Music, Books, Miles, and Looks of August

Music:

Never Let You Go by Justin Bieber: Yes, I am 29 going on 12. Don't judge. I needed some new running music and while this song isn't one of the 'faster' ones, it has become one of my favorites... I realize some of you may want to delete me from your reader after reading this, but I think we all have music we have bought that we are a little ashamed about...

Forgiveness by Sarah McLachlin - this is one of the many great songs on her newest album! Yes, it's a little heavy, but I like it...

That Year by Brandi Carlile - The concert is still fresh in my memory so I had to share a Brandi Carlile song. She is so talented! It's hard to believe that she is my age - she has such a soulful voice!

Books:

Labor Day by Joyce Maynard - you can read my review here.

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith - this is a classic novel, written by the woman who wrote 101 Dalmatians. I liked the voice of the narrator, but this novel was a bit slow moving for me at times.

The Life You've Imagined by Kristina Riggle - you can read my review here.

Leaving Before It's Over - I'll be posting my review on Tuesday.

Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern - Ok, if you can get past the vulgarity of the language in this book, you will love it. It is a laugh-out-loud funny kind of book! It's the kind of book that you probably shouldn't read in public because you WILL be laughing out load quite a bit! My sister was having a stressful day last night so I recommended that she head to B&N, pick up this book, and read a certain chapter. She loved it so much, she bought it.

Miles:

I ran 152 miles in August! No complaints here - I am very happy with that mileage! I think back to June when I didn't quite hit 100 and I thought I was running a lot. Now I ran 50+ miles further? Kind of crazy!

Looks:

It was another hot month - the 3rd hottest August in Minnesota on record actually! So it seems fitting to show you yet another inexpensive Target dress! It's obviously super casual, but isn't that what summer is all about?

That's a really gorgeous picture of you, love the dress!

I love laugh out loud books! Thanks for the warning NOT to read in public - I remember reading a Terry Pratchett book when I worked at a call centre, and I got told to put it away - not because we weren't allowed to read, but because I was laughing too much :)

That's a great hot August! Don't worry about Justin, everyone has a song or artist they like that might not be age appropriate lol! I'm not opposed to the Jo Bros. :)

152 miles?! I bow down to the awesome-ness that is you. (Even if you do listen to Justin Bieber - ha!)

True story: my cousins grew up with Justin Bieber. They used to go over to his house for sleepovers and he used to have a huge crush on my cousin. I find "Bieber fever" hilarious!! (Ashamedly, I also get it, thanks to Somebody to Love.)

152 miles!? I'm mucho impressed.

You picked some great songs (well, I admit I've never listened to J Bieber before, but I guess I can start!)

Here's hoping September is a great month for all of us :)

That mileage is crazy to me. I couldn't even envision running over 100 miles six months ago. We are crazy and September is going to be even crazier!!! ;)

Love, love, love that dress! It looks super comfy AND it's super flattering!

I can't judge you about liking that Justin Bieber song because I've never heard it. You can judge me for liking Nickelback...everyone makes fun of them, but their music is super catchy!

Such a cute dress!

I love that picture of you - and that dress!

152 miles is just plain crazy. I hope to one day be able to do that but for now, I'm shooting for just 3 miles A WEEK! ;)

You are plain awesome...even if you do listen to Justin Bieber. Hehe.

Sh*T my Dad SAid is awesome. Thank you for the recommendation - now whenever I'm having a frustrating/bad day - I think I need to refer to that one for a smile!

You look gorgeous in that picture, Lisa! :)

Wow, 152 miles?! That is crazy. I can't believe how close your getting to the marathon.

Also, don't feel bad about the Justin Bieber son. I have a little obsession with Katie Perry (sp?) songs lately? Drives Ryan effing crazy.

Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch. "Good Vibrations". I love it. I feel ridiculous, but don't really care enough to stop listening to it. Becasue I'm reliving my middle-school years, apparently.

P.S. Love that Target dress! So fun to find cheap, cute finds. I picked up a few really cute dresses at Old Navy the other day.

Love the dress!!!

Yesterday I was watching Oprah on the treadmill and Justin Bieber was on. I decided I really like him, which I realize I am at least 10 years too old for haha, but he's seems like the right type of guy to be a role model for preteens/teens haha. So no judgment here...
