Ten Quirky Questions

Happy Friday!  Jen did this earlier this week, and I had fun reading her answers, so I thought I'd play along!

Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
No, I don't.  I travel so much these days, if I did I would have WAY too many.  I can't handle clutter in my toiletry closet!!

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who are late and unapologetic for being late.  Totally unacceptable.

Do you chew your pens and pencils?
NO!!  There is someone at work that CHOMPS on his pen and it drives me CRAZY.  We don't have any walls in our office so noises travel easy.  I can block out people's voices pretty well, but can't handle white noise like pen chewing.  It actually makes my skin crawl and I have considered purchasing this person the Sophie the Giraffe toy as a chewing alternative.

Do you believe in ghosts?
Nope!  Not one bit.

What was your first concert?
Jars of Clay, which is a Christian band.

Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
Yes.  Many times.  The most recent time I can recall is when I passed level I of the CFA.  I didn't cry this year because the process of finding my results was so fricking ridiculous, and I was in the middle of a conference call when I found out, so it was sort of, well, anti-climatic in a way (but still very awesome, of course).

Do you crave sweet or salty food?
Definitely salty.

How late is "sleeping in" to you?
Wow, this has changed in the last couple of years.  7 is now sleeping in to me.  That would have been early years ago.

What is a food that you never thought you would try, but then
tried and liked?
Sushi.  I never ever thought I'd like it.  Raw fish?  Seriously?  Now it's one of my most favorite foods ever.

DJ or band at a wedding?
Tough call...  I would have to say a band, but it can't be too loud!

Alright - your turn!  Either answer some questions in the comments or keep the fun going and do it on your blog!

  1. I love this and will be stealing it :)

Completely agree about late people, it's really just rude to keep me waiting forever haha. The good thing is I'm pretty aware of which of my friends are early vs. late people so I try to plan my arrival accordingly haha. Eric is a super, super early person which also can annoy me because again I have to wait forever with him. This is why we have started drinking in the parking lot before weddings, because I need some entertainment. Ha.

  2. First of all, please buy your co-worker Sophie the Giraffe, and then blog about his reaction. Please.

Secondly, Jars of Clay was my first concert too!

  3. "I have considered purchasing this person the Sophie the Giraffe toy as a chewing alternative." Hahahaha omg I love it!

I don't take shampoos from the hotel, chew on pens, or believe in ghosts either. I would say DJ at a wedding because the only one I've been to with a band was VERY stuffy!

  4. I would never have thought I liked sushi but it's also one of my favorite foods now! I'm sooo glad I decided to try it!

  5. I love Jars of Clay!! I don't believe in ghosts either, not even a little bit. I think I'll do this one on my blog too - I love stuff like this!

  6. If my supply of travel shampoo is low, I will take them. I don't chew on pencils or pens or believe in ghosts! I, too, cry when I'm happy, maybe more than when I'm sad! I crave salty food, especially popcorn! I'm so old I don't remember my first concert! :)

  7. This is fun! I've taken shampoo and conditioner before only because it was Aveda stuff and I LOVE it.

Biggest pet peeve? People who chew with their mouth open or make lots of unnecessary noise while eating their food.

Yes, I have definitely cried because I was happy. My wedding day would be a great example!

  8. Pen chewing is pretty gross. I don't think there was ever a time where I did that.

  9. Love reading these things. Basically every food I have tried and liked, I never thought I would try and like - this is probably why I am such a picky eater. I guess most recently, red peppers are something that surprised me.
I don't like people that are late, either, or just generally unreliable.

  10. When we first met, Sweets felt compelled to take the single use stuff from hotel bathrooms (reason: because it's there and free). It would drive me crazy, because once he had it, he never used it!!! I think I have finally convinced him it's a bad habit and he no longer does it. =)

  11. Super fun post. Love the Sophie the Giraffe comment. Can't you just buy it and leave it on his desk anonomously?

My first concert was Debbie Gibson when I was in 7th grade and my friend and I totally dressed up like her.

  12. Jars of Clay was my first concert, too! I love them. :)

I think 9 is sleeping in for me, now. Seven is earlyyyy. Heh.

I haaaate being late and I haaaate when people are late. My sister-in-law was 45 minutes late TO HER OWN WEDDING. How do you even DO that?!

  13. I'm a savory kind of snacker too!

Also, I've never cried from happiness. I always wondered if that means I've never been THAT happy before.

  14. I used to chew on my pens at works, but thankfully have managed to stop.

And my first concert was a actually a Garth Brooks concert that I went to with my parents in middle school.

  15. I will probably steal this too at some point. Actually, I think most of my answers are the same as yours, except for the Jars of Clay. Mine was Bryan Adams.

Here are a few random question for you instead... are you a Halloween person? If you could only eat one fruit for the rest of your life, what would it be? Would you rather have a boyfriend who clips his toenails in bed or leaves his underwear on the kitchen table?

  16. Fun posts! As always, some of these could be my answers... however, 7 is definitely early and no way can be seen as "sleeping in" ;)

  18. This is fun! I am going to steal one of these! We are SO sisters -- so much of this we have in common!

I cannot stand lateness -- and am amazed by how many people roll into events, meetings, etc late and seem to feel no remorse about it!

Pen chewing grosses me out beyond words.

Sleeping in is 7 for me too. I naturally want to be up at 5:30-6 am - ESPECIALLY on my days off, as I'm so excited to seize the day!

  19. I am SO guilty of pen chewing, but I don't think I do it badly. I have the awful habit of biting my nails & often when I'm trying to stop, my pens get the damage instead. We have the SAME pet peeve though. I freaking HATE when people are late, and my brother is known in the family for being EXTREMELY LATE ALWAYS. We were once FOUR HOURS LATE for a New Years' Eve party because he was driving. I was so disappointed- we got there like an hour before midnight!

  20. This is a fun little questionnaire! I may have to steal it since I haven't had much time to write very good blog posts lately!

I can be TERRIBLE for being late for things sometimes but I always send a text or email letting the other party know I'm running late and I'm apologetic when I get there. It's also something I've been working on/improving on I think :)
