Both Amber and Kelly did this lately (post idea via Jenna's blog), and I thought it was a fun way to catch up on what is new in their life, so I thought I'd play along!
If we were having coffee this morning...
... I'd tell you that I feel really blessed to have so many people in my life that made me feel so special and loved on my birthday. The number of emails, cards, texts, tweets, and facebook messages, as well as in person birthday celebration with Phil, friends, and family really made my day.
... I'd tell you that it's been a month since I found out about my relocation and that I am certain I have cried more tears in the last 30 days than I have in my any other month of my life, and that I wish that a) I wasn't a crier and b) tears were something that had an on/off switch as I have cried at some rather inopportune moments.
... I'd tell you that I am trying to fight the feelings of sadness by creating a virtual inspiration board with pictures of the things I want to do and the places I want to visit to help spark some positivity and excitement about the move!
... I'd shift from these heavier move-related topics and tell you I am looking forward to celebrating Valentine's Day with Phil next week, hosting a dinner party next Saturday, and spending a day with my nephews next Sunday!
... I'd tell you that I am really excited to register and start planning my trip to Chicago for the marathon! I'll be running it with Amber, Anais, and Lauren, and Kelly will come spectate! And Nilsa lives there! So there is lots to look forward to for that trip! I may or may not already have my long runs scheduled in my planner. ;)
Your turn! If we were having coffee this morning, what would you tell me?
We are so brain twins because I did this post today too!!!
ReplyDeleteIf we were having coffee this morning I would tell you how over this week I am, and how I want today to simply fly by. I would also tell you I can't wait to catch up with our knitting video chat Sunday night!
Happy Friday!

ReplyDeleteOh, the third point makes me so happy! I really hope Charlotte turns out to be better than you expect. :)
ReplyDeleteLet's see... if we were having coffee together, I would try to cajole you into coming to our Bloggers in DC weekend, haha, and also pick your brain about dating & boys! ;)
Happy Friday!
Aww I'm glad you had such a good birthday! And I think that making lists and ideas of fun things to do in your new area is a really good idea!
ReplyDeleteI love these coffee date posts. I may have to borrow the idea as well!
ReplyDeleteNicole (@nicolemariesays) and I have been talking about running the Chicago marathon and I'm pretty sure you just convinced me that we need to sign up. :)
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you I was looking forward to going to a Greek festival in Sarasota this weekend as well as a day of biking in Boca Grande. We would talk about knitting and I would ask how your study schedule is working for you.
ReplyDeleteMiss you!
If we were having coffee together this morning, I would talk about the upcoming winter storm that is expected this weekend, and how happy I am that it is Friday and a weekend of rest and relaxation is in the picture! We would also discuss your move to Charlotte and I would commend you on looking for the positives! A year seems like a long time but in retrospect, they fly by so fast! Love you, my dear!
ReplyDeleteI would tell you about going to Houston and how I bought my friend a Ryan Gosling plate.
ReplyDeleteFor all the reasons you stated, I so very wish we could have a REAL coffee date sometime soon. And if we did have coffee, I'd tell you how lucky I am to have you as a friend. =)
ReplyDeleteI will be spectating at Chicago too!!!!! I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteI love this meme. Planning on doing it myself on Monday! Also excited to read about your marathon-training, since I'm also getting more into the running game. :)
ReplyDeleteIf we were having coffee the first thing I would say to you would be, "Blech! I hate coffee, why am I drinking it!? Can I please have tea?"
ReplyDeleteI can wait for an in-person coffee date. it's going to be epic!
ReplyDeletedreading my in-laws visiting (But I guess you already know that) and excited to take Elle to Sea World in March!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend- this was a cute post
Love this! I think I want to copy this. I have been having "bloggers block" lately. Can't come up with ideas to talk about!
ReplyDeleteLove your virtual inspiration board!! I hope you run out of tears too!! You will eventually, and the hurt will wear away I promise.
If we were having coffee I'd tell you how pumped I am to do Ragnar! I got the best legs 0700 am (8.5 mi), 9:30 pm (7 mi), and 5:30 am (4 mi).
I'd tell you I need help figuring out what the hell to wear for Ryan's graduation in 4 weeks.
And I'd vent about how I had someone complain to me that "I'm so sad that I have no plans this weekend, how depressing". I would kill to have A weekend, haven't had one since Christmas time -- and won't have one until my Ragnar race Feb 22.
;) happy friday, friend! i will see what my schedule looks like for the marathon and see if a train trip down to chicago is feasible for me to spectate all of your awesomeness!
ReplyDeleteI love that you did this too :) I'm definitely going to be doing it again at some point!
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad about the amount of times you have cried and just how hard this has all been for you. I know I would be a complete and total mess if this were me, so I actually think you are dealing with this very well! Can you send that virtual inspiration board? I'd love to see what you can do down near Charlotte, and also I need to get excited for you! :) I hope you have a great weekend!
Haha I saw this and did something similar (but altered :)). A) Cry gal...my old therapist always encouraged me to cry because she said it was the bodies way of releasing the grief that our words were incapable of expressing. So let them fall and know that eventually they'll stop. B) LOVE the visual inspiration board. That's a WONDERFUL way to motivate yourself about what's to come...and you never know...I'm sure there's a whole lot more possible than what you're even imagining!
ReplyDeleteI'm a crier too, and always wish I wasn't! That's awesome that you're making a Pinterest board though to focus on the positive. And Chicago sounds like an awesome trip to look forward to! I loved the Chicago Marathon!
ReplyDeleteI'd tell you that I am happy. So happy, and so in love. I'd tell you that I'm excited to see my mom next weekend, and to get out of town for a few days. I'd tell you that I am procrastinating working on my thesis, because I am so sick of it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute idea for a post! Valentine's Day sounds like fun for you two, and also sounds like you're really trying to make the best of your current situation. Good for you <3
ReplyDeleteThe quote "the days are long but the years are short" came to mind reading this - your year in Charlotte will most certainly fly by even though I know it doesn't seem like it. I think creating a virtual inspiration board is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteIf we were having coffee this morning I would tell you how TIRED I feel today out of nowhere. Probably because I had a crazy busy weekend and it's that time of the month for me. I'd also tell you I'm mad at myself for sleeping in and missing my favourite Tuesday morning yoga class today but that maybe it's what my body needs!
I just had coffee with you over on my blog today! I love these posts! I didn't know you were all running Chicago! That sounds like a lot of fun! I pretty much already told you all my woes, except maybe some that I probably shouldn't put online! We will have to have a real coffee date some time soon!
