Ten on Tuesday

1. What is your favorite decor item in your house?
The Paris prints above my bed that I bought off Etsy. Love them.

2. What is your favorite hair product?
I don't really have one... Any suggestions? Especially for a girl with naturally wavy hair that wants straight hair?

3. Are you a good dancer?
Good? Probably not. But I don't let that stop me! I do have a sense of rhythm thanks to all of those years of piano lessons, though.

4. You get some good news, who’s the first person you call?
Most likely my mom. Or one of my close friends. Depends on the nature of the good news. If it's work related, I call my mom. If it's in regards to meeting a new guy or something like that, I tell a close friend because I think telling my parents about a new guy too early jinxes the relationship.

5. Would you rather take pictures, or be in pictures?
Definitely take them.

6. What is your shoe style?
I love all kind of shoes, but my favorite are bold-colored, pointy toed, heels. Like this one pair of red shoes that I own (that really need some TLC from the cobbler). I am a pretty conservative dresser so I rely on my shoes to make my outfits interesting.

7. How often do you eat out?
I try not to eat out very often because it's expensive and you really don't know what you are eating (i.e. does it have gluten in it?) or how many calories you are consuming. Lately I have been eating out quite a bit, though, and need to get back to cooking more!

8. If someone has food in their teeth, do you tell them?
Yes. It's awkward, but I would hate to be the person walking around with food in their teeth. If I notice mid-meal, I will wait until the end as it might 'work itself out'. But if by the end of the meal they still have food in their teeth, I will say something.

9. Do you fold your underwear?
Heck yes I do. I like order. It drives me crazy when people don't fold their underwear... or their socks. It stressed me out to see a drawer of chaos.

10. Milk, dark, or white chocolate?
Dark, please!

  1. Ah, #9, I'm guilty - I fold my hubby's but mine just get stuffed in a drawer!

  2. Tooo funny! I am the same way about folding clothes. Your comment about socks made me laugh BECAUSE I was folding clothes last night -- and Ryan and I got into this 5 minute ordeal about folding socks.

He thinks it's absolutely insane I fold my socks. So when I fold our clothes (which I do all the laundry, b/c I'm so anal) -- I fold his socks different than mine. I also have to fold his t-shirts different than mine!

2 OCD people should not be allowed to have combined laundry apparently....

    Fun ten-on-tuesday this week!

  3. I'm a dark chocolate girl too! And I love that you wear bold shoes- that's one of those things that I always feel out of sorts in, I'm all about neutral flats. Maybe someday :)

  4. It stressed me out to see a drawer of chaos.

    Hahahaha I love you!

  5. Being around someone with something in their teeth is totally awkward - I totally commend you on telling people. Because (I know this is terrible!!) sometimes I don't! Especially if it's a person I don't know very well. But, as you say, if it was me, I would want to know. So, I should probably just suck it up and start telling people. (Not that I'm around people with food in their teeth on a regular basis.)

  6. I ALWAYS tell people when they have something in their teeth! It's so mortifying to find out you've had something and nobody's told you.

For hair, I would recommend a shine spray and a really good quality salon straightener. I find most straightening products weigh the hair down and make it look a bit greasy but shine mist sprays are awesome!

  7. Don't ever look in my underwear drawer then! I do fold socks and my bras are all neat (like they are at victoria's secret store) but I just kind of lay my underwear in the drawer. I don't know why. I guess I don't like them folded as I can't see my options!? Funny cause everything else in my room is super organized: clothes hung up by color and season, drawers organized by sleep clothes/workout clothes etc. I wonder what it says about me!?

  8. I'm anal about folding clothes, too! Paul learned to fold socks, or roll them, in the Navy and it drives me crazy! I have not been able to change him after all these years so I just redo them if he folds any! And I love dark chocolate, too! I just never have been super crazy about white chocolate for some reason - reminds me of almond bark, I guess!

  9. I have the same style of hair as yours and I use the straightening/smoothing line from Aveda. It's a little pricey, but smells great and makes my hair look fantastic!

Telling someone they have food in their teeth or a booger in their nose are both very awkward. But I would want someone to tell me if I had either!

  10. Hehehehe good thing you didn't visit my apartment then ;) I like to call myself "messy-organized". You walk into my apartment and everything is neat and in it's place, just DON'T open any drawers or closets :D

So no, I don't fold my underwear ;)

And I am SO dark chocolate - all the way! I do enjoy white chocolate too, though. Milk chocolate is just meh in my books!

  11. I am posting this on both Abby's and your blogs today. Your great grandmother (our Grandma Veit) ironed her scrub rags. Honestly. And starched her pillow cases. I remember thinking my ears would be scratched when I stayed over night at her house! So, there may be something about neat laundry that carries down through the generations. Do you think?

  12. I've got to say that my favourite hair product is my shampoo - it actually does what it's supposed to and adds volume to my hair!

And I'm with you on the whole folding underwear thing. It's funny, because my underwear drawer and t-shirt/knitwear drawers are the only ones that are actually organised. Everything else is chaos. ;)

  13. Very rarely if ever fold my underwear. I put socks together, does that count as folding them haha. You probably would not enjoy my sock and underwear drawer hehe

  14. This is a fun one. My shoe philosophy is comfort first, then cuteness so that rarely means they are high heeled. I hate having bad feet. Like many others, i like your folding comment. I don't fold my "unders" but I do pair up and fold socks. I hate having to search for a pair when I just need to grab one and go.

  15. Ooooh I like this ten on Tuesday! I am going to borrow it for my blog!!

  16. I do the same with #9 for mine and Chris's!

  17. Oh, yes, Barb! She also ironed the dish towels! How I remember! It was hard to go to bed at her house because the pillow cases were so pristine! The rest of her house - not so neat, but the laundry was done to perfection!

  18. I love all the prints in your house! But the Paris prints are pretty fantastic.

I am not organized in any way, shape or form what so ever. So if you ever visit me, be prepared for chaos. =)

  19. This was fun to read!

Is it really bad that at age 28, my favourite shoes are still Converse? I can wear heels, so I figure i might as well be very comfortable!

I don't fold my underwear, it is the one drawer of chaos in my otherwise super organised wardrobe!
