I literally was trying to figure out how to add them in my life because all of you guys raving and then boom, new job with a 35 minute commute AND I can listen during work AND I travel a lot during the day. I could never get behind doing it while running because it was hard to hear over the treadmill ha. But my favorite are Undisclosed, Book Riot podcasts, Stuff You Missed in History Class (loooove) and Starr Struck. I save those two as "treats" every week and try to listen to them on longer walks with Chloe so I can listen to them all at once. Also I have to admit I used to HATE taking Chloe for her evening walks because it used to feel like another chore but not that I listen to podcasts I look forward to our walks or hikes! It's blizzarding outside, and the wind is vicious. Christopher got home before me and started a stock and planned that we'd have chicken noodle soup for dinner - what a gem :-)Jolene - EverydayFoodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11490816021651698189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-44390671359202347612015-11-18T12:58:39.402-06:002015-11-18T12:58:39.402-06:00I don't listen to podcasts much but when I rea...I don't listen to podcasts much but when I read posts like yours I suspect I should!

Today I'm thankful for (ironically) a gloomy day. I know that sounds dramatic but they make working from home SO much less lonely. I feel like the podcast hosts are my friends/coworkers haha. I also love that I don't have to be glued to a computer to learn new things/hear thought-provoking discussion. I usually walk for an hour or more every day because I'm no longer bored on walks, which is another way they've helped working from home. I also totally agree about the texting and driving thing! I need to get into Start up!Carolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04793577490918023099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-61483744962916876992015-11-18T05:54:23.126-06:002015-11-18T05:54:23.126-06:00I'm in the same boat of lamenting the loss of ...I'm in the same boat of lamenting the loss of music because that was a big part of my childhood with two musician parents. My Husband and I commute into work together and listen to NPR and then come home separately so I either leave it on NPR (inertia) or listen to an audiobook or podcast. I also love audiobooks/podcasts for house chores like cooking, cleaning, and especially folding laundry.

I recommend the Dead Authors Podcast. Pretty irreverent but sooo funny. Then I listened to a ton while I was on maternity leave and now always in the car or cleaning. I also never listen to music anymore and I didn't realize it until I had to fill out a music questionnaire for Max at school and I was like shoot, I need to start listening to music in the car again!Kelly (She Wears a Red Sox Cap)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04415604174106394910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-20817269560338294362015-11-17T13:57:20.514-06:002015-11-17T13:57:20.514-06:00I love Alex Bloomburg's voice, too. Can you imagine if reading was your job!? I think I would like it. Also, I love Alex Bloomberg. He used to host Planet Money and I really like that show as well, although now it's not quite the same without him. He is still on TAL from time to time though.

I am glad you finally caught the podcast bug! I tried to tell you for years! Ha! Actually, I have several friends who I have tried to tell, but usually their eyes glaze over and the idea of having to download an app in order to listen etc just seems like too much work. Plus they don't think listening to someone talk for an hour sounds that great, I guess. However, it's the best thing ever and you feel that you are not wasting time when you are running or driving or whatever.

My favorites are still TAL, Planet Money, Freakonomics and The Moth, but I also listen to the news (Bloomberg), The Motley Fool, Start Up and two running podcasts, Trail Runner Nation and Ultra Runner Podcast.
