10 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 9

Today I am thankful for Phil.

I'm saving the best for last as the people I'll be posting about for the last 2 days of this post series top the list when I reflect on what I am thankful for.

I'm very thankful that Phil is in my life.  He's smart, witty, good looking and he keeps me on my toes. He's all that and more but it's tough to succinctly summarize what he means to me.

I appreciate the support and encouragement he's given me since I moved back to Minneapolis.  It's been a mostly good transition but there have been some tough parts.  He's gotten good at knowing when I want him to come up with a solution to something and when I just need him to listen (or asking if he's not sure).

We've made a lot of memories this summer and fall and I look forward to making many more!

Haha, I laughed about the solutions vs. listening... seems to be an issue in all relationships haha.

I hope to meet Phil someday :) He should come with you to Boston!

I always try to keep in mind that guys are problem solvers and if I need someone to just vent to/listen, I call my mom or sister. It's hard though sometimes, so that's an awesome trait that he knows when to have a solution vs. listen! I'm so glad you two are happy, I second Kelly you guys should visit Boston :)

I couldn't be more happy for you, Lisa! So many prayers have been said for you in the past to meet someone that makes you shine like Phil does. He is a great guy, and I'm so happy for you!

I love your comment about the balance between listening and offering advice. Ryan and I used to struggle with that - and after 5 years of being married I think we've figured it out ;). He now will stop me and ask, "So would you like me to help come up with a solution? Or is this one of those things where I'm just supposed to agree with you and listen?" Lol :)

You two are an adorable couple; very glad that he makes you happy as you deserve it. Look forward to meeting him in 2015 =) (I hope he's ready to meet ALL the blogger friends!)

Also, I chuckled on the part about coming up with a solution vs. listening, or asking. D has to do that still when I'm talking to him about stuff.

Aww love this post! So glad that you have Phil in your life and from what I've heard about him he sounds like an awesome match for you. Can't wait to meet him one day!

Oh, and I've given up on Eric just "listening" haha. I mostly just avoid venting to him about work related stuff anymore. We actually really rarely talk about work with each other aside from the very general "how was your day" type of stuff because our jobs are SO different, but I don't mind. It's kind of nice to not talk or think about work when I'm at home!

Phil seems like a great person and a perfect match for you! I love that he is a cat person :-)

I struggle to talk about my work day with Pete. Usually when I'm venting he starts venting too instead of listening and I get frustrated that I can't finish venting. Ha. Work in progress!

Awww.. Cheers to Phil! I love the photo of the two of you at the waterfall; it seems you have found a kindred spirit in him! I can't wait to meet him when you guys come to the city for your next visit!!

I was hoping Phil would be on your list and I hope he knows he's in the top 10 tribute list! (Does he read your blog?) It fills my heart with joy to know that you have rediscovered each other at a time that is better for your both. I hope that memory making continues!

I love the photos you managed to find of you too! Especially since I get how difficult it can be when you with someone who hates having their picture taken.

I was really happy when you and Phil got back together after you guys took time apart when you were in Charlotte. Definitely another perk to being back in Minneapolis! (Not that you're short on reasons!!)

No surprise that I'm late to your thankful party. So, I'm just perusing these posts. But, I have to give a big THUMBS UP for this post - I'm so happy you found each other (again)!
