5 Things Friday

Happy Friday.  Wow am I excited to see the weekend come.  Here's a Friday Five recap of my week...

1.  My dad's surgery went well.  He was in surgery for over 8 hours.  I did fine until I had to get my flight at the end of the day before he was out of surgery - I had been thinking he'd be out of surgery by the time my 6:30 pm flight left.  Not the case...  I could not turn on my cell phone fast enough when we landed and it sure was a relief to find out all had gone well.

2.  My work trip was a successful trip, but it was a very difficult trip for me.  I strengthened my relationships with sales reps and met with a lot of clients, but it was draining. It's just hard to be "on" for so many hours in a row (Mon/Tues were 15+ hour days).  I am happy it is behind me (as is everyone else - every single co-worker agreed that it was a draining trip), and am happy that I have no travel planned for the next month or so.

3.  It really is the best feeling to return home and be SO HAPPY you live where you do.

4.  I'm 1/3 of the way through CFA materials.  Woo hoo!  Oh and here is a testament to the fact that this whole studying process is stressful:  A client that I ate lunch with on Wednesday told me he broke out in hives a month before he took level II due to the stress of studying!!!  Let's hope that doesn't happen to me.  ;)

5.  Besides studying, my only other plans for the weekend are to babysit for my friend's 14 month son.  I can't wait to spend the night with him as he is at such a fun age!!

What's on your mind today?

14 months is a great age, you'll definitely have fun.

I'm so glad your dad's surgery went well and that your work trip is over! I think being "on" for that long would be incredibly draining!

I was thinking about you and your dad last night. Glad to hear everything went well and wishing him a speedy recovery! Are you going to get the chance to see him soon?

I hope you get in some relaxing this week!! I feel like I'm often telling you this - but you deserve some down-time!

Happy to hear everything went well with your Dad's surgery. I know what you mean about having to be 'on' for so long...it's exhausting!

So glad your dad's surgery went well! That has to be quite a relief.

I know you are glad to be home and that really does sound like a tough trip. But I have to admit that I actually have a lower opinion of the single men in Minneapolis after meeting you. How someone hasn't been smart enough to completely sweep you off of your feet is beyond me. it's amazing really. Glad you made it home safe and sound!

So glad that the surgery went well AND that you're 1/3 of the way through the CFA materials. That's got to feel good =)

Right now it's snowing and dark. I would rather have sun. That's really all that's on my mind at the moment!

I'm so glad your dad's surgery went well although I'm sure it was so stressful having to get on that flight without knowing how he was doing. I can't imagine! Have fun babysitting! I love kids at that age!

Ditto John's comment. So much!

I'm SO GLAD your dad made it out of surgery OK and you got to talk to him! I know this has been a really stressful and hard week for you so I hope you get to recharge a bit this weekend and that next week is much, much better!

You're making me break out in hives just talking about how hard this exam is supposed to be. Good grief! So glad your dad's surgery went well. Better to go long than for him to have to go back for a second surgery because they didn't get it all the first time!

I love John's comment! SO TRUE! What is wrong with these guys!? It's so nice to have a male blogger who knows what's up and is honest.

I am glad your trip is over, since I know you were not looking forward to the busyness of the last few weeks. So now hopefully you will have some "downtime" aka study time or at least not "on" time.

I love traveling for work but I hate it at the same time because you always work harder when you travel for work! Glad you are back home safe! And glad your dad surgery went well!

I'm so glad your dad is doing well, I can't imagine how stressful that was!!

On my mind today is a lot of things - one, I had a terrible last block. The kids were just out of control and so RUDE. Finally I told a girl she was probably the most disrespectful girl I have ever had in class. That's probably mean, but she needed to know.

TGIF, right?! Have fun babysitting! That is such a fun age!
