All this warm and sunny weather has me in 'summer mode'. Here is what I am looking forward to this summer:
- Weekends at my parents' cabin where I will sip fruity blender drinks that my mom concocts, play cribbage with my dad, and hang out in the water with my nephews.
- Wearing fun summer dresses and skirts! I wear dresses year round, but I am happy that I can now pack away the tights.
- Training for the Portland marathon. Training will kick off on June 7th! I am excited but a little nervous since I know how tough some of the training runs will be.
- Sipping cocktails on outdoor patios of local restaurants.
- Helping my nephews cast their fishing rods off the end of the dock. Every time I cast for my nephew James he says, "Did you get it in the honey hole, Lisa?" It's something he picked up from his dad! It always makes me laugh when he asked. The answer is no. I cast about as well as the 4 & 5 year olds do! Fishing has never been my forte...
- A late summer meet-up with some of my favorite bloggers!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
I'm looking forward to my wedding (even if everything goes wrong, the planning will still be over, whoa hoo!) and my honeymoon. I'm also looking forward to taking about 3 weeks off for the first time since college to have the wedding and honeymoon, yay.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely looking forward to warm weather, eating outside etc.
I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye to my kiddos from this year. They are by far the best group I've had and I'm scared for what is in store for me next year!
I love the fishing store, your nephews are so cute!
Your time at your parents' cabin sounds divine!
ReplyDeleteThis summer I'm looking forward to a wedding in Chicago (I've never been!), and going to the Midwest for a week in July to visit family!
That sounds amazing! I'm looking forward to working really hard at becoming a stronger designer- it's going to be nose to the grindstone, but in a fun way =)
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to planting my garden and working on the house a little- I want to paint my craft room in a bright & beautiful colour, and we need to take another run at the front yard. Last year it was so shady and we started so late that we couldn't get much grass growing, this year we're going to Get Very Serious about the whole thing so we don't have a barren dirt desert in front of the house lol
I love summertime dresses and skirts! I love fruity blender concoctions!! I love that my family does cookouts at the lake house.
ReplyDeleteFor my family spring is kicking off with my brothers wedding which is now less than a week away, on May 1.
Sipping cocktails in a summer dress - is there anything better?
