- Cuddling on the coach with Oscar on Wednesday night. She was fixed at the end of October and has been way cuddlier since then, which we are loving. She has SO much personality, too. I think she thinks she is a human in this photo.
Hey, will someone pass me the remote? |
- We spent Thanksgiving at my brother's, who lives in a suburb of Minneapolis. The food was amazing and the company was even better! Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite meal of the year!
- My contribution to the meal was the veggie tray and dips and a shredded brussel sprout salad, which I highly recommend!
There is so much crunchy goodness in this salad! |
- On Friday evening, I hosted my family and Phil and his mom for a lasagna dinner. It was great for our families to meet after hearing so much about each other. The food all turned out great (you'll have to take my word as I forgot to take photos) and it wasn't too crowded in my 800 square foot condo.
The tables all set up and ready for my guests! |
My 3 nephews cuddled up together on the couch after dinner. |
- On Saturday evening, Phil and I had dinner at his mom's. Since we had eaten a series of heavy meals over the past couple of days, she prepared a lighter meal of chicken tortilla soup and corn bread, which was delicious. I heart soup! After dinner, I looked through Phil's baby book. It was so neat to see pictures and read about his development milestones and such. I could see how bits of his personality came through very early in life! We capped off the night with 3 games of Yahtzee - all of which I lost! Womp, womp.
- On Sunday afternoon, Phil came over and helped me decorate my tree. After that, we went to Yoga Sculpt at Core Power Yoga, which is the hardest class! He has a free 2-week pass so hopefully we'll get a chance to go a couple more times.
Is there anything better than the glow of a decorated tree? |
Family, our furry friend, delicious food, festive decorations, and time spent outdoors - what more could a girl ask for?
How was your weekend?
Yes, it was a perfect Holiday & weekend! It was great to meet Phil's Mom - so sweet! And just being together with family is the greatest, well not all of them, but still a great crowd! Now I have to move into Christmas mode!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting us at your apt. on Friday - the lasagna was great!
Such an awesome weekend you guys had! You fit in lots of family time, ate some delicious food and got in some awesome workouts! I am sooo anxious to put our tree up but we didn't get to it this weekend. Next weekend it's happening for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend you had; can't go wrong with time with family, games, good food, cuddles and fitness. Glad you had such a good time and that the meeting of the parents went well. That can be so nerve-wracking! (I LOVE that your mom comments so regularly on your blog. I hope to meet her someday!!!)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a wonderful weekend! I'm glad you were able to fit in all your family for your lasagna meal! What a blast that must have been. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know the Danish word hygge? That's what comes to mind reading this, it looks and sounds like a wonderful holiday weekend. And congrats on PR-ing all your raced distances this year, that's quite an accomplishment :)
ReplyDeleteYou PR'd every distance AFTER your RA diagnosis! That's incredible!
ReplyDeleteMy studio is so small I can only have 1 person over for actual dinner. Sounds like a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove that photo with Oscar. Gypsy was an "on the back" kind of cat. Lizzie, not so much. So that made me smile big!
ReplyDeleteYour place looked lovely for your party and so does your tree! I knew the party would be a good one. And Phil's mom was smart to cook light -- even though you ran like a crazy girl this weekend!
It all sounds wonderful Lisa!
Sounds like a great weekend with lots of food and lots of family time! So glad that hosting your families went well too :) I had a similar brussel sprout salad on the weekend and it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteYour thanksgiving sounds so wonderful. I love how great your family gets along. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I've never made chicken rice soup. I remember ordering it as a kid, every Sunday after church, when we went out for lunch as a family. I forgot about it!! Hmmm, that might have to be on my winter must-make list.
ReplyDeletePretty tree! We set ours up on the weekend :-)
Oh yum that soup looks good. I will have to look into the recipe!
ReplyDeleteThat shredded Brussels sprouts salad looks killer. I am SO making that for one of the many holiday meals that I'll be attending. You clearly had a wonderful Thanksgiving and...I'm glad I get to tell you that just in time for another holiday. Ha!
