Greetings & Happy Friday! This has been a fun, but packed week for me. I totally over-scheduled myself and barely ran. Now I remember why I usually only accept social plans on one week night (v. 3 this week). I have a relaxing weekend ahead of me at the cabin, though. The temps should be in the 80s tomorrow! I can't wait to lay out on the dock with a great book. I have some wonky tan lines (I sort of have a farmer's tan) from last weekend in Tucson so I need to try to get rid of those - otherwise my dress options for the wedding next week are going to be a bit limited!
It's time to announce the winner of my giveaway from last week. Last time I did a giveaway, I told my sister Abby about my methodology for selecting a winner. I think it's a pretty common method but she thought it was so involved and said I must share it next time I do a give away. So here is how it worked:
1. I entered the names into an excel spread sheet. If you were a follower, I entered your name is 2 cells.
2. I then used the random number generator command in excel which is =Rand(). Excel then assigns a random number between 0 & 1.
3. I then sorted the number from lowest to highest, and ranked them from 1 to the highest (28 in this case).
4. I then used random.org to pick a number between 1 & 28.
And the winner is...
J from Morning Runner. J - send me an email at lisasyarns@gmail.com with your address so I can pass this onto the give away sponsor!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Any fun plans?
LOL I agree with Abby!!! Oh and excel spreadsheets scare me and that reminds me I have to take a self study class on it sometime today to finish that requirement...
ReplyDeleteI too keep social engagements during the week down to 1 if that because of the second job.. Happy Friday!!
Ohh, I thought maybe reading your methodology the second time around would seem simplified....
ReplyDelete......Nope!
You are amazing! I would probably do "einey meiney miney mo" to pick the winner ;)
Sounds like you had a crazy busy week. I'm not even going to try to sum how up jealous I am feeling about your weekend. I would give anything to be able to go to the lakes this weekend! Have fun :)
Excel scares me too! lol :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!!
Plans on weeknights are hard! Tuesday, wed and thurs I had stuff each night and it was not fun! I am so tired today! Hope you have a great weekend! I emailed you my address! I am so happy I won the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteCool! I like your methodology - it takes a special person to put so much thought into something like that! haha
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend. I am SO jealous of what you have planned. I'm sure mine is going to be nice as well however, some quiet time with a book might be hard to come by.
I did a always, sometimes, never post on my blog! Come visit!
I'm with Abby, that method is quite involved. You are a dedicated blogger. I just pull up random.org put in the number of comments I have and it gives me a number. =)
ReplyDeleteHave a splendiforous weekend at the cabin!!
I wish it was supposed to be nice this weekend...it's supposed to rain here all weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend at the cabin!
Wow! You are way more hardcore then me ;) I just enter the numbers in random.org and let them figure it out for me :P
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, lovely! Expect a message from me at some point. I'm attempting 5-6 miles, which seems DAUNTING to me right now!!
Your process strikes me as complex yet I can definitely see the finance major in you =) I just count up number of entries and throw into random.org.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the cabin!
I'm so ready for my trip to Indy.
Glad that your giveaway raffle turned out A-Ok. Congrats to J =)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're gonna have a great weekend!
Have a great time at the cabin with your book and the sun! So relaxing. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteyeah i just put the number into random.org
ReplyDeleteHaha- I just count the comments and enter it into random number generator- a little easier :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the cabin this weekend. I have no tan lines at all yet haha.
Also I hear you on being over-scheduled. I was definitely this week and this weekend is not getting better. Boo
