Trip Recap: DC!

A week after getting back from DC, I am finally getting around to my recap post!

I had an absolute blast in DC. I think it is a beautiful city and I couldn't have picked a better time to visit as the Cherry Blossoms were simply break taking. Becky has some great photos, but I think you have to see it in person. So yes, you will probably fight massive crowds, but I think it's worth checking out! So throw it on your travel list if you haven't been to DC during Cherry Blossom season!

I have some of Becky's photos to share, but thought I'd do a 5 faves list to start things off:

1. Finally meeting Becky after reading each others' blogs for, gosh, years I think? And meeting her husband - who is awesome, by the way. I never felt like the 3rd wheel around these two!

2. Meeting Charbelle after reading each others' blogs for over a year. She really helped me when I was going through my break-up with the Barrister and was always so encouraging so it was great to finally see her in person. I know I'll be seeing her again this year as I will likely be heading to Charlotte this fall for work. Can't wait for another rendezvous. Hopefully next time around I'll feel well enough to share a bottle of wine with her (my stomach was NOT up for any alcohol on this trip)!

3. Introducing Becky & her husband to some new gluten free foods (quinoa pasta - mmm) - and then having them love them! :)

4. A blogger meet-up dinner w/ Charbelle & Jess on Sunday night. I felt well enough by this point to eat a meal - and the restaurant had a gluten free menu. And mashed potatoes. I was in heaven.

5. The weather was so nice on Monday - I was warm in my t-shirt when we went to Mt. Vernon! It felt fantastic. I did not want to go home!!

So there you have it. Now for some pictures!

Becky & I

Standing on the steps of the Lincoln Monument with Washington Monument in the background. I am so bummed that the reflecting pool was under construction - this would have been a great Christmas card pic otherwise!

Standing in front of the WWII Monument, which was my favorite monument!

Charbelle & I on race morning.

WWII Monument at night!

Standing in front of Mount Vernon - such a beautiful estate!!

I got to thinking last week... In the past 6 months, I have been to Vancouver/Seattle/Portland, Tucson, St. Louis, Paris, and DC. Holy moley that is a lot of traveling! The trips have all been amazing, but truth be told, I am a bit worn out. Also, I think it's pretty cool that 3 out of 5 trips were to visit other bloggers. Technically, I could say 4 out of 5 because my sister is a blogger, too.

I will be home every weekend between now and the CFA on June 4th. We'll see what the 2nd half of 2011 holds for me as I will likely start to do sales office visits. But this summer? I need a break from plane rides.

Have a great week everyone! It will be a busy one for me as I take the Series 7 on Wednesday... I can't wait to have it behind me!

You HAVE been to a lot of great places! I have to admit, I'm a tad jealous - ok, very jealous! ;)
Your DC trip sounds awesome, I can't wait to go on a vacation there someday!!
You look so tan in your pictures! I'm working on my gradual "bottle" tan now. It's that time of year... Bring on the stinky stuff.

Great pictures! And, you look great, too!

Take care of yourself this week. I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday and sending positive vibes.

We'll be in the Ozarks, so I don't know what our access to the internet/cell coverage will be.

Great photos, Lisa! You sure have seen lots of country this past year! I love seeing pictures online of other's travels - such a great opportunity to share your adventures with those of us who don't travel as much! It perks up my day! I just know that Wednesday will go well for you! My prayers abound!

I love DC! I went this summer but it was so hot and I was there for such a short period of time that I didn't get to see as much as I would have liked. I definitely want to go back!
Looks like you had a great trip!

Love the photos :) You could always photoshop in the water for th Washington Monument picture somehow... not that I know how but I'm sure someone could help you!

I am so glad I get to see you in July and August, plane free for both of us.

And I can't for you to have the Series 7 behind you! Definitely will be thinking of you this week.

Your trip looks like it was so much fun! When they were living, my grandparents lived in DC ... I traveled there at least once a year ... and have many fond memories of childhood trips to Mt Vernon.

You really have a lot of jackets! Also I love them all.

The DC pictures are gorgeous. I haven't been to DC since I was 17 which makes it almost 10 years now so I MUST go back soon. Eric and I have been talking about it for awhile but there just seem to be endless opportunities for trips and a very quick end to the money necessary haha.

You have been a traveling queen this past year! I would love to visit DC during the spring as well. Your pictures look great and Mt. Vernon would be neat to see. So glad you have been able to go on these trips.
I'm Looking forward to traveling home this summer and getting to spend some quality time with you since our time together this past year was really brief when you came to AZ.
Best of luck on Wed. You will do great!
