I agree with most of the comments in the fact that I don't know why people in our generation or below even start! Is it considered "cool"? I mean, I can see how people in our parent's or grandparent's generation did it; it was newer and there was not all the research regarding health yet (plus, didn't they look so suave in their fancy outfits with their cigarettes?) But now? With all the scientific backing about the health risks? Why!?

My confession is that when people who don't know me (on the plane) ask me where I am from, I gesture frantically to my headphones and book and put a "don't bother me" look on my face. I hate it when seatmates strike up conversations on the plane! (and yes, First class is way better for avoiding that, for sure!) If I'm in Louisiana and someone asks, the easy answer if California. But if I'm traveling and someone asks where I'm from I never know what to say. I know I should clean more (and sometimes I wish I did) but we are busy people. Also, something that I've really started thinking about lately (like last night for example) is: 'is it more important for me to do these dishes, or to spend the last 20 minutes before bed on the couch with Eric, reading while he watches TV' - spending time with Eric won. The dishes can wait! Two years ago the dishes would have won but I've really reorganized my priorities around how important a clean house is lately. I mean obviously for hygienic reasons it's important, but a small mess never hurt anyone!!Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05185652640389232120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-22461165947405666512013-09-19T14:06:27.644-05:002013-09-19T14:06:27.644-05:00haha I second Kelly's comment! When you live alone you don't generate much dirt and you're the only one who sees it so I would do the same! It's amazing how two people can make a mess, though! Hmmm, wonder who the mess maker is?
The lady who owns the business next to us, would come outside every day and smoke while she was pregnant! It bothered me so much, and I wasn't the only one! I hope her baby is okay! Isn't it sad that people find reading "boring"? They must not have been read to as a child. I confess that I feel bad that I don't have more time to just sit and read! I yearn to take a "reading vacation" and try to get caught up with all the books I have on my shelf that are not read yet! You don't have to like it and you don't have to stay there.

I took me years to say "I'm from AZ." In fact, this temporary move to TX is the 1st time I've told people "I'm from AZ". But it's funny b/c their next question is usually "You accent doesn't sound like it...". Then I have to explain I was born in ND. The midwest will always be "home" for me though.

I agree with smoking. I say that a lot. It stuns me when I meet someone who seems completely normal that smokes. I guess I associate smoking @ a young age with trash. Why do people in our generation start?!?!

My confession is that I am so sick of Texas at this point that I am starting to feel anxious. Then another lady came up and was asking us a million questions about our wetsuits and NOT LEAVING lol. In my head I was like okay, I'm done with this conversation, go away. Then Caroline was like "what is HAPPENING right now" with an also annoyed look. I was like hahaha, we hate stranger conversations.
I've never gone first class so I can't say much about that, but I usually don't drink on planes anyway so I think for me I would like my seatmate not talking to me and the extra space! I wonder if I would like the flight attendants bugging me a lot though haha, probably not!
Also, worth noting... it was 64 last night and I went swimming outside. Charlotte people might cry haha. Kelly (She Wears a Red Sox Cap)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04415604174106394910noreply@blogger.com
