One Word Meme

Happy Friday! Hasn't this short week been fabulous? I would love it if every week was a 4-day work week! Even if that meant working 4 10 hour days. Do your work places give you that kind of flexibility?

Nora did this last week, and I'm not feeling super wordy today (shocking & rare for a wordy person like me!) so I thought I'd play along. I like these one word exercises because it forces you to be very succinct!

  1. Good Morning Lisa! My job is pretty flexible...in the summer we switch to "summer hours" and work four 9 hour days and half days friday, which most of us take off because we have more vacation than we use and can't carry it over anymore.
It will be really nice when we have kids, I have the flexibility to pick the hours i work, so i could do 7 to 3 if i wanted...and you have the freedome to cut out early for appointments, etc. As long as you get your work done and your hours in they aren't too picky. Oh and I get to work from home 2 days a week...so right now I'm still in my pajamas. So, while you're NEVER get rich working for a non-profit, there are definite perks.
    Have a great weekend!

  2. Sadly my job is not really flexible. I'm in charge of meeting/greeting the clients who come in to the office everyday so I have to be here no later than 8/8:15 each day. I don't usually get/take a lunch hour so sometimes I'll leave at 4:30 but other than that I'm here from 8am-5pm each day. It kind of sucks, won't lie!

  3. Fun! Sorry to see your mood is annoyed right now though, hopefully your day gets better!!

My job *was* flexible all summer. If I wanted to go running in the morning I could just send an email and say I was going to be in later and I could leave whenever I felt like it/was done my work for the day so I usually left anywhere between 2 and 4 pm every day. NOW though, I am replacing the receptionist for the winter so I have to be there 9 to 1 MWF because it is important for them that the receptionist be there regular hours to greet people!

Have a good weekend, girl! I'm going to actually look into some races this weekend and read that article you emailed and then finally reply to you and Anais :-)

  5. Fun friday post. My job is flexible, but not flexible enough to do 4 tens as we are open business hours (even though minimal public traffic comes our way). I loooove short weeks like this one. THinking I'll take a few vacation days on Fris/Mondays between now and Thanksgiving (our next long weekend) because it's refreshing and I have the days to use!

  7. My job isn't extremely flexible, but I DO write my own schedule. My schedule allows me to sleep in 5 days of the week. Sweeeet! But I work three weekends a month. Buuuumer. All in all I'm happy with it! Cute meme!

  8. Being a teacher is not flexible at all haha- because I have to be there when the kids are. I know we get a lot of vacation but its always at horrible times to go away because everyone else is trying to take off. One thing I do like is being out at 3. I never am really done for the day at 3, but if I have to be because I want to do something, I can!

  9. I've though working 4 10 hour days might be a nice change. I've never really done, and pretty sure I wouldn't be able wear I'd work. But I do think a 10 hour day might get old pretty quickly
