Hmmm let's see, travel rituals...Oh I love this! Hmmm let's see, travel rituals... I avoid the middle seat at all costs. I'm always more of an aisle seat person, unless I know the person/people sitting next to me. I always bring a backpack as a carry on as it can double up as a pillow (open your tray, put your backpack, lean on backpack like you are falling asleep in class!)... It's the most efficient way I have been able to fall asleep on long flights, as I hate the feeling of my head lolling to the side when I try and lean back!

What else... I avoid eating meat and dairy before a flight. I once had a chicken sandwich before getting on a flight to my brother's wedding and I was violently ill from the moment I got to the airport, straight through my 5 hour flight, and throughout that entire day. I missed an entire day of vacation. I take all precautions to make sure I'm not sick before boarding a flight now!

Melissahttp://www.melissalivinglife.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-62346654292866981312013-03-20T16:08:42.559-05:002013-03-20T16:08:42.559-05:00Ah, I love how practical you are when traveling. I typically bring a shoulder bag and stuff my purse inside, but occasionally take a backpack. And I am trying to do more carryon during trips so I don't spend the extra $$, but I also don't travel very often. I'm pretty guilty of trying to carry on things I'm not allowed to carry on - but, I'm a casual traveler now and am definitely not on the up and up with travel rules. In a former life, I would've nodded my head yes to pretty much your whole post. Traveling with a child changes everything.
- I ALWAYS check on bags now, because my carry on luggage is chock full of a million and one ways to entertain a toddler.
- I sometimes have to engage in conversation with my neighbor, because my son is usually up to no good and I'm very apologetic.
- I never get to sleep on flights anymore, because the toddler won't sleep and can't be left to his own devices, which should make for an interesting trans-Atlantic flight should that take place in the next year!Nilsa @ SoMi Speakshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08474642034399063234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-72868917455237346402013-03-13T13:50:48.792-05:002013-03-13T13:50:48.792-05:00I always overpack.I always overpack. The Many Thoughts of a Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12261949837343560602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131924142966006519.post-74734352034173295782013-03-13T11:15:06.456-05:002013-03-13T11:15:06.456-05:00I think we are travel twins!
