Another week of Wine and Love, brought to you by the ever-fabulous Nora!
Wine:
- After watching prices for months, I bought my plane ticket to Seattle for my half marathon trip. Then days later the price dropped by $50. Of course. I should NOT have looked at the price again. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, you know?
- I am working on a scarf and realized I made a mistake 2 rows back... which means I have to take out 1,200 stitches. 1,200, people. That is a freaking lot. So annoyed with myself for not double checking the pattern.
Love:
- Reclaiming my status as social butterfly. I said no to pretty much every happy hour and most invitations for weekend plans when I was studying for the CFA. Now that I am on a study break until December, I can fill up my calendar with fun stuff once again! I figure I need to say yes to think now because come December, I will go back to being a recluse!
- Spending time with family at the lake cabin last week. We all swam out to the raft together and then my mom brought margaritas out on the paddle boat. Talk about a full service swimming experience!!
- Getting some alone time with my grandma. That doesn't happen very often when you have a big family like mine!
- My aunt had surgery this week and it went well. Fingers crossed she heals swiftly.
Your turn - what was your wine & love of the week?
Yay for having time to be social again :) This is the perfect time of the year for it too because people are just more willing to do fun stuff in the summer, at least I think. I am going to do my wine and love today too, have to think about what it's going to be!
ReplyDeleteOh my God, that ticket price would drive me insane!!! And 1,200 stitches?! If that were me, I'd just throw the darn thing in the corner for a few days/weeks until I've calmed down again. :)
ReplyDeleteMy w(h)ine for the week: The way my food and exercise seem to have upped and flown out the window. :(
My loves: It's Ramadan - I love this time of year! & I've started watching QI, a BBC tv quiz show that's absolutely hilarious.
Plane ticket prices to Seattle are on my wine list as well! I listened to trip advisor and waited and waited to buy my ticket for a conference there next week and I ended up paying out the nose. Gah!
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of drinking margaritas on a raft! I need to come spend time at your cabin :)
ReplyDeleteWine - the sweltering heat of my apartment that means I can never actually be comfortable in my own house!
Love - the fact that I have THREE weeks left at my job. Not going to lie, have pretty much checked out already!
Is is bad that my "wine" is one of your "loves"? That fact that I wasn't at the cabin last weekend, is my wine ;)
ReplyDeleteBut on an honest note...I'm glad you guys had fun! Sounds fabulous!
1200 stitches...oh...my...goodness. That takes the patience of Job.
I'm so glad your CFA-studying days are behind you & you have a life again!:)
Ugh the stitches sound very frustrating indeed! My wine is not fully being adjusted to living solo and subsequently not being able to manage my finances very well at all... and thinking of having to get a new job as a result. My love: looking forward to seeing a musical at the end of the month, as well as Doctor Who returning! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the flight? That is exactly what I am doing with my mlps ticket....maybe I should buy it now? Maybe I should wait? Frustrating, but in the end it really IS only a few (or 50) bucks.
ReplyDeleteMy wine: My super slow 7 mile run on Sunday. AND the fact that older men at work keep bossing me around, just because I am younger and a girl (?)
My loves: My pretty fast 4 mile run (8:44/mi) on Tuesday. Going to see my family next weekend!
You really are a social butterfly lately! It's great though!! Like Kelly said, the summer is the perfect time for it.
ReplyDeleteThat is AWESOME about your mom bringing margarita's out to the raft for you guys. Love it!
Bummer about the plane ticket and having to take out all those stitches :(
Relax and have fun being social because you DESERVE it!!
ReplyDeleteSocial Butterfly Status is always fun! I love hearing about everything you are up to this summer =)
ReplyDeleteHate it when you buy a ticket and then days later it's lower... so frustrating. But hooray for a trip to Seattle!
It was fun on the raft! Wish we had taken a picture! I would cry if I had to take out that many stitches - AUGHHH! We bought tickets to Chicago to meet the new Grandbaby in September - I will not go back and check prices after your experience!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at the picture of Marlys on the paddle boat with her margaritas! Sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteYou do more studying than anyone I know who isn't in school - you most definitely do deserve this break and all the fun things that come along with it!
ReplyDeleteI"m staring down a plane ticket to go to california next year for a wedding. Not looking forward to seeing those plane ticket prices.
ReplyDeleteMy wine is having to deal with all my sister's boyfriends *junk* since he is officially moving in this week. My love is being officially done with summer classes and having more time to read - I have read so much more lately!
ReplyDeletewine - didnt get paid for tutoring this week.
ReplyDeletelove - the energy i feel after working out
Holy mother of stitches!
ReplyDeleteWine: My freaking knee and the fact that our internet/house phone still isn't working yet. (Right now there's a non-locked network I'm using - fingers crossed this posts!)
Love: Our new place. Just love.
Ah, mistakes when knitting/crocheting BITE! Sorry!
ReplyDeleteWine: Not getting enough sleep. It's my own fault, but I'm still going to complain again. :)
ReplyDeleteLove: Tomorrow is my last day at my job! Yayyyy!
It feels good to be able to relax and have some social time with friends after having to study so hard. Cherish those moments with your family and grandman. Time goes by so fast.
ReplyDeleteWine - I had to leave my friends lunch party today because I got severe stomach pain and then went home and threw up. I think I am allergic to something and don't know it. It is all I can think of. I felt fine after. Also, this happened to me about 3-4 weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteLove - I found a supervisor for my Master's thesis this week and it was who I wanted!
