1. I have my appointment with a sleep specialist today. I've been struggling with sleep for a long time, so I'm classifying this appointment as a good thing in my life because hopefully I'll be one step closer to sleeping better after this appointment.
I hope the person I meet with can make some sense out of my sleep log and has some solutions. Averaging < 6 hours of sleep is not enough for me! |
3. Speaking of travel, I get to travel to Kamloops to visit Amber in just under a week! I'm really excited to spend 5 days with her exploring her area of British Columbia. The pictures she posts are so stunningly beautiful so I can't wait to see the area with my own eyes!
4. I didn't mention this before, but the weekend of my triathlon, I was side-swiped by a car when I was on the way to the race expo. The damages were just cosmetic so it's not a huge deal but I was relieved to find out this week that the other insurance company is accepting liability so I won't have to pay anything out of pocket. The other guy was 100% at fault as he changed lanes without looking and did not see me, but you just never know what is going to happen when insurance companies are involved!
5. I am wrapping up my 6th week of work and am really liking my new job! It's crazy to me that it's already been 6 weeks. Time flies when you enjoy what you do and the people you work with! This past week I got to visit our HQ in Chicago, which was a jam-packed whirlwind trip, but I was able to fit in an early morning run along the lake. Last time I was in Chicago, I was struggling with RA and unable to run so I especially appreciated being able to run on this trip!
Chicago, you are so pretty! |
7. We have a fairly quiet weekend on deck. We're staying in tonight and I will make this pasta dish for my olive-lover, tomorrow I'll run 20 miles with my club (eeks!) and on Sunday morning I'll volunteer at a trail race my running club is putting on. Besides that we have no other plans which I am so happy about.
What are some good things happening in your life right now?
I like this list!! With being on a super tight budget with making no income, I've come to really enjoy having people over for home cooked meals/dinner. It's become my brunch!
ReplyDeleteSO excited for your visit!!! I hope our weather smartens up in the next week but regardless we will have a great time and spend lots of time outside -- rain or shine!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the 20-miler run, gosh it sure feels like your long runs happened so quickly this marathon training cycle!
Good list and glad good things are happening. Hope the sleep doc can help and very relieved your car is fully covered. No one needs that extra expense!
ReplyDeleteAll fantastic things to be living (minus the sleep issues). Glad that you don't have to pay anything out of pocket for your car but such a pain! Hope your 20 mile run goes well!
ReplyDeleteAll the very best of luck with your sleep consultancy. Not getting enough sleep is such a drain on everything else. Fingers crossed you can find something that helps!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of good things happening in your life :-) That's wonderful! Some good things happening around here ... we have a fun get-together with friends tonight, and a foodie festival to attend tomorrow. We also have a little getaway coming up next weekend, which I'm excited about.
ReplyDeleteHooray for sleep study!! I hope you get some good answers/ideas. Boston sounds like a blast!
ReplyDeleteThat recipe looks great - do you use anchovies in it? I have never been able to enjoy eating them, so just curious. I might double the olives instead!
ReplyDeleteThat Chicago view is so pretty and a great place to have a morning run! Have a great trip to BC - sounds like a great retreat! Also happy you can take time off for the Boston trip - you will have a busy October!
Love everything about this list. Curious as to how the sleep doc appointment went and hope they were able to give you some useful and implementable tools.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a trip to visit Amber; how fun and exciting!!!
That is a great photo of Chicago! I need to get back to that city to visit...and bring Ryan!!
ReplyDeleteLove little mini trips! They are so good for our sanity!!! That Boston trip sounds fun! You're going to have a great month in October - marathon, Miami, Boston, and your FAVORITE holiday -- Halloween! ;) ;) (hah hah hah!)
How did your 20 mile run go? Feels so good to get that under your belt I bet!!! I'm starting to get the "marathon itch" again watching your training!
I will have to make that pasta dish. Both Ry and I love olives!
Life has lots of good news over here with the Ryan's news, my tri coming up...I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed and feel like I can't seem to catch up lately!
I'm jealous you get to go to Boston! I had been trying to get Anthony to go in April but I couldn't convince him. Now I am unable to take vacation with my new job until January so that stinks!
