Honest Scrap

I was tagged by OH of OH! BOOKS...PAPER...REAL LIFE. The rules? I have to list "10 things others don't know about me".

Hmm. 10. That's alot - especially for someone like me that is sort of an open book. Here goes.

1. I have been told that I should never play poker. I do not have a poker face. You can easily tell when I am happy, sad, mad, frustrated, etc. It totally shows in my eyes and my facial expressions.
2. I used to have trouble with insomnia. Then it went away. Well, it's back with avengeance. Not fun. I kind of want to take a Benadryl every night - but I won't because I don't want to have to rely on something to help me fall asleep. I am hoping this is a passing phase.
3. I am really anal/OCD about the randomest things. Like towels. I have purple and gray towels in my bathroom - I will only use purple towels in the morning and gray towels in the evening. Bizarre, I know.
4. When I talk on the phone, I often stand in my kitchen and step on every other tile. Back and forth. Back and forth. See #3 - yes, I have OCD tendencies.
5. I love to sing along to songs when I am driving - but if I pull up next to someone in traffic or at a stop light, I will either stop singing or I will stop moving my lips because I don't want it to look like I am talking to myself!
6. I kind of hate Halloween - at least as an adult. I love celebrating it with my nephews. But you will never be able to talk me into going to a costume party. I will boycott it and show up in my usual clothing and say I am a librarian or something like that.
7. I have a twin! Kidding. I don't. But I feel like my little sister is my twin. We've been told we look alike, our nephews have trouble telling us apart, and we have a lot in common. I think out of the 5 kids in my family, we are the most similar!
8. I used to be a sun godess and layed out for hours. Not anymore. I am diligent about applying sunscreen because Skin Cancer freaks me out!
9. I can't stand ticking clocks. If I can hear one when I am falling asleep, I have to get up and take the batteries out because that ticking will drive me crazy!!
10. I adore knitting! It's one of my favorite hobbies.

So there you have it - still want to read my blog after reading about all my quirks?

I am supposed to tag people, but I am going to break the rules (for a change) and ask any of you that are interested to do this on your blog. I LOVE reading random facts about people!

  1. I love reading your random facts, Lisa! That is so funny about how you walk skipping the tiles of your kitchen--b/c I TOTALLY remember you doing that growing up with you! I can remember it so clearly! Funny that you still do it!

I think quirks make people far more interesting. And yeah, you definitely have some OCD tendencies!!

  2. You are so adorable!! :D I wish you lived close by so you could help me with my knitting... I do it for a bit and then I stop... then I do it again, and it goes on like that! I think what I'll do now is that when I watch movies at home I'll do it - every time! If not, that scarf will take me YEARS to do!

Also, I'm the same as you with insomnia, it comes and goes. Although right now, the problem is more that I wake up a LOT of times throughout the night. Really annoying.

Oh, and here's one about me: I'm the worst liar. I can lie if I have to but then I feel SO guilty and awful and it eats me up inside. It's retarded!

  3. I am so #1 too!! You can read everything by my facial expressions and I hate it!

  4. Haha, this is fun. I am just picturing you walking on the tiles of your kitchen - SO funny.

I think I am a compulisve multi-tasker. I CANNOT just sit down and have a phone conversation, I need to be walking around, folding laundry, cooking, or doing SOMETHING! I also always have my computer and the TV on at once and only turn off the TV if I *really* need to focus on something.

My granmdma is super crafty and tried to teach me how to knit several times but I never could get the hang of it!

  5. The sun goddess thing? Yup, that's me. I used to lay out all the time too!

And I don't really do Halloween as an adult either. i've only had one "fun," one since I've been out of high school and it was mostly thanks to the "Witches Brew."

Great list! And love that you started reading my mom's blog. She was thrilled when she received the first comment from you =) (My mom is OH/Darling)

  6. I liked these. #9 reminds me of the episode of Friends where Pheobe can't make her smoke alarm quit beeping.

  7. I can't believe you don't like Halloween!! I actually didn't know this was possible. Yesterday afternoon, my co-worker and I wasted a good hour and a half looking at Halloween costumes (I am sure we were supposed to be doing something else, but we got way too excited!!)

Hope your insomnia doesn't last too long. Maybe the excitement of the new job?!
