We started the day with a friendly game of Chutes & Ladders. I played Andrew and James - and won! I don't believe in letting kids win - is that bad?
Things were getting chaotic when we were preparing dinner so I read a book to the boys to get them out of the kitchen. Truth be told - it was good for me to get out of the kitchen, too!! I'm definitely far from talented when it comes to cooking!

While the adults opened gifts, Andrew put together the puzzle I had gave him. He definitely takes after me and LOVES to put puzzles together. Perhaps we have another math major in the making?

ReplyDeleteI love your pictures! I also agree with you, we shouldn't let kids win -- all the time anyway. Sometimes is okay. I think parents today baby their kids too much.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great time! I love when presents are stacked so high, especially when they're for children. It looks like they're all the perfect age to enjoy everything. And I love how kids enjoy boxes just as much as the toys themeselves.

ReplyDeleteAs a parent, I don't think you should LET kids win, but I also don't think adults should pull out their cut-throat strategies to beat them. It's good for kids to learn that they have to work hard to EARN good things, that good things aren't just handed to them.

ReplyDeleteDoesn't beating them just teach them to be gracious losers? Plus I'm not too sure how to purposely lose at chutes and ladders. Although, I'm loving the updated game board, quite a bit different from what I remember.
