Three Things Tueday

1. There is no Ten on Tuesday today because a) this is Chelsea's first week back from maternity leave so she's obviously got her mind on other things and b) she didn't have any questions to post. Send some her way if you like Ten on Tuesdays and have some burning questions you'd like to ask and/or answer!

2. My complexion is at an all time worst for some random reason. Is it the change of seasons? The stress of traveling and running the marathon? Has my body gotten used to the Tetracycline I have been taking for about a year now? Who knows. I am baffled. And so so so frustrated. It doesn't seem right/fair that my skin is worse now than it was when I went through puberty. My skin should not be at its worst at age 29 - well, I don't think it should be but my dermatologist said it's quite common for women to struggle with skin problems in their upper 20s/low 30s. I splurged and used some gift cards to purchase a Clarisonic at the recommendation of a friend and my esthetician. I am praying that it's effective. Otherwise I might start walking around with a paper bag over my head. :(

3. I've been a 5-day-a-week poster for the last year or so; that's going to change starting this week. My life is feeling quite full these days - with good things - and I just need to take a little step back and post a little less often. I hope you'll be patient with me as I learn how to juggle all the things I have going on in my life right now!

What are the top 3 things that are on your mind today?

  1. Of course! And oh my goodness - I seem to be going through an AWFUL skin phase lately too. I think it's wedding stress lol which does not bode well for photographs on the day!

  2. That's so lame about your skin! I had the same thing happen this year, and the dermatologist is my new best friend lol

Good luck with finding a new posting schedule that works for you- five days a week is mammoth, you're a rock star for being able to keep that up for so long! :)

  3. That's such a bummer about your skin and unfortunately I know it's all too common with women our age. I love my MK routine and it works well for me but I know it doesn't work for everyone. I hope you're able to get if figured out soon!!

  5. My skin is horrible right now!! I'm hoping it's the weather because it's driving me crazy and I didn't change anything in my skin routine or makeup. UGH!

  6. I'm totally on board with a new posting schedule, so long as I get my daily dose of lisa via what's app or something ;-) (joking, I know you have a lot going on!).

I've pretty much given up on a set posting schedule these days. Maybe hurts my readership/stats but oh well. It's a bit freeing!

  7. I have never left the terrible acne club. Well it's not always bad, some weeks are worse than others...take this week for example! So I feel your pain. I wish zits could be banished forever!!

  8. Top three things:

    Staying off my feet
    Staying positive
    Counting blessings

    That's all I got!

  9. Hurray for life full of good things.
Boo for hormones, which I always thought caused my skin eruptions during those years of my life.
    Enjoy the beautiful weather.

  10. Oh lord I hate acne. And yes, I agree it should definitely stop after puberty. What is this 30s acne? I don't get it. Anywho, enjoy your busy life and the barrister. I know that I feel like I should post daily, but it's just not possible and really if you don't have the time, your posts won't be what you want them to be.

    1. IT's freezing outside and we've yet to turn on our heat. UGh.
    2. I need a Halloween costumer (er, 2) by Saturday when we're going to our neighbors' halloween party. Ugh.
    3. I can't wait for the weekend. Coffee with my mom and grams!

  11. My skin has it's moments too... I hate it. One trick I have figured out is a good moisturizer! When my skin used to break out all the time I didn't want to put ANYTHING on it in fear of it breaking out more but once I started using good moisturizer day and night they just dried up and went away.
Hang in there with the posting schedule... I obviously flip flop a lot, but when I don't blog I really miss the people! I admire you for posting so regularly for so long!

  12. I hope the new skin thing helps, I think it will! I think that once your life starts to settle down a bit again you will also see improvement in your skin!!

I am a little sad (but totally understand) the dropping back from 5 days a week posting. It can be hard to keep up with such an aggressive blogging schedule especially when it feels like not a lot is going on, ya know? I have been experimenting with my posts and started posting a bit on the weekends here and there and it's renewed my passion. Blogging shouldn't be about schedules anyways!

    Miss you :)

  13. I'm going through the same thing with my skin. I don't know what's up with it since it's never been this bad in my life. For now, I'm trying to wash my sheets more frequently, actually wash my face/moisturize nightly, and keep my hands away from my face as much as possible. I don't want to start using any other products just yet, but I can definitely feel your pain!

  14. No problem- clearly I'm not posting as often as I used to anymore either :) Just check in often enough that I know whats going on with you or I'll start to get upset haha.

Sorry about your skin :( I have no advice- mine totally acts up when I am stressed no matter what I do!

  15. Tell me if the clarisonic works for you!

  16. Clarisonic? I've never heard of it! What does it do??

I'm sorry your skin is being a jerk to you right now. You don't deserve that! Maybe your hormones are just going wacko from the marathon, all the excitement, and crazy things going on lately?

    Hope it get better ASAP.

I will have to try to come up with a ten on Tuesday this weekend to send in Chelsea's direction!

    My life is consumed by:
    1. Passing meds and being a nurse.
    2. Icing my hip.
    3. Getting electric stim to my hip.

  17. Staying healthy
Thinking about which Christmas cookies to start backing come the first of Nov as I need to get a head start and... start thinking of what to buy people for Christmas gifts!

  18. Ooh I've heard good things about Clarisonic!

  19. I'm impressed with the amount of postings you do do and you comment all the time it is awesome! I'm not sure how you find the time to do that everyday. I didn't have too much trouble with my skin until late in college to after college. It has been an off and on thing. I've used clearsonic and it is pretty good I use the mild the regular one dried my skin out too much, proactive works pretty well too.

  20. I haven't been posting as much lately either just because I am SO busy with work all day and class at night and homework in between. I hope to get more into the daily blogging once school isn't so busy.

  21. 1. I love that you still managed to make the post title fit the pattern!

    2. My skin, though not terrible, is much more changeable now that it was when I was a teenager. The change in weather often affects mine(my skind is generally good but is very sensitive) and I have to wear barrier cream in winter or I chap and get spots. Obviously check with your dermatologist, but I use Clinique Weather Everything and it helps a lot.

    3. The rate at which you blog amazes me. I am much less busy than you' and I struggle to do it once a week sometimes. I will be waiting to read what you write, whatever the frequency is!

  22. My skin has been acting up as well. Not ideal in any way. Please let me know what you think of the clairsonic! I've heard great things about them, but the price always stops me.

You were a rockstar to be able to keep up the 5 days a week posts during marathon training!

  23. I peaked at the clarisonic - it looks rather brutal to me! I hope it helps, though! Good luck!
