Three Things Thursday

Happy Thursday!  This week has been hectic and stressful, so my mind is all over the place as result.  So here's an all-over-the-place list of questions with my top 3 answers.

Favorite ethnic cuisine:
1. Mexican
2. Indian
3. Thai

Foods I never seem to get sick of:
1. Pickles
2. Chips and salsa
3. Macarons, especially salted caramel ones

Three words I'd use to describe myself:
1. Disciplined
2. Active
3. Planner

3 U.S. Cities I would like living in, besides Minneapolis:
1. Chicago
2. New York City
3. San Francisco

3 places in the U.S. that I haven't visited but would like to:
1. Boston/Cape Cod area
2. Grand Canyon
3. Outer Banks

Top things people say to me about my Charlotte move that I'd like to never hear again:
1.  "You don't like living in Charlotte?  Oh, well I know (insert random person) and they love Charlotte." (This is irrelevant.  Just because I love Minneapolis doesn't mean others should, and just because a person knows someone who likes Charlotte, doesn't mean I should).
2.  "You can't see it right now, but something good is going to come out of this experience of living in Charlotte."  (Sometimes bad things happen to people and no good comes of it.  I fully believe this will be the case for me.)
3.  "It could be worse."  (A quote I've seen recently that addresses this:  "Telling someone they can't be sad because others have it worse is like saying someone can't be happy because others have it better.")

Favorite forms of exercise:
1. Running
2. Bodypump or other strength training classes
3. Hiking

Favorite smells:
1. Freshly brewed coffee
2. Thanksgiving morning at my parents - love the smell of turkey and dressing cooking.  Yum.
3. Food being grilled outdoors.

Big vacations I'd like to take some day:
1. Biking tour of Croatia, like this trip (buy oh my gosh it's so expensive so will never happen)
2. Tour part of Italy and then spend a week in an apartment on the Amalfi Coast.
3. Tour southern France, spending time in Marseilles and Nice.

Ok your turn - what are your 3 favorite ethnic cuisines and what 3 words would you use to describe yourself.

Yay! Let's make boston/cape happen this summer! :)
I suck at describing myself... I am flexible and organized at work and not so much at home lol. I am definitely active and a planner too. My favorite ethnic food is Thai, Japanese and Italian :)

I don't think I can name my favorite ethnic food as I love so many, but Mexican & Italian are in the top choices, along with Thai & Chinese.
I never get sick of POPCORN!
I wouldn't like to live in a city, but near one is good for me. I prefer the relaxed, quiet, country life to the bustle of city life.
There are so many places I would like to visit that I can't name them all here, but Italy & Scotland are at the top of the list! I, too, like the smell of freshly brewed coffee, baking bread and popcorn!

I'm gonna echo Kelly's comment about making the Boston/Cape thing happen this summer. We're going to be there sometime in August (need to decide this weekend, so Sweets can put in his vacation request at work next week). Totally want to see Kelly/Eric/Max while we're there. Would be icing on the cake if we could overlap our visits!!! =)

Favorite cuisines:
1. Sushi
2. Cuban
3. Mexican

Self-imposed Description:
1. Nuts
2. Active
3. Thinker (as in, my mind is always racing with a million things, not as in I'm particularly pensive and deep)

I think I might choose exactly the same three words to describe myself, although maybe in this order
1. Planner
2. Disciplined
3. Active
And this is why we are friends :)

You should definitely do the Italy/Amalfi Coast trip! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I wish we would have had more time there.

I love your list! Three favorite ethnic cuisines -- Italian, Thai, Japanese.

Three words to describe myself -- happy, content, joyful.

This is a fun idea for a post! I'm sorry your week has been so stressful. :(

Three favorite ethnic cuisines would probably be Italian, Mexican, and umm... I don't know what else! I'm not a fan of Asian food (because I'm weird) so I can't really think of anything else.

Three ways I would describe myself: introvert, writer, and dreamer :)

I love Mexican, Italian and Chinese cuisines.

To describe myself? That's hard. Thoughtful listener, planner/organized, and currently a bit broken. :/

You mean Charlotte didn't make your list of favorite cities to live in? but why? this is such a surprise?

Get to the outer banks! Nags Head is amazing in the summertime, if you're still here when it warms up.

Love this! Okay, I may have to just steal the idea from you and do it on my blog!

That biking trip through the Dalmatian coast sounds amazing!!!

Grand Canyon trip will have to include your sister who lives in AZ, by the way! ;) I think we are going to try to go out there this summer...and that will be good to scope out the area! There are a ton of different options for touring & exploring!

I agree with you on your statements about irritating people say about you living in Charlotte. I hate when people tell YOU it could be worse. That is just their way to telling you that you shouldn't be upset. You have the power to feel how you want to feel, for crying out loud!

Okay - favorite cuisines for me:
1) Thai
2) Greek
3) Indian (I initially started just typing "Naan" instead of Indian. lol..crave carbs much?!

3 ways I describe myself:
1)Flexible (not physically)
2)Active
3)Focused

That biking vacation looks AMAZING! Maybe it will happen for you one day - I would like to do trips like that one day when we retire I think :)

My three favourite ethnic foods are probably the exact same as yours except I would probably edge out Indian food with Japanese (aka sushi) but Indian food would be a very very close fourth! I should send you the recipes from my Mexican cooking class, it was actually really easy to make those fish taco's at home and they were delicious!

I would use the words "Ambitious, fun and active" to describe myself.

Happy Friday!

Haha I LOVE that your three favorite smells all have to do with food :) Sorry for being so MIA on commenting but thank you for continuing to do so. The blog world is full of some pretty special people and you are definitely one of them. Three ethnic foods: Mexican, Thai, Chinese or maybe specific dishes from other types (ie lumpia, weak sauce curry, etc). Three words: giving, athletic, motivated. Have a great weekend!

Is French food considered ethnic food? If so, that'd be number 1 on my list, probably followed by Italian and Mexican.
