Meet Paul Donald!

Paul Donald came into this world at 1:07pm on Wednesday, March 1st via C-section after a stalled out induction! He is named after his grandpa's as my dad's name is Paul and Phil's dad's name was Donald.

He weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 20" long. And his head was very average so they were wrong about it being 96th percentile!

Our first family picture
I will share the (long) birth story later this week. I was disappointed that we needed a C-section but luckily he was doing well when they got him out so I got to do skin-to-skin with him while they stitched me back up. I wanted 3 things out of our birth story: vaginal delivery, delayed cord clamping and skin-to-skin, so at least I got 1 out of those 3 things.

Skin-to-skin in the recovery room
He has the blondest hair! Every care provider comments on it as they usually don't see blond babies with so much hair.

We are so in love. We've been through the ringer over the past week - more on that in the birth story post - but he's worth it!

Oh, Lisa, he is absolutely gorgeous. I will never forget his birthday as he shares it with Pete! I’m sorry you had to have a c-section, but it’s awesome you got to do skin to skin right away! I hope your recovery goes smoothly. I look forward to reading his birth story, but for now I’m enjoying all the adorable pictures on Facebook and Instagram! Enjoy your beautiful boy - these first few days and weeks are so, so special! Much love to your little family of 4! (Can’t forget Oscar 😉)

I am so very, very happy for you. He is beautiful! And you and Phil must be over the moon with joy. To hold him to your skin -- wow. It sounds like it might have been a tough go, so I'm very happy all is well. Hold BOTH your boys close! Love and congratulations.

He's perfect and I love that full head of blonde hair! c-sections can have a longer recovery time, but fwiw Kelley thought it was totally worth it. Congratulations and I hope you have an easy recovery!

He's so perfect! I'm excited to read your birth story even though we've talked a lot about what happened. I had a vaginal delivery but did not get delayed cord clamping or immediate skin to skin due to Olivia coming out purple and not breathing so you just never know how your birth story is going to go! Regardless, I'm so glad he is here :) Clearly I was wrong about his head looking like Olivia's (therefore I guessed girl) in his ultrasound!
