Music, Books, Miles, and Looks of February

February is the shortest month of the year, and it went fast for me as I was busy at work and went to Austin, New York (for work), and Minneapolis (sort of for work).  But even though it was the shortest month, it also felt long at times..

Music:

Team by Lorde - I love everything about this song - the beat, the lyrics, her voice.  I haven't bought her album but I might have to...

Books:

It felt like a slower reading month for me, but I read 5 books which is a decent amount.  My favorite was The Art of Hearing Heartbeats.

Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt - 4 stars
Saturday Night Widows by Becky Aikman - 4 stars
The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker - 4 stars
The Wedding Bees by Sarah-Kate Lynch - 3 stars
Hope Street, Jerusalem by Irris Makler - 2 stars

Miles:

Finally, I had some mileage to tally up for the month! I ran 33 miles this month, which I am happy with.  Besides running, I did spin classes, walked hill routes on the treadmill, and did some biking on my own.

Looks:

** crickets **

I have no outfits to share this month.  Blogger fail.  I feel a little blah about everything in my closet right now because I keep cycling through the same winter dresses over and over again.  But hopefully the temperatures warm up this month so I can start wearing some spring dresses and skirts.

  1. Five books and 33 miles - sounds like a good month to me indeed!

Yeah, I can't believe it's already March - I think this month is going to fly. Ben's birthday was yesterday, my sister's birthday is this Sunday, a friend is turning 30 - I have a couple small things planned here and there and I go to NYC to visit Alli at the end of the month. Before you know it I'm going to be commenting on a post of yours saying "I can't believe it's already April!"

  2. I am also totally over all my winter clothes. Nothing looks good to me. Come oooon, spring!

  3. Totally over my winter clothes right now. I have started adding brightly colored scarves and things to my winter clothes just for a change of pace...and then it ices & snows at the beginning of March and I'm reminded that we still have winter. BLECH.

  4. I'm TOTALLY with you on winter clothes and this is why I had to buy 3 new things just to give myself something to be excited about. You'd think given that I haven't really worn my winter clothes this year that I wouldn't hate them so much but I do ha ha. I'm going on a total donating spree this week and I have a feeling I'm going to have no winter clothes left at the end. Oops.

I love that 5 books is not a lot for you :) Such an amazing reader!

  5. Hard to get excited about spring when it looks so far away yet! I'm sure you will enjoy warmer temps before we will, so am happy you will soon be enjoying spring!
I see you gave The Wedding Bees only 3 stars and I was thinking about reading it, but now I'm not so sure.
I did enjoy the Art of Hearing Heartbeats, too!
Hope March is a good month for you!

  6. More books to add to my list to check out and read...thanks! You got a decent amount of miles in this month considering you are just getting back into running. Way to go!

  7. I can totally empathize about feeling a case of the wardrobe blahs. I finally broke down and bought a couple of new items to add to my wardrobe because I was so bored with all of my clothes and felt like I was constantly wearing the same few things.

  8. Highly recommend buying Lorde's CD. I bought it a few months ago and I love every song on there! :)

  12. I think that's soooo awesome that you were able to run 33 miles this month. Waaaay more than I did, ahem! =) I also love that song by Lorde - she's only a teenager, too. (I think?) I'm pretty sure I requested spring clothes in my next Stitch Fix ... not that I'll be able to wear them anytime soon, but at least I'll have something to look forward to. ha.

  13. Where did February go? When I saw you did this post, I was initially thinking, "Hm, she must be doing it early..." Then I realized...February is gone! WTF?! February is my favorite month. Tucson's weather is perfect...it's my birthday.....it's just a good month.

I am SO HAPPY you ran 33 miles this month! I'm glad you're also getting spinning and other activities in! I've been spinning 2 times/week lately, as well. Such a good workout.

I'm ready for a spring shopping trip! Can't wait to wear skirts, dresses, cropped pants, and other fun spring attire!

  16. Well, you are reading more than I am, and I thought I was doing pretty well! I'm getting so ready to say farewell to layers! Soon...

  17. I love that you are racking up the miles now! That's such a relief! Also, February went be really fast but it was crammed with things! I don't think there was a low key weekend among them! But you know and I know that we both like it that way! March is pretty much the same; I think the last weekend is free for now, but I am sure that there is something to do! :)
