TGIF

Ufda, this past week was another busy one.  I feel like I've got so many plates spinning these days...  Life is good so I can't complain but I would love a week with fewer plans...  Last year I made one week in November a "plan free week" and I am thinking about trying to do that again so I can reset my battery!  Here's how my week shaped up!

The high of my week was spending time with two of my college friends last night.  They both have 2 kids and our schedules are all so busy so I'm always grateful when we can find a night when we are all free!

The low of my week was a poor night of sleep on Sunday night.  I'm making changes suggested by the sleep doctor I saw in August and my sleep is improving but I had a rough night on Sunday as I was up from 12:30-3 so only got about 4.5 hours of sleep.  Womp womp.

A book I am reading is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which is the book for my local book club.  I'm looking forward to discussing it with the girls next week.  It's being made into a movie so when it is released, our club is planning to go to the movie together!

For my workouts, I ran with my club on Monday and Wednesday and strength trained on Tuesday and Thursday. Today I will rest, tomorrow I will run 16 miles and on Sunday I will bike 32 miles when I do the Minneapolis Bike Tour!

The best money I spent was on plane tickets for our Boston trip and our trip to NJ for my friend Alli's wedding!  On Monday I noticed the price for the Boston trip had dropped from $390 to $307 so we decided to buy. Later that day, Phil saw that it had dropped to $217!  I called Priceline and luckily they agreed to match the price!  Plus our tickets to Philadelphia for Alli's wedding were only $197 so we really got lucky with airfare this week.

My plans this weekend include going to dinner with Phil and another couple and their baby tonight. Tomorrow I will run with my club and then that evening I am doing a trial run of a recipe for Julia Child night which Phil will help me eat. On Sunday I'm doing the Minneapolis Bike Tour in the morning, which is an annual event put on by our Parks and Rec Board, and later that day I fly to Chicago for a quick business trip.  I don't have any plans for Saturday afternoon which I am very happy about!

What was the high of your week?  What was the best money you spent this week?

Yay, so glad you got a good price on your flights to Boston and everything is booked! :)
What kind of changes is the sleep doctor recommending? I'm glad its' helping at least even with a bad night on Sunday.

A plan-free weekend or week sounds really nice. I remember those busy weeks from my past life. ;) Now it's just overall business, but not too many plans.

Ugh... Commenter being weird for me so I had to leave a second comment instead of putting it all in one. Highlight of my week was getting to my first running workout last night (coordinating baby swaparoo with Pete beforehand at the workout location) and the best money I spent was on lunch out (a delicious Caprese sandwich) to meet two former coworkers to catch up and let them meet Henry.

Yay for the weekend! I know what you mean about a plan free weekend, although I tend to fill those up too, since they are "free". Plans for my weekend include a workout and a trip to the grocery store tonight (so I can lie around on Saturday!), a hike with a friend Saturday morning, work around the house and hopefully some relax time on Saturday afternoon/evening, and a long run to meet up with a friend for a walk and lunch on Sunday. I am going to enjoy it, because October is going to be another plan filled month!

You control the calendar, Lisa! Make that plan-free weekend a monthly event (or at least a plan-free day once a week!). You'll be glad you did.

But it all sounds wonderful and that's a fabulous price on the trip. Three cheers -- Love Boston, should be fun.

My high of the week was last night -- we had our first Southern Exposure workshop of the season, made the most astounding wreath and boy, do I have great pix! Can't wait to edit them!

The best money of the week was decidedly unglamorous but I ordered new orthotic molds. My feet have changed and the old orthotics are past their life span. She'll recondition the old, plus make new ones and maybe that will help with my PT/back issues. You know what it's like when feet don't behave! So, good money, if unattractive!

I can't believe it's already time for Julia Child recipe testing. Where does the time go?
Way to go on the awesome flight deals; lovely when that happens, isn't it!? We got really lucky with our flights to Seattle and since Knight has to work while we are out there, his is covered by work which is a bonus.
Can I just say- running 16 miles and then biking 32 the next day? You are amazing. I'm pretty sure my quads would die a slow and painful death. Happy weekend!

What recipe are you making for Julia Child night? I am looking forward to that event with great anticipation!
Bummers on the poor night of sleep and I hope they are far and few between!
You will have a busy month of traveling in October! I am looking forward to our "girl's trip" in October, too!
Have a great weekend!

I definitely hope you can make a plan-free week happen for you sometime soon. And I would suggest making it a quarterly thing because it seems like those types of weeks are really good for you. Go for it, girl!

And WAHOO for scoring those great flight deals. That is awesome!!

Well done for calling about the flight price-matching, I love it when people get good bargains! Using chromecast and youtube and I was watching episodes of the French Chef with Julia Child last night on TV - I'm thinking about trying out the mousse au chocolat :)

The high of my week was getting my new furniture delivered and it makes me so happy to see it every time I walk into the room.

Wow - that's an amazing price for your plane tickets! That must have felt good to get them at such a cheap rate, when you were ready to spend more than that. The best money I spent lately was on some birthday gifts for Christopher.

That is some great airfare prices! We just bought our Florida airfare and went with Southwest. All three of us for $700.Chris has American vouchers we were going to use for Elle and I and they were a complete joke. Still would have paid $150 a ticket plus tax but his ticket alone was going to cost $500 or so. So long for hoping to have scored a deal. Can't wait to hear about the bike tour you did!

Those are some awesome flight deals you guys got!! The best money I spent last week was probably on a new pair of running shoes, though Eric got me a gift card for my birthday that covered almost half of them so that was nice!

I am definitely trying to protect my weekends as I get into my busy work season since the week days are pretty crazy. This weekend was pretty great! Last night we had a fun dinner with Jen and Brennen and then went out for beers with my brother who is visiting my mom this week!

Three cheers for dropping airfare! I seriously hate playing that game and yet I still want to go back and check the prices every day from the time I purchase my ticket to the day I fly!
