{Confessions}...
- I have lived in my condo for nearly 10 months and I have yet to hang a single picture on the walls of my living room. I feel like the downtown view distracts people from noticing, though.
- I don't like Toms. I think their company mission of donating a pair of shoes for every pair purchased is awesome, but they are just not my style. I know I am in the minority on this.
- I also don't like sweet potatoes, regardless of how they are prepared (mashed, cut up & roasted, fries, baked). They are just too sweet for me - I am more of a savory person.
- I have zero interest in dating these days. My last experience with dating was not a positive experience and I have no desire to put myself back out there right now. I am hoping my attitude about dating changes after the CFA.
- Someone was talking about a 5 hour flight they recently took and my thought was - that sounds nice. I want a vacation so badly, even the thought of a long flight sounds appealing. My vacation in July can not come fast enough!
I can't get on the TOMS bandwagon, either! I've tried! But they just look man-ish...and the fabrics really aren't my style.
ReplyDeleteI hate the way TOMS look too! After hearing everyone rave about them, I went to try on a pair and couldn't believe how ugly they were. Love the company's donation policy, but I prefer better-looking shoes.
ReplyDeleteI haven't decided if I like Toms yet or not, I need to try on a pair to see how comfortable they are... I don't really care much what shoes look like as long as I can wear them all day without hurting my feet :)
ReplyDeleteI laughed that you haven't hung a single picture up. I am so bad at decorating... I probably wouldn't have any pictures up without Eric and now all our pictures are at his eye level haha, oh well!
Toms has some really cute flats that look nothing like their signature shoe--just sayin' ;)
ReplyDeleteI hate sweet potatoes. I know they're supposed to be some kind of super food and I want to like them but I can't even handle them in fry form. Blech, no thank you.
I am not a fan of Toms either- just not me style. We haven't put anything on the walls in our house either and we have lived there for almost a year. We need to paint so i use that as my excuse.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time hanging pictures up, too! I don't trust my decorating so procrastinate in that area! But I love sweet potatoes! And I've never been in a TOMS store so don't know how I feel about them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about TOMs. I hear they are SUPER comfortable, but I'm just not sure they are my style.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday!
I don't like Toms either. My husband bought a pair last year because he liked the whole 'give back' thing. They looked terrible on him (he's a big guy) and we sent them back. We get the catalog still and I just think they all look terrible! I do like sweet potatoes though, yum!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along Lisa! I haven't jumped on the TOMS bandwagon either, and doubt I will. I also don't think they are acceptable for work, unless your work is super casual.
ReplyDeleteHanging pictures and choosing 'art' for a home is hard! At least I struggle with it
Ha! How funny! I posted confessions on my blog today as well :) What a coincidence!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree on the TOMS (I like them in theory, but when I tried them on, I just didn't like them on me at all) and I couldn't agree more about the vacation. That sounds nice right about now!
I haven't tried TOMS but when I was in Argentina, all the peasants wore those shoes. You can get them there for a couple of dollars. So I guess I stray away from them because I don't really think they are worth it, even though the giving back thing is nice. I guess I am on the fence. I tend to not like things that are so trendy though. So I guess I don't really like them. But if other people want to wear them, great. I mean, I wear my running shoes around town when I am feeling one of those days.
ReplyDeleteI like sweet potatoes, but I am not a fan of Pomegranates.
I eat Cottage Cheese right out of the container and then put it back in the fridge.
You're not alone. I think Tom's shoes look hideous. But, like you, I like their mission, so I tend to just keep my trap shut.
ReplyDeleteAlso? I hate sweet potatoes, my dear kindred spirit. =)
I'm ordering a pair of TOMS ballet flats next! I will let you know what I think of them. My favourite thing about regular toms is how comfy they are so I hope the ballet flats are as well!
ReplyDeleteLOL at the thought of a 5 hour flight sounding good. You do need a vacay! Soon, soon!!
Who knew Toms would spark such a debate? I am a fan of them, and am planning on buying more and the wedges for my wedding shoe which I'm super excited about. I also understand why some people aren't fans and I think that's totally ok!
ReplyDeleteConfession: I'm addicted to watching One Tree Hill on Netflix.
Sweet potatoes are probably one of my top 5 favorite foods. I could literally eat one every day and be happy.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's only like a 3 hour flight between New York and Minneapolis.
Great post idea!
ReplyDeleteToms ~ Im ambivalent, the idea is great but I've heard they do nothing to keep your feet from the elements. As a recent Seattle immigrant, I am very cognizant of protecting my feet from wetness, I hate cold wet feed!
Sweet Potatoes ~ Love love love them!! How do you not like sweet potato fries?! You are crazy!!
Travel envy ~ couldn't agree more :)
I'm completely with you on TOMS. I love what they stand, but would just never wear them. I know they came out with sunglasses lately, and they donate a pair of reading glasses for each pair purchased. I have no idea what they look like, but if I did support them, that's probably how I'd do it.
ReplyDeleteI have a confession....what the hell are Tom's? At first I thought you were talking about the person....
ReplyDeleteI don't hang pictures. I let my level holding, tape measuring anal retentive hubby handle that and he also hates hanging things!
I want a trip too. Need to just get out of Tucson!!
Abby's comment cracked me up because we all know you don't like the name Tom as well! I like the kids TOMS (Hoping to buy the pink glitter ones this fall for Elle)and I like their wedges.
ReplyDeleteI am also hit and miss with sweet potatoes. Elle love them so I have been baking her lots of sweet potato cubes. So they are kinda growing on me but mashed potatoes will always win!
Umm.. I still watch Gossip Girl and I'm how old?! lol
I'm really liking these confessions posts that have popped up in my Reader this week!
ReplyDeleteI didn't like TOMS until I tried on a pair and then couldn't take them off because they were SO freaking comfortable. Now I'm quite a convert. I bought "fake" TOMS to try the difference and without realizing, my feet definitely felt it.
I also know what you mean about the no-dating thing. Although for me it's more like I just don't have any time and haven't met anyone, and that doesn't necessarily UPSET me. I'm sorry you have a crappy experience though. Definitely focus on your CFA studies for now!
I don't like Toms either ... except their wrap boots. Those are cool :-)
ReplyDeleteYou need to get some photos on your walls stat, woman! Hang in there - your vacation will be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteI HATE Toms! Some people can pull them off but I think they're the ugliest shoes ever!
Haha...honestly, I am TERRIBLE about decorating. I feel totally clueless. I like how things look in magazines, but have no clue how to recreate them affordably.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I used to despise the look of toms, but living in a college town I see them all the time and they really grew on me.
I can't believe you don't like sweet potatoes!!
I'm with you on Toms. Great mission, can't like the shoes.
ReplyDeleteConfessions:
* I know it's bad for me, but I pick at my face.
* I find it trying to deal with some of my friends.
* I'm coming up on a year in our apartment, but am just getting stuff hung how I want it and haven't even started my craft corner.
* I miss the single days where it was ok to have cereal for dinner.
Thank you for sharing your confession regarding TOMS! YES! I have felt the same way for months, and have felt like I could never admit it to people without sounding like a jerk! I support their mission, but man, are those things ugly!
