Today I am thankful for the library.
It's no secret that one of my most favorite hobbies is reading. I spend a ridiculous amount of time reading about books and researching what books I want to read next. But, I'm also really frugal and totally out of shelf space/room for book cases so as much as I'd love to go on a book buying spree, it's just not happening. Which is why I am oh so thankful for my county's public library system. It's a very well-utilized library system so there can be long waits for books, but something I want to read is always available - either in the physical book form or eBook.
I love reading so much so I am very thankful to have access to a library as it makes this by far my cheapest hobby!
Totally agree with this post. I can't imagine what I would do without the library. The 40+ books read in a year would definitely add up for me!
ReplyDeleteI love the library, I just wish ours was a little bit better. I think it has A LOT of outdated books so getting newer ones can be hard, and the digital loan program is not well thought out at all!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! And I love the library too. :) My library is only a block and a half from our house, which is an extra perk! Your goodreads activity is always such good inspiration for me to read more!
ReplyDeleteA good library is a great perk! Not having one in our town has made me into a "non-library" person! I've only been in the Wahpeton library once to find some tax documents I needed to fill out, so I don't even know if it is a good one or not! I am not proud of the fact that I am not a library person!
ReplyDeleteI love our library system, too! The eBook system is great, and they are pretty responsive on the wait list (usually). Definitely is a money saver! The only books I buy these days are by my most favorite authors or $1.99 or $2.99 sales on my Nook!
ReplyDeleteThis makes my library director heart explode with joy!
ReplyDeleteI love the library!!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my library too! Not only the free books but the every 3 month book sales where I can fill a bag for 6.00!
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOO grateful for my library too!!! Though I do need to figure out how to check out books on my kobo still.
ReplyDeleteI would go broke if not for the library! It's very rare for me to buy books anymore. My library system is GREAT and now I only buy books if my library doesn't have the book or I know it's one I'll want to keep.
ReplyDeleteYAY for the Library!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to figure out Charlotte's digital loan system. I love my kindle and it plus my iPhone this year have forced me forward when it comes to technology :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I am so glad that I rediscovered it while traveling... It has helped me to not have to cart books all around the world!
ReplyDeleteI used to want to be like Frances in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn; she tries to read ALL the books in the library, one by one!
That's an interest we share! And yes, I, too, am grateful that I can read and enjoy so many different worlds, places and stories!
ReplyDeleteI used to visit the library a lot as a kid. Once I got older I started buying books, but I spent a LOT of money on them. I really should get back into going to the library (other than just for university stuff).
