Family Wedding Fun

Last weekend a cousin on my mom's side of the family got married.  We hadn't had a wedding in the family since my sister's nearly 3 years ago, so we were all overdue for some wedding fun!  It was great catching up with family - 6 of my mom's 7 siblings were there, as well as lots of cousins and their kids.

I am so glad this wedding fell on the weekend after the CFA so that I was able to attend and really enjoy myself.  I did a lot of dancing with my nephews - they are at an age where they LOVE to dance, so we were out on the dance floor quite a bit.  Here are some pictures from my fun weekend!

My sister Emily and Charlie.  I really can not believe he is one.  Seems like Emily JUST had him!

Andrew, Matthew, James, and I before the wedding
Matthew moved so fast on the dance floor, it was tough getting a picture of him.

James and Andrew had a lot of fun dancing, too!

Me and my dance partner, Andrew.

Me and my 2nd dance partner, James.

My parents got in on the fun, too.
As you can see from the pictures, it was such a fun weekend.  In addition to attending the wedding, I went out with friends on Friday night for a post-CFA celebration, and caught up with cousins on my dad's side of the family on Sunday.  So it was a FUN, full weekend.  My life became kind of small this spring as I hunkered down to study - but weekends like this remind me just how full and wonderful my life really is.

Do you like dancing at weddings?  I am not one to go out dancing on a weekend, but I love dancing at wedding dances - especially with my nephews!

  1. Such adorable pictures! Your nephews are the cutest! I love family weddings and so far we have only had two and my cousins and I have been plotting who will be next. I think it will be a few years though. I'm so glad you had a super fun weekend, you definitely deserved it!

  4. LOVE the photos. Your family is so handsome/photogenic. You know, I think that's the first time I've seen a photo of Emily? And your parents, just the cutest.

  12. Those photos are so cute! I LOVE to dance after getting a few drinks in me. My wedding will be the first wedding I've been at since May 2010!! But I do enjoy a good wedding dance :)

My uncle's new fiance emailed me a few weeks ago saying my little cousin (who's 6) is "practicing his groove" for my wedding. Hehe. I'm excited to see all my little cousins and our nieces and nephew out on the dance floor at my wedding!

  14. My nephew was a little dancing machine at my brother's wedding last month. I had so much fun watching all the kids do their dancing! They make it so fun. I wish everyone danced like little kids, ha. No booty dancing. Just crazy kid-dancing. I think I would be more apt to join in!

Looks like you had the perfect weekend for after the CFA stress! Wonderful!! :)

  15. I can't tell you the last time I really danced at a wedding (probably not since our own!). These days, when we attend weddings, we usually only stay through dinner and then head home to relieve the babysitter!

  16. Great photos! What a fun time. I do like to dance but don't like getting out in front of people. However, usually if it's a family wedding, I don't care. They all know how silly I can be already! Also, if I have a couple of drinks I am more likely to get out there as well...

I am so glad you are DONE with the studying! Get out there and have some fun, girl! Summer is here!

  17. It looks fabulous, Lisa! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it study free. Dancing -- I love it. Sometimes it takes a bit to get Rick out there, but I do my best!
