First off, thank you for all the kind, sweet, encouraging comments out there. I am so thankful that I have a group of awesome readings that are full of insight and encouragment!
I hope you all had a good week! I have my nephew/Godson's First Communion on Sunday so am excited to see family this weekend. Since I won't have a chance to study on Sunday, I took today off from work to make up for that. I'll put 8 hours in, so it doesn't really feel like a 'day off', but it is what it is. It pains me to use vacation time to study, but I guess sometimes as an adult you have to use vacation time for things besides, well, vacations.
After the heavier post yesterday, I thought I'd close the week with something lighter. Here is a brief list of things I believe...
I believe
- my weight and pants size are the least interesting things about me.
- a meal isn't really complete without a salad.
- vacation time is meant to be used - and I use every last bit of mine!
- that unless your size is expressed in terms of months, you shouldn't wear a romper.
- in all things in moderation. I don't eat gluten and avoid dairy most days, but besides that there really are not any foods that I won't let myself have.
- there are some things you should vent about to a friend, sister, or parent - not on facebook.
- you can do anything that you set your mind to.
- airplanes should be no-talking zones. Well, unless I get seated next to a handsome guy (which never happens). Then maybe I would talk!
- the summer Olympics is the best sporting event (or series of sporting events) ever!!
Your turn, what do you believe in?
Oh my gosh Lisa, I was laughing so hard at some of these I was snorting! I mean, "...that unless your size is expressed in terms of months, you shouldn't wear a romper." HAHA! Totally agree!
ReplyDeleteI believe....
-that a glass of wine and a piece of chocolate can do wonders in fixing a problem
-that being able to build a friend's confidence up (if they're nervous about something...say...a job interview...) is a skill everyone should have
-in being grateful for the every day moments
-in leaving long comments on blogs :)
-in valuing yourself and not settling - in a relationship, job, or even choosing clothes
-that less is ALWAYS more
Happy Friday! Hope you get lots of studying done!
I am SO excited for the olympics, and I couldn't agree with you more on the romper situation! I have yet to see someone over the age of 2 who looks cute in one. Good luck studying and I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I agree with you on most of these, especially rompers. ;) Too funny!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! A full day of studying but also some fun things in store for you today. Yay!
I can't wait for the summer olympics! And yes, everything in moderation. I have trouble being moderate sometimes, especially with my workouts.
ReplyDeleteFun list - you can put just about anything you want into a list like that! OK, let's see... I believe ...
ReplyDelete- every day should be filled without regrets.
- every night should end on a good note.
- every week should end with a cold beer.
- every month should include a 4-5 day weekend somewhere fun (and employers should provide ample vacation time to allow for it!).
- every year should something fun and frivolous to celebrate your own birthday.
- oh, and babies should sleep through the night starting from birth (you never said there had to be truth behind these beliefs - ha!)
LOVE the airplane one. I totally agree. I don't like it when people talk on airplanes either. Well, except for the one time I sat next to the band Air Supply and the drummer was totally hot. (This was way back in 2007.)
ReplyDeleteI believe...
* that a hug from a friend, family or loved one can make a day better instantly.
* sometimes a run can change everything
* it's totally ok to cry at cheesy movies and TV shows
Happy weekend! <3
I laughed out loud at the romper thing. AMEN. Good gravy.
ReplyDeleteI might steal this post idea!
So does this mean I have to get rid of my romper? Man, you are such a party pooper.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the airplane thing. I think this bleeds over into grocery store lines etc. I am buying an orange. Yes, I know it's a nice orange and the oranges this year have been very nice; leave me alone.
I believe that dogs should be kept on a short leash. That a cup of coffee and a book can bring me joy at any time of the day. That being on time is a sign of respect. That travel can make small minds larger.
Have a great weekend!
GREAT post! I love Nilsa's comment that every month should include a long weekend! YES!
ReplyDeleteI believe:
- that laughter really is the best medicine
- that you should be happy with life 90% of the time. If not, something should probably change.
- certain friends are just as important as family and sometimes water is thicker than blood
Happy weekend love! XO
I also STRONGLY believe in using vacation time! I think everyone should. I also believe that everyone deserves to play hooky once in a while. It's nice to have a spontaneous day to relax every once in a while :)
ReplyDeleteOooo! I love this!!!
ReplyDeleteI also believe everything in moderation is the key. And I believe this because every patient I care for over the age of 95 I ask "what's the secret to your longevity?" And they ALWAYS say "all things in moderation"
I love your romper comment. Though I didn't know what a romper was, so had to Google it! Haha! Ahhh your little SIS is so lame!
I believe a hot shower and fresh sheets are close to godliness.
I believe a hard, sweaty workout and a bowl of salad will cure a hang over.
I believe laughter is the best medicine for the soul. As are good, hot showers.
A camping trip is ruined without ketchup, mustard, and licorice.
Oops, i repeated myself on the hot showers! A shower is like a drug after a day at work for me.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post!!
ReplyDeleteI believe....
-in finding comfort in discomfort
-in becoming fully engrossed in a series of books
-that a wagging tail can cure any bad day
-...or a glass of red wine ;)
I had to google what a romper is haha, and I'm still not sure I get it. It's interesting that you think no meal is complete without a salad... I hate salad and would prefer no meals include salad haha, on the other hand I believe bread, potato or some kind of starch should go with all meals... hmm this probably means you will live a lot longer than me!
ReplyDeletePS. I loved yesterday's post and I didn't have a chance to comment but I loved it :)
Have a wonderful weekend with your family!!
ReplyDeleteI also agree that every single vacation day should be used (as you get so little over here as it is!). Vacation/relaxing/recuperating is SO IMPORTANT and vital for your work performance! :)
I believe that there should be no politics on billboards because it irritates me and I complain about it to my mother, thankfully, I am smart enough NOT to put it on facebook but if I see this particular billboard one more time I may scream.
ReplyDeleteHa - I like the bit on rompers. I like all of these in fact. I don't have many convictions that I believe in like that. Not sure why. Perhaps because I'm a little too concerned about making the wrong decision. Blargh. working on that. ANd the manfriend always reminds me that whatever decision I make will be right. Something to keep in mind when wedding planning.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for thinking a meal is not complete without a salad ... I really need to eat more salads.
ReplyDelete"unless your size is expressed in terms of months, you shouldn't wear a romper."
ReplyDeleteHAAAA! Thank you for that!
I completely agree on no talking on planes. Although the one time I willingly made an exception was when I did sit next to a cute guy. (And well.. it's the only time I remember that happening.) This was back in college, and he was going to school at the naval academy. We did wind up exchanging numbers and talking for a few months after. But we never actually met again. Although I think we may still be fb friends.
