Nora's Wedding!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I had a chance to pull the photos off of my phone on Sunday night, so here I am with the wedding recap post.  I will say - if you want more details and stunning photos, check out Becky and Nilsa's blogs as they took a bunch of photos (with their nice cameras) whereas these were all taken with my handy dandy iPhone!

Now for the recap!  I had an absolutely blast at Nora's wedding.  Mother nature threw some curve balls at Nora & her fiance, but they handled them super well (like having to change plans for the reception and move it indoors due to the unseasonably cold 45 degree temps!).  They had a day wedding (which is something I could totally see myself doing given the fact that I suck at staying up late and love brunch!), so things kicked off rather early on Saturday morning (6 am hair appointments, to be exact).  I'll let the photos do the talking!

It may be 6 am, but Nora was wide awake and ready to go!  They had the hair  and make-up people come to Nora's parents' home, which was SUPER convenient!!  Nora's mom provided breakfast and LOTS of coffee!

Nora and I got our hair done first - next up was make up (sorry for the blurry iPhone photo)

Before we knew it, it was time for photos.  Here I am, all dressed up and ready to go.  I REALLY loved the bridesmaid dresses - they were comfortable and looked great on everyone. Nora let us pick our styles which was awesome as I am all about dresses with straps.  :)

A couple of hours later, and these 2 were husband and wife!  We snapped a quick photo before dinner began!  I LOVED Nora's dress.  She looks beautiful  (and SO happy) and the stye completely suited her.  I liked that they guys would brown vests/pants - very fall appropriate!

You can see the detail on the back of the dress in this photo, which was taken during their first dance!
Sadly, that is pretty much all the photos I have of the day!  It's tough to capture the event when you are a bridesmaid, but like I said in the beginning, I KNOW Nilsa and Becky got some great shops, so watch out for their recaps of the events.

It was such a wonderful weekend and I had so much fun with Nora, Knight, and Nora's family.  This was my 3rd visit to St. Louis so I have gotten to know her family well - especially her mom, who shares a love of all things French.  :)  Besides spending quality time with Nora (which included going to an author event on Thursday) it was awesome to see Mandy, Nilsa, Becky, and Alli.  I love these girls (if you don't read their blogs, I highly recommend that you start!) and hate that we are geographically dispersed - but I know there will be future meet-ups!

All in all it was a wonderful weekend, full of laughter, good food, good friends, and FUN!

Have you ever been to a day wedding before?  This was my first and I thought it was so fun!  My wedding will depend on the person I marry, of course, but I could see myself having a day wedding with brunch!

You girls both look gorgeous! I had so much fun this weekend following along with the wedding from afar! I can't believe it was 45 degrees there, since here it was in the 70s! (though that cool weather started to come later in the weekend which probably makes sense).

I like the day wedding idea as a fellow early riser/early to bed, but I knew that with Eric and my family if I did a day wedding there would still be an after party and it would end up just being longer so I didn't want to do that haha. One of my friends had a day wedding on a Sunday because she is Jewish and they can't get married before sundown on Saturday (my other friend who is Jewish did hers on a Sat and it started at 8:45pm, talk about my personal worst nightmare, we ate dinner that night at like midnight!). I loved her day wedding, though I also had a wedding the night before so it was a bit of a crazy weekend haha.

I love your hair and dress! You both look beautiful!

We have had some crazy weather here too, first it's like 80 degrees on Friday then it's freezing cold then it's raining!

Nora looks so gorgeous and I just loved her dress. You looked gorgeous, too! Two cute bridesmaids dresses in a row - you're on a roll here! :)

I'm glad the wedding was so great and I'm intrigued by the thought of a day wedding. I'm not sure which I would prefer for my own! I think both types have their pros and cons.

It really was such a fun and very special weekend. Such a treat to spend time with you and to see Nora get married! I wouldn't change a thing about my evening wedding. Nora's was my first daytime wedding and I've got to admit I am now fond of them, too.

Back in the days of my youth, weddings often took place on a Saturday morning, and the party continued all day long and well into the night with a dance! Talk about marathon events! I loved the dresses and especially the color of the bridesmaids dresses! Sounds like it was a great event!

LOVE weddings! Could just stare at other ppls wedding photos all day! I am in a wedding next weekend and I really hope I can get some good fun shots so I can give them to the bride the next day so she can see them. I think that is the best - having photos of you right afterward while you wait for your professional ones to come!

You all look fabulous! That shade of red is fantastic on you, Lisa! It sounds like a great time. My own wedding was in the early afternoon with just a small group of family and friends, but my reception was in the evening. So I guess that's the closes to a day wedding as I've got so far.

I know that I would have a day wedding, but I really like the idea of a day wedding especially when you're more chill and laid back like Nora and Knight. It just fits the vibe.

I'm totally stealing Nora's program. I love how they kept it so light and funny, but most of all I love how they wrote something special about each person in the wedding party. What a special touch and so much better than the typical "Jane Smith: Friend of the Bride"

So pretty! That color looks amazing on you! What time did the reception start? that seems like a great idea I wish we hadn't already reserved our ceremony time and sent the deposit in. I'd love to have the big family deal done early, take a nap and then party with friends at night. I might have to do some thinking....

You looked gorgeous and that bridesmaid dress is a win cause it's reusable for other functions! What a great event! And yep, most the wedding's I've been in or at have been day weddings--I think I've only been to one night/evening wedding actually but LOTS of daytime weddings.

You looked beautiful and that bridesmaid dress is so pretty! I love the colour.

Nora's dress is/was STUNNING. I love the detail on the back!

Glad you guys had such a great day!

I really loved everything about the whole weekend. It would be fabulous if we could all get together, celebrate, drink and laugh every few weeks wouldn't it? You looked stunning in your dress and the picture of you in your dress taken in the mirror at Nora's mom's house, is so gorgeous.

I am a fan of day weddings.

I miss you!

I may much more of a night wedding person. I am not a morning person and I hate breakfast food.

It looks like such a great day! I'm glad to hear the day all worked out even with the weather being a little unpredictable.

And as for a day wedding, I can't say I've ever been to one. Although I do think it has its advantages, and think a wedding brunch would be a lot of fun.

SO MUCH FUN! This was the first day wedding I had been to and it was awesome!

I'll probably do more of a real wedding recap next week!

Awww, you guys look great! I can't believe it was that cold, but they say that the more issues you have on your wedding day, the easier the marriage will be, or something like that! I love Nora's dress and it sounds like you had a great time catching up with the other bloggers! (plus you got in a dreadmill run. go you!)

I guess I knew the wedding was coming up but I didn't quite know when. I'm looking forward to seeing photos when I see Di at the end of the month. It looks great and so do you -- what perfect dresses.

This just made me cry (happy tears, and yes, I'm STILL emotional!). I am so, so, so happy that we met, that you were there for me and that you are just one of my best friends ever. You got some great photos with your phone, I must say. I'm going to ask you to send me the first dance photo pretty please? =)

I had an absolute blast with you on Thursday during our us only time and can't wait to do it again soon! I miss you and as such you can bet your bottom we need to plan another get together soon, k?
