10 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 7

Today I am thankful that I found a great rheumatologist that I like and trust.

This whole being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis really threw me for a loop this year.  It was such a foreign disease to me, and there has been so much to wrap my mind around, but I am thankful that I have found a great doctor that I like and trust.  She is a great listener and does a good job of acknowledging that having RA sucks while remaining upbeat and positive about my outlook.

She recently made the decision to put me on weekly injections.  It was a little scary and daunting to agree to this next method of treatment, but I trust my doctor so feel (mostly) at peace with the decision to start the injections.  I took my first dose last Monday and all in all, it really was not bad.  I am also thankful that I am not afraid of needles because if I was, giving myself those weekly injections would really suck!

I'm extremely thankful you found that, Lisa. Maybe more than anything.

I'm so glad that you didn't stop looking until you found someone you were comfortable with!!!

I'm glad to hear you are liking this doctor better and she's started an additional treatment to hopefully help the situation. I hope you see progress from this very soon!

Finding a doctor you like and trust is SUCH a good thing. It's so hard to find a good doctor nowadays, it seems. Happy for you!

I am so thankful that you found a good Rheumatologist. I remember the day we found out about your diagnosis...it was such a daunting and overwhelming feeling, then the daunting stress of finding a rheumatologist came over me. I'm so glad you've found soemone who is compassionate, that you can trust.

There is nothing more important than having a doctor who you like and trust. I have to take an entire day off and travel an hour and a half once a year to see my allergist, but I refuse to switch because he's my favorite doctor ever.

I'm so glad that you found a great Rheumatologist and that you got rid of that first guy really quickly!

I'm thankful you don't mind needles. I don't love needles, but also don't mind them when other people are handling them. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I had to give myself injections. (Suck it up and deal - I know - ha!)

I am so glad you found a good doctor! Sometimes the health care system is so frustrating and it's really important to feel like you have someone who understands who you are, who doesn't just see you as a number or a no-name patient.
