Ten on Tuesday

The questions for this week's 10 on Tuesday are mine, so you should participate! Or at least answer a few in the comments!!

1. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Toss up between finishing my MBA and finishing a marathon. Both were extremely mentally taxing, the marathon was obviously extremely physically taxing!

2. How much did you weigh when you were born?
I would have been 10 pounds had I not excreted on the doctor when I was born. Nothing like making my appearance known! My mom is one tough cookie - I think 3 out of 5 of us were over 9 lbs and she didn't even have an epidural or any drugs for 4 of the 5 births, including mine! I was her biggest baby, and incredibly ugly. No joke. I do not like to show people my baby pictures. My mom will probably comment and say that I was beautiful, but I look at the pictures and cringe. I look like a little sumo wrestler.

3. What is your favorite perfume?
Either Burberry Brit or Stella. I heart perfume and have about 4-5 different ones that I use on a regular basis.

4. How many siblings do you have?
I have 4 - 2 brothers & 2 sisters.

5. How many children would you like to have? (Or how many do you have?)
Well... if I wasn't nearly 29 and single, I would say 4. But um, yah. I'm nearly 29 and single, without a potential boyfriend on the horizon. So unless I have a set or two of twins, it's pretty unlikely. So realistically, I'll probably have 2. Sometimes I feel like it's pretty unlikely that I'll have any kids at the rate I'm going!

6. What’s the best class you took in college?
Totally going dorky on this one & I have to say Differential Equations. I LOVED this class. Most Engineering and Math Majors complain about how much they hate this class, but I loved it - probably a sign that I was meant to be a Math Major!

7. What was your favorite game to play when you were a child?
That's a tough one, but if I had to choose, I'd have to say memory.

8. What character on Friends are you most like?
I am totally Monica. I'm kind of a bit on the neurotic side at times and sort of anal about things.

9. Are you a phone person? (ie: Do you like talking on the phone?)
No, not really. I only talk to friends/family that live a great distance away since it is important to talk to maintain a friendship. But I am not the kind of person who calls up a local friend just to chat.

I feel like working has ruined the phone for me. I think I used to like talking on the phone and receiving phone messages before joining the business world. I think back to high school and the countless hour+ phone conversations I used to have with my HS boyfriends. So I must have used to like talking on the phone.

10. What was the best vacation you ever took?
It's a toss-up between a trip to Berlin/Munich/Prague with my best friend Brooke, my 3 weeks in Paris, which got me started on the whole blogging thing, or a trip to the south island of New Zealand when I studied abroad in Australia? I have been fortunate to have gone on many amazing trips!!

Come on - answer some of these so I can get to know y'all better!

  1. My favorite college class was Faith, Science and Religion. It was taught by a Jesuit, Father Carter, who was also a physicist. It was amazing to see him talk about social issues from three different perspectives. It made me a better critical thinker.

  2. You have definitely had some amazing trips! I think my favorite class was probably French class, not for the actual lessons though. It was taught by a nun who was such a fantastic lady. I greatly admired her.

  3. Three weeks in France? Dreamy! I'm jealous of both you and my sister now lol

My favourite class was "Philosophy and Modern Warfare" which I thought was going to be really lofty, and ended up being mostly about battle tactics, strategy, and watching war movies and being quizzed on which groups were which, why they were doing what, and pointing out the order in what initially looked like chaos.

And on the last day of class, the prof made the most amazing pitch for why we fight and how to end war that I've ever heard. Completely amazing.

  4. Favorite college class? International Political Economy; less to do with econ, more to do with world politics. Oh, and history of the 1960s. What a fantastic class that was!

I have NO idea what I weighed when I was born. That's probably sad.

Favorite perfume? Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue or Versace Pink Crystal.

If I have kids, probably two. If I were to have three I'd have to round it out to 4 though. I'm weird and don't like odd numbers that much =)

And I TOTALLY agree with you on the phone/voicemail thing. Unless it's a long distance friend I won't talk on the phone much either. It just plain annoys me. I'm also terrible about checking my voicemail on my cell. Totally blame work on this one.

  5. Good questions, Lisa!!

You were a good sized baby, props to your Mom!! I was actually the smallest of the three of us, weighing just over 6 lbs. My brother was over 8 lbs, he was the biggest. I used to always think I wanted lots of kids, but I think I'd be happy with 2 or 3 now. And, I'd say I'm most like Chandler..sort of sarcastic and telling jokes that aren't always properly executed.

What a random comment that all was..hope you have a good day!

  7. Oooh YOU made the questions this week! Now I wish I'd answered them. Might have to do it on Thursday.. Ten on Thursday perhaps, ha!

Anyways, I was also a big baby, 9 pounds. My mom had c-sections for both my brother and I! I want three kids, a boy and then two girls. The best class I ever took in college was definitely my pop culture class that I took second year or a history class. I used to LOVE history and if money/careers weren't a problem I'd maybe even major in it!

I HATE talking on the phone. I'd much rather talk online, email or text! Haha, I can also remember spending HOURS on the phone when I was in junior high. I must have scarred myself from ever wanting to do it again!

    Great questions, lady!!

  10. I would love to have 3 kids, but the better half wants two. Maybe we'll wait and see how the first one goes and then decide from there!

I agree with your comment regarding being a phone person or not. I am on the phone most of the day everyday of the week, so when I'm not working, I don't feel like talking on it.

Hope you have a great day!

  11. I weighed 5.7 oz when I was born. Had to wear these miniature premi diapers.

I love perfume, but am currently pretty much out of everything other than a few body sprays. WOuld like to buy Narciso Rodriguez for Her though.

Favorite childhood game would have to be candyland.

I have two younger brothers, one is 24 and the other is 16.

I'd like to have 2-3 kids.

I'm a fan of the phone and conversations with friends, although with texting I tend to do that more than calling someone up randomly.

  15. I used to like talking on the phone too and work has totally ruined it for me! In 2007 I worked in admissions at a college and it was primarily phone sales and it made me HATE being on the phone!

I like your questions! I think I might do this on my blog too! I will be sure to link you! :)

  16. Awesome questions. Here are mine answers to some of them.

    2. 6 lbs. 4 oz. at 3 weeks early. My mom was allergic to me.

    3. I'd also have to say Burberry Brit and also Burberry Brit Sheer.

    4. 1 sister (hmm... and 2 step-brothers and one step-sister, I guess)

    5. Maybe one or two... I'm still not sold on the whole birthing thing.

    8. Totally Monica. I drive my boyfriend crazy telling him to clean. But I'm not nearly as anal as see was.

    9. Not at all. I have a hard time hearing people on the phone. Plus it seems like people are always doing something else while talking, so I only get half their attention. I'm much rather get together in person.

    10. 10 day trip to France and Spain in high school

  17. I weighed 7 pounds and some ounces. My dear sweet loving husband weighed 11 pounds 3 ounces. He may be why I am not pregnant thissecond. haha.. Um ow??? My favorite trip was Jamaica. My favorite class was probably my intro to social work class or my history of the civil war class because of content not the exams or papers ugh haha.. I also loved my Novel as Genre class. Reading 6 books and discussing them? Sign me up. I want 4 kids but we shall see how the first one goes.

  20. Great questions! And great answers!

I'd say the thing there are two things that I'm most proud of. #1 is that I was able to lose the extra weight and keep it off.

And #2 is that I am a strong person and I love it! I'm so proud of how I jumped back up this summer and even though I didn't think it was possible I'm now stronger and happier than ever :)
