Ten on Tuesday

Good morning and Happy Tuesday. This is my batch of questions so you all should participate this week. Or at least answer a few in the comments!

1. What is the worst movie you have ever seen?
Hands down, Magnolia. This is the only movie where I have gotten up and left before it was over.

2. Do you have a favorite Disney/Pixar film?
Disney = Beauty and the Beast
Pixar = Ratatouille

*ahem - surprise, surprise, both movies are set in France...

3. Do you have a favorite movie from the 80′s?
It's a toss-up between Dirty Dancing & Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

4. Are there any movies you saw more than once in the theater?
I saw Titanic and Love Actually twice.

5. What is one city/area of the US (or country you live if you do not live in the US) that you have not seen but would like to see?
I've been on more vacations outside of the US than within, so there are many areas I would like to see. So I have to break it down into two answers...

Outdoorsy/National Park = The Grand Canyon
City = Washington, DC

6. What are your favorite toppings on an Ice Cream Sundae?
I like chocolate sauce and some fresh fruit like raspberries. And maybe a side of peanut butter cups. :)

7. How many proms did you go to? What color was your prom dress? If you went to multiple proms, what color was your favorite prom dress?
I went to 3 Proms. My HS boyfriend lived in a different city so we went to both of our Prom junior year and I wore a black dress. My senior year, I was no longer dating my HS boyfriend so I went with another guy from his school and wore a red dress. I broke up with my date the next day over email (I know, how immature) and I had strep throat so I do not have fond memories of this prom.

I don't have access to any photos, but the black dress was my favorite of the two. It was an Alfred Angelo dress with an open back with thick, beaded straps that criss crossed.

8. Is there a sport or extra-curricular activity that you didn’t get to try as a child that you wish you would have? (e.g. gymnastics, piano lessons, ballet, etc.)
Gymnastics and ballet. I used to be really, really flexible so I think I could have been good at these activities. Unfortunately, my parents were busy enough taking care of us 5 kids, they did not have time to drive 25 miles each way to take me to Gymnastics or Ballet classes!

Additionally, if my school had offered cross country, I wish I could have taken that. But my younger self never realized how much I liked long distance running so even if it was offered, I probably wouldn't have participated.

9. How many siblings do you have? Are you the oldest, middle, or youngest?
I have 4 siblings - 3 older and 1 younger.

10. Do you feel like you fit in with your age group? Or do you feel younger/older than your age group?
No, I really don't. Growing up, I always felt like a bit of an old soul. I wasn't really big into drinking and have always preferred to go home around midnight so I never really felt like I fit in during my early 20s.

Now I am 29 years old and I do not have any local single friends and many of my friends are starting to have children. I don't feel less mature than them or anything like that, I just feel like I am in such a different phase of my life.

Since I just broke up with someone over email I have to say it's less maturity and more avoidance, or maybe immaturity :)
I'm with you my younger self would have had no idea she could do cross country especially since my younger self was not in the shape I am today.
I'm with you on the where you are vs where your friends are at it's hard not to let it get to me!

Oo! -- Girls Just Want to Have Fun - that's a nother one I forgot about!

I agree with you on Cross Country. We probably would've rocked that - if it was offered - and if we would've actually gone out for it.... ;)

This is a good set of questions! Grand Canyon NP was definitely at the top of my list until last month. Now that I've seen it, maybe either Sequoia NP or NYC.

Prom was so lame. My senior year, I made my guy friends find a date for me. I met the guy the day before the dance. He was a high school dropout. I wish I had just gone solo.

My all time favorite 80's movie is hands down the Goonies. I think you would love DC. The way the past and the future tie together. Its such a great place.

Fun questions!!

1. What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

Ummm I would have to say the first Twilight movie. Seriously, bad. I've never actually LEFT a theatre because a movie was so bad though!

6. What are your favorite toppings on an Ice Cream Sundae?

Oooh, I'd have to agree with you on the peanut butter cups! I like sweet and savoury so I really like having caramel and chocolate and then peanuts or walnuts or something!

9. How many siblings do you have? Are you the oldest, middle, or youngest?

I have one sibling - a younger brother. I'm the oldest!

I actually ran track & field in elementary and did "long-distance" which was like 1,500 M and 3,000 M - not really long-distance like what we do haha! I wasn't very good at it because I'm not a FAST runner, but it was fun!

These were good questions! I've not seen Magnolia, but I've quit movies that just start awfully too - recently, Paper Heart (though that was a rental) and sadly, the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus - I lasted about 20 mins and I was so sad because it totally looked like my sort of movie, too! :(

And I'm so with you on Love Actually and Titanic - I think I went to see Titanic FOUR times (with my grandma each time, she LOVED it!!)

Worst movie: Vanilla Sky - seriously...I want those 2 hours of my life back.

Fav Disney movie: The Little Mermaid (I wanted to be her when I grew up - I figured I liked to sing and had red hair and she becomes human at the end so why not?!)

Fav Pixar movie: UP

Ohhhhhhh I heart Dirty Dancing. I was OBSESSED with Patrick Swayze for years. It still hurts a little to talk about his death.

Forget The Grand Canyon - come to D.C.! :)

There are so many areas in the US I want to see...pretty much everywhere west of the Mississippi. I've been to some before but all when I was really young and can't remember. I've always felt like an old soul too...I never really fit in with anyone in high school/college. Now, everyone around us has kids which makes it kind of strange too.

This is a fun one!

Magnolia is terrible. I think 'Apocalypto' is worse though. Sodding Mel Gibson. Favourite 80s film is either Flight of the Navigator or Goonies, and I like chocolate and nuts on ice cream, and fudge sauce!

Great questions this week! :)

The worst movie that I've seen recently would be The Crazies. Do not watch it!!

I have two siblings. I am right in the middle of two brothers.

I do and I don't fit in with my age group. In terms of my friends from high school, we are at totally different points in our lives. I am done university, working full-time, bought a house and am getting married. They are all still in university, have semi-serious boyfriends and working random jobs. We still get a long, but are at just different points in our lives

As a child I always wanted to play the violin, but the parents wouldn't get me a violin (spendy!). I'd still like to learn piano though. Something that would really be useful in life (IMO).

And, I too am an older soul. My friends call me "mother hen" and I feel like I can barely stay out until 10pm. It's just not worth it to feel exhausted and hungover the next day!

Ah, Dirty Dancing. I had forgotten about that one. Probably because I didn't see it until the late 90's (my mom was really obsessive about what I could watch as a kid and that one did not fit into her mold) but I loved Dirty Dancing. It sort of became our go-to movie in my college dorm house. We LOVED it. Watched 30 times or more in the 9 months we lived together. Even now, i can quote it quite well.

Thanks for the terrific questions!

This will date me, but here goes!
1. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf - absolutely depressing!
2. "Song of the South"
3. No
4. Never saw a movie in a theater twice!
5. The West Coast
6. Caramel & peanuts
7. No girl's sports in my school until the second semester of my senior year - track - and I had no desired to start then!
8. 7 siblings - 2 sisters, 5 brothers and I was second oldest.
9. I fit in - sometimes seem older and sometimes younger depending on who I'm with! Mostly I feel younger, though! :)

I love DC. I lived near once and love to go back and visit! You should SO go!
I never went to prom because I was homeschooled and my parents wouldn't have let me anyway. One guy asked me and I told him I had to work that night!
Oh...and I have a sister and seven brothers :)

I saw Titanic and Love Actually twice in the theaters too! The only other movie I can think of that I also saw twice is The Notebook, which fits in with the other two.
