Christmas Wish List 2013

Well it may not look a lot like Christmas around these parts what with the 70 degree temps we're having this week (which is about 20C) but Christmas is definitely around the corner!  I always like to see what is on others' wish lists, so I thought I'd share the items on mine!

I would love noise cancelling earphones like these.  I like that they are smaller than the huge Bose ones, but still apparently work well according to my prior boss.  I take so many flights a year (about 70 this year!!), so I could really use something to block out the noise around me.

My parents got me a comfy pair of moccasin-style slippers last year.  I wear them so often that I have worn through the lining and am in need of a new pair!

I do a lot of cooking so would love a spoonrest, like this cute one from Anthropologie!

I make Mexican food quite a bit since it's very GF friendly, so would like a tortilla warmer as corn tortillas break really easily if you don't warm them up before filling them.

My aunt has both volumes of Mastering the Art of French Cooking, which we use to plan our menu for Julia Child Night.  I think it's time for me to have my own copy!

And of course, this Starbucks-loving girl is always happy to receive gift cards to fund my latte addiction!

What items are on your wish list this year?

  1. I didn't even know what the brown thing was, and I was like "oh! a tortilla warmer! that's brilliant!" Ha!

Not too much on my wishlist - one of the things I really want is a year pass to Mount Vernon (since it's my happy place!) and I think my mom heard me when I mentioned that in passing so we'll see! :)

  2. I've been waiting for this list!
I haven't compiled a list this year, but just hope my family is warm, happy and safe! My biggest wish is for a kitchen elf to do my Christmas baking and candy making! I love to do that but time just runs out! Oh, and an elf to send out my cards, and one to wrap the gifts, and might as well ask for one to decorate! What the heck! Merry Christmas!

  3. Good noise canceling headphones are the best invention EVER. I wear mine at work, on the bus, on the plane, pretty much all the time. They're amazing.

  4. Great list! I have not even THOUGHT about my list this year. I would really love a Kitchenaid Mixer but that is quite an extravagant gift so I kind of doubt I will get that. I would also never say no to a Starbucks gift card or an infinity scarf, though I've really started collecting a lot of scarves now!

  5. I'm so bad with thinking of gifts that I want. I know that Chris was stressing about a birthday present for me and so I want to drop hints to take the pressure off, but I honestly couldn't think of what I'd want. Luckily he told me the other day that he thinks he knows what he's getting me so we'll see...

  6. The Tortilla warmer is an awesome idea! love it.

I don't have a lot on my list...a new Nook cover, a Clairsonic face thing, and a planner for 2014!

  7. We have a spoonrest and I can say it's a good investment :) Plus that one is cute!

I have to do some searching to see what I want. I've got so much for the baby lately I feel like I've already got so many new things!

  8. Noise cancellation headphones sound like a great idea...sometimes a girl just needs some quiet time...and some Starbucks too, of course!

  9. I don't really have a wish list, but I do need some new clothes and shoes/boots, but I will probably pick those out for myself in the new year. As for gifts, I told my family they could get me whatever, because I couldn't think of what I wanted.

  10. I should look into noise cancellation headphones for work! I need complete silence when I write and it's hard, because my cubicle is right next to the break room so I always hear so many conversations! And I work next to chatty guys, haha. :) Usually, I'll listen to music but sometimes that is distracting for me when I need to focus.

My biggest wish this year is for an iPad Mini. I want a more interactive e-reader and I basically told my mom that's all I want and I know I'll get it. Makes for a not-so-exciting Christmas, ha, but oh well! :)

  11. I love the Anthropologie spoon rest. We don't have one, and always wind up putting spoons on the counter and getting it dirty. So while it's probably not something we need, it would definitely be nice to have.

  12. I definitely want some slippers with the cold snap we've been having. It's a real shame I don't own any! My feet are always cold, even in thick socks. I have wanted the Bose headphones, but don't have as much of a need for them as you. Otherwise, there is a pair of frye's on my wish list, but that's likely something I'll get myself in the coming months as they are too spendy for someone to get for me. We aren't really doing presents with my family or Pete and I. We are however doing a family getaway to Bend!

  13. I love that spoon rest! I should acquire one so that I can be more sophisticated than just putting spoons on a paper towel or a plate.

  14. I need those headphones. I always buy cheap ones and they always go out of one ear; it's so annoying, especially since I use mine every day!

On my list: new ski pants, new undies, printer ink, running socks... it's a very practical year this year.

  15. Love your wishlist! Mine includes ear buds, too (but cheap ones for when I run), Fiesta dinnerware (to help round out a collection Mandy started buying for me a few years ago)and gift certificates so I can buy new pants.
