10 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 7

Today I am thankful for the amazing travel adventures I've had over the past year.

Since last year I've traveled to...

... Montego Bay, Jamaica with Phil to celebrate our friends' wedding.

... Santa Barbara with Phil for a long weekend full of hiking, time outdoors and delicious food!

... Rocky Mountain National Park with Kyria for a weekend packed with beautiful hikes and great non-stop conversations!

... Kamloops, BC where I FINALLY got to see where Amber lives!  We hiked, ran trails, ate yummy food, and had lots of awesome conversations.  I also got to know her husband Eric better (he's awesome, too!).

Seen on a run on the trail system near Amber's house.

Enjoying a shady part of the trail race we did together!

Enjoying wine and aps on a gorgeous day!
... Miami with my mom, sisters, and sisters-in-law. I love our tradition of going away every other year!

... Boston with my honey to visit our friends.  I also got to see Kelly on this trip!

... Philadelphia with Phil for 1.5 days of exploring before heading to...

... Lambertville, NJ for Alli's wedding.  I failed to take many pictures of our time in Lambertville, besides the one below. Suffice it to say that it was a very charming and beautiful area!  And besides watching Alli get married, I also got to see Becky and Mandy!  Win-win.

The Delaware River valley was stunning!

Phew, that is a lot.  It was definitely the year of "small" trips as all of these trips were done over long weekends.  I feel very blessed to have been able to go to as many places as I did, but traveling is a priority for me so it's something I definitely budget for!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Wow, that was fun! You have done lots of traveling this year, albeit small journeys. We had a very slow year of travel so Miami was my only one! Hopefully next year your Dad will be up to some travel so looking forward to that.

  2. You've been everywhere! No wonder you're so tired! But what fun -- I love travel and it also really makes me appreciate being home!

Today I am thankful that it is Friday and still sunny (the snow is tomorrow) and that in a few hours I get a much needed massage!

  5. That's a whole lot of traveling! I've only traveled twice this year (to Savannah and on my seven-day cruise), but that's about as far as my budgeting will stretch for travel. I have to make it count when I can!

Today, I'm thankful for a really wonderful best friend/roommate who has made my transition to Tampa a bit easier (though it was still so hard, it would have been a billion times harder without her), and who is just an all-around fantastic person to be around.

  6. YAH! Your trip to visit us was definitely one of the highlights of my year. I love how we could spend almost 5 full days together and not run out of anything to talk about :) You had an awesome year of travel and even if they were mostly smaller trips you got to have some fun adventures with Phil and see a bunch of friends! This year we traveled to Maui in the spring and back to the Sunshine Coast for our wedding anniversary and that was pretty much it for trips this year. I think we are going to keep it low key again in 2016 as we have a couple of BIG trips planned for the end of 2016 / early 2017!

  7. You've done a lot of traveling this year!! Now that I think about it, so I have Christopher and I, and I am very thankful for that. This year we went to Mexico, New York, Las Vegas, then Mexico again, and we're going to Vegas for Christmas. This is in addition to a lot of little trips, a flight a province over, etc..

  9. I love that you've identified travelling as a priority for you and that you follow through. I'm a big fan of the road trip because I love driving, making and singing along to the playlist and the great car conversations. You've travelled a lot for business as well as pleasure this year, do you find travelling energises you or do you do something special to keep your energy up?

  10. I've been in self pity mode lately but you reminded me that the first half of the year has been a great year of travel for me! Vegas with parents, Arkansas a few times with Sugarface to visit his family, NOLA with Sugarface, Chicago with the girls for Taylor Swift, and Utah with the I Feel Better/Totes Awesome crew.

    Thank you for the reminder!

  11. Wow. You sure managed a lot of trips! We did a lot of travel around our state this summer and I really enjoy doing it. We are going to explore more areas this coming year too via camping. I love being able to spend the weekend on the beach! I want to maybe try adding Washington D.C. to my list next year as our cousin is living in MD very close to it now. At one point we had discussed going to Savannah, GA but I'm not thinking it will happen. I'd love a long weekend to a beach with my hubby too.

  12. You've traveled a lot this year! It's fun to put it all on one list, as it often makes you realize how much you have really done. I am glad that I got to be included in one of your journeys! Where to in 2016?

I have had more local trips this year, such as weekends in Tahoe and Yosemite, although I did have one longer trip to Europe. It's strange to only go somewhere for two weeks and I have a hard time narrowing down what to do! However, pretty much all of my trips involved something active, which is exactly how I like it!
