10 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 2

Today I am thankful that my quality of sleep has improved.

Sleeping has never been my strong suit but when I went off Ambien in July, my trouble with falling and staying asleep went from inconvenient to downright debilitating. I was training for a marathon and triathlon and adjusting to a new job so I knew that I could not continue to function on such little sleep, which prompted me to meet with a sleep doctor in late August.

I was skeptical that the changes they suggested I make, which are detailed in this post, would make a difference, but low and behold - they did.  I fall asleep within a much more reasonable time frame and when I wake up during the night, as I do pretty much every night, I am usually able to fall back asleep.

I'm so thankful that I sought help and that my commitment to making the suggested changes has paid off!

What are you thankful for today?

Wow, it's awesome when behavioral changes can take the place of medication. So much better for you long term.

Very glad the tips are working for you!
Today I'm thankful for a flexible work environment. Being able to work from home once a week, their understanding I have to adjust my hours when my bonus girls are here. It's one of the things I will miss when I eventually move on (not any time soon, just eventually!).

Lisa, that is such good news. I'm so pleased that things are having an effect.

Today I'm thankful that the opening night of my sale went far better than I could have expected. It's not only fun to be with friends but gratifying when people like what you do!

I'm so very happy to hear that your sleep has improved due to simple behavioral changes! That's cause for so much celebration.

Today, I'm thankful to do a job that I love. I work with great people and I love the work, even if it may seem boring to some people.

What a relief, I am sure! I am so glad that the answer was in the form of something natural, rather than having to take a drug for the rest of your life! Are you still waking up in the middle of the night and getting up to read, or has that abated?

Yes!! So happy those changes have been so good for you! I've actually told a few people about the suggestion to not lay in bed awake but to get up and read outside of the bedroom and I even did it myself the other night when I was awake in the middle of the night and it really did help!
