Amber's Wedding!!

5 posts later, I am finally getting around to recapping Amber's wedding!  It's hard to believe it was almost 3 weeks ago - time has flown since then... and just as we knew it would, her wedding day flew by.  Luckily I got a decent number of photos!  You really should also go check out Kelly's recap as she got some amazing shots and it's fun reading her perspective of the day!!

The day got started pretty early as Amber had to get her hair curled and set at 7:30 and I was next at 8:30.  The time spent getting ready went pretty fast.  In a matter of hours we went from looking like this...

I was mostly ready in this photo, Amber still had a ways to go obviously.  ;)

To looking like this!

Amber and I shortly before she walked down the aisle!

I really, really liked the bridesmaid dress.  She picked them out and ordered them from a wedding shop in St. Paul when she came to visit me last year (where she also got her beautiful dress!), and I had a decent amount of influence on the selection.  Amber went with these dresses because of the color and the fact that we thought it would be flattering on everyone.  I think we were right - this is one of the most flattering (and comfortable) bridesmaid dresses I've worn, and I think everyone looked beautiful in the dress!!  See for yourself - here I am with 3 of the other bridesmaids!

We are sipping on a little pre-wedding champagne!
Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to start!  The ceremony was held on a grassy area that overlooked the ocean.  It was a stunning setting and this wedding goes down as the most beautiful weddings I've attended!

After the wedding, I found these guys and had some cocktails with them before dinner!  The signature cocktail was a Caesar, which is one of Amber and Eric's favorite drinks (I'm a big fan too!).

Then it was time for dinner!

Amber and Eric entering the tent, which was down on the grassy area where the ceremony was held.
The food was delicious and all of the speeches had me laughing - and tearing up a bit as well.

Amber and Eric both did a great job speaking!
And I ended up giving a little impromptu speech when Amber's brother called on the audience for other speeches.  There were a decent number of bloggers at the wedding, so it was fun to speak and represent this area of her life.
It totally looks like I am singing in this photo - I promise I'm not.  Thanks, Kelly, for capturing this moment on film!

After dinner, Anais, Amber, Kelly, and I got together for a quick photo.  I really loved spending time with these girls.  I just wish we lived closer so we could all be together more often!  We all just get along so well.  We were definitely all meant to meet each other.  :)

After dinner, we headed back upstairs for the dance.
First dance as husband and wife!

After that, there was lots of dance offs and patio conversations and at the stroke of midnight, I got to wish these two a happy 2nd anniversary!!

So there you have it.  I really can't even attempt to do this day justice.  The wedding was so beautiful and there were so many great details from the lemonade stand (which was a hit) to the photo booth to the dessert table to the beautiful sunflower decor.  It was a beautiful day and Amber was literally glowing.  It's a wonderful thing to watch a wonderful friend get married to someone that you know will make her incredibly happy - and vice versa.

The day after the wedding, I was so sad to say good bye, I ended up crying.  I am not one to cry when saying good bye (it totally surprised Amber!), but I was just so sad to see the wedding weekend come to an end.  It was just wonderful spending so much time around Amber, Anais, and Kelly - I hope we are reunited again soon!

I feel so blessed to have been a part of Amber's wedding day.  The fact that I was a bridesmaid is a testament to the authenticity of friendships that can be formed through blogging.  It's an unconventional way to meet, but I am so very thankful that blogging brought us together!  I do not know what I would do without Amber in my life!!

Have you made friends through blogging?  As you all know, I have met so many great friends through blogging!  I'm thankful everyday for the people I have in my life as a result of starting this little blog.

Okay first off, I'm so proud of you for taking pictures! (I like to think part of the reason you did is because I bullied you into it - ha!)

Her wedding looked gorgeous - I can't wait until she gets her professional pictures back!

I have of course made fabulous friends through blogging including you - I can't even imagine my life without my core group of blogging turned in real life friends!

Hahaha, I really wish you were singing in that photo because that would've been hilarious.

Also this post made me tear up a bit. It was really sad to see the weekend end- between the fact that we have been planning to all get together for so long, and the fact that it went so well and we had so much fun.

I love blogging and the fact that it brought all of us together :)

The wedding looked like a great time! The dresses were definitely very flattering on all of you, and I love that shade of yellow on you!

I haven't met all that many other bloggers, but when I have it feels like I already know them so well. It's fun to see how their personalities deviate or don't IRL from their writing voices on their blogs. I'm definitely glad we met through blogging and then in person!

Yes I've made tons of fantastic friends through blogging. I must be hanging out with the old people though because I've never been to a blogger's wedding.

Wow, that was a beautiful setting! Wonderful that you have made such endearing friendships through blogging! It's a wonderful tool for socializing! I have never, and wonder if I ever will, blogged, but I love reading others!

What a magical day! I love how you said that your friendship with Amber is a testament to the authenticity of friendships formed through blogging. It's so true! I have made so many amazing friends in the five years I have been blogging and they have really helped me through some rough times. My life would definitely not be as full without the friends I met through blogging!

I have made a ton of friends from blogging. A couple of them attended my wedding and one of them was even my bridesmaid. Blogging is awesome. :)

You guys look great! I do love those bridesmaids dresses. I think you are right; that style IS good for everyone! And you will totally be able to wear that dress again!

I am glad that you have made some great friends through blogging! I think there is something about connecting with someone based on the things you have in common, rather than just because you are nearby, location wise. You really get to the core of the person faster!

Awww I love this recap so much! It really was such an amazing day. I can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks. I was totally surprised when you cried when we were saying goodbye because that is not like you! The day after the wedding was a really weird day for me because at first I was rushing around in the morning trying to locate my things that were strewn across the resort, and then saying goodbye to everyone felt so rushed (and I missed saying goodbye to some important people because they had to go catch the ferry!) and then I was also so happy and excited to go off on the honeymoon with Eric but also feeling kind of melancholy and lonely that all of our friends and family had dispersed. Being surrounded by so many great friends and family really is one of the BEST parts of weddings :)

What a beautiful setting to celebrate the union of two beautiful people - so cool that you got to be a part of it.

I joined the blogging ranks at a time when I had no idea that I'd get to know other people, let alone become real life friends with them. That part of blogging has been an incredible and welcomed surprise for me. I also get to attend the wedding of a blogging friend this fall. Two of my local blogging friends are also in my working mama's group. And I've gotten to meet and befriend countless other bloggers over the years. It's been an amazing resource for meeting some amazing friends!

Amber's wedding sounds like a blast. :) And I *love* the bridesmaid dress she picked out. It's so classic!

I've met a lot of great friends through blogging and some of my closest friends, the ones I can tell practically ANYTHING to, I haven't even met in real life - just through our blogs! It's pretty amazing.

AWWWW love this recap!! You both looked SO gorgeous and I love your bridesmaid dress- and her wedding dress? Oh my goodness, beautiful!! She really was glowing :)

It makes me so happy to see bloggers becoming such great friends- but it's a shame blogger friends can't always live closer together. Luckily you girls make tons of time to see each other & that's what counts!

Lisa, it's a gorgeous wedding and you look absolutely amazing! You're right about the dresses. I've had my share of bad bridesmaid dresses and I'd kill for this one! You all look happy! I'm glad it was everything you hoped for!

That is one of the best beautiful weddings I have ever seen! The setting is just gorgeous. And you women look absolutely stunning. Amber was a beautiful bride!!

Love your hair that day! It looks like the weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding to. Looked a little overcast - and no one looked as if they were freezing (or sweating from sweltering heat)

I have not made friends through blogging, however I wouldn't consider myself a true blogger. As my blog is updated maybe once/month and my only followers are my Mom & Sister. lol
