Happy Wednesday, everyone! The week is a-flying by. I had 6 hours of meetings yesterday. That is a lot of meetings. I have a love/hate relationship with meetings. They can make the day go by fast but when in the heck am I supposed to get my work done? *sigh*
Anyways, enough boring work talk. Here's something fun for y'all to do! My friend Meg (actually, she's my little 'sis - we were both DGs at UND!) posted this quiz on her blog yesterday! You look at pictures of rooms and say whether you live, love, or are ambivalent about a room - it then tells you what your personal style is!
My personal style is:
67% Traditional Country
22% Cottage Chic
and 11% Wine Country
I'd say the test is fairly accurate. I feel like Wine Country should have been above cottage chic. It still gives you an idea of my personal style. I can just see myself curled up in one of the chairs in the first picture with a good book or a knitting project!
Now if only my condo looked like one of these photos. I must say, I struggle with interior design. I can't even pick out a wall color. My best friend Brooke made the final call on all the colors of my walls, with the exception of my bathroom - and that color was selected by my realtor. I am the queen of indecision when it comes to small decisions like paint color.
Are you good at interior decorating? Or do you struggle like I do? Oh, if you the quiz be sure to tell me what your person style is!!
6 hours of meetings? you must be working for the same company I do now. it's nuts!
ReplyDeleteif you're 67% traditional country, i'm right there with you. i also have issues with too much cottage chic, but my whole house looks like the first pic. at least it did before my kids destroyed it.
What is funny is I almost posted about this as well. That would have been too funny. I loved the quiz as well.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I was 55% contemporary, 36% modern elegance, and 9% Nantucket. Very true. Now if I could figure out how to bring this all together!
ReplyDeleteCute! I look forward to taking this quiz!! How fun. I love home interior decorating - but can't do it! However my goal is to like...read a book about it eventually or something so I can learn the basics!! :)
ReplyDeleteI do not miss meetings. I struggled with sitting and pretending to pay attention. I am going to take the quiz when I get a chance. How fun! I like that wine country picture!
ReplyDeleteI would say that my main issue is that I don't want to spend time and money on decorating. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be too bad at it. Fortunately I think my mom was an interior decorator in her last life and it's one of her favorite hobbies so I just let her take over- she has great taste :)
ReplyDeleteWell clearly you have great style. This is a fun quiz.
ReplyDeleteI took the quiz and got mountain lodge sytle, which is funny because that not how I decorate but I would absolutely love a log cabin with exposed beams and big natural furniture.
ReplyDelete6 hours of meetings? That would drive me crazy. I dont think I could do that.
My mom does all my decorating for me. Ha! I like minimalist stuff and I like neutral colours with a splash of bright colour here and there. I LOVE accent walls, my mom's place is all a light cream colour and then each room has a different accent wall and I really like that!
ReplyDeleteFun, I will have to do that quiz later :) I like the first one a lot too it looks SO cozy there!
I have a feeling I'll be Cottage Chic but I'll let you know for sure. Honestly, I'd love to have any sort of room that looks remotely like that! Oh to have a house (and then money) for a decorator =)
ReplyDeleteI always say that I'd be great at decorating if someone gave me a few thousand to do it. But I've never had money to decorate, and my apartment looks like it too. So who knows how I'd actually do. I had fun taking this quiz and am going to post my results on Friday. :)
ReplyDeleteI was 100% nantucket...which didn't surprise me. i would love a beach house with white bead-board in every room! :) I LOVE to decorate!!!
ReplyDeleteDoing this quiz made me laugh a bit, as it is just quite American - the styles I mean. I like sort of traditional Victorian(bordering on Gothic) stuff, Art Nouveau/arts and crafts period, and country cottag-y stuff. Your top picture is the closest for me.
ReplyDeleteI like doing accesorising, but the actual decorating bit bores me once I've picked the colours.
I think your flat is quite stylish! Much more so than mine!
I'd love to be good at interior decorating but I haven't had a chance to put myself to the test yet... I think I have pretty good taste when I see a picture for example, but I don't know that I'd be able to recreate it at home??
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, 6 hours of meetings = crazy!!!
Oooh, I took it - I'm going to blog about this soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI took the test and ended up with 50% Nantucket & 50% Wine Country! Interesting, because I love the look of your first one and I never got to give my preference on that one! Fun test!
ReplyDeleteThe thought of decorating honestly baffles me. I like individual pieces, and I tend to pick up a lot of them. And they clash with each other. It's very frustrating. Decorating magazines which I used to read almost religiously do not help either. :) But I keep trying.
ReplyDeleteI love the top photo.
Thank you for your prayers for my family.
That is an awesome quiz, I can't wait to take it.
ReplyDeleteI concur on the meetings - total double edge sword. Great if you don't want to be in the office...but when does the actual work get done?
I just bought a town home in November and let me tell you what...decorating is hella crazy! Right now I have a couch - just got a coffee table and two small end tables. The things I don't have are TV stand (thus it sits on the nice new floors) a dining room table and chair (talk about eating in front of the TV a lot).
Oh cool! I'm 36% Rustic Revival, 36% Hollywood Couture & a little Contemporary. That's bang on!
ReplyDeleteNow are there grants I can apply for to buy the corresponding furniture? I wonder... lol
Great quiz - I loved it! I'm 38% Arts and Crafts, 38% Traditional Country and 24% Wine Country Style. Hmmm... I'd say that's fairly accurate.
