It's been awhile since I did a post like this, so I thought it'd be a great way to end my week!
{Currently}
- my life feels very full in a really good way, and sometimes my heart feels like it may burst over how much I really do love my life. I feel very fortunate to say that, but I also know I feel this way due to decisions (some of which were not easy or obvious) I've made to create the kind of life I want!
- hungry often. I know this is typical when training for a marathon. I've been pretty good about not over-eating so far, but I definitely have a hard time resisting the m&m dispenser at work!
- a little frustrated by some things that are happening at work, but am trying to focus on the fact that I am lucky to have a job and an awesome quasi-boss (I am supposed to be reporting to someone else, but they haven't made any changes in HR, so I just keep acting like he is my boss, and feel like I always will).
- loving Amber's wedding recap posts - it's so fun to relive the day through her eyes! If you want to see a stunningly beautiful bride and beautiful photographs - hop over to her blog!!
- a little disappointed in my patio garden. I think moving the plants to/from my friends house before/after my vacation was a bit traumatic for my little plants. I have gotten about 10 tomatoes, though, so I really can't complain!
- not doing a good job of adhering to my self-imposed bed time. And am feeling over-tired as a result. I decided to stay home this weekend instead of going to the lake - I am looking forward to a quiet weekend and hopefully a solid 8-9 hours of sleep on Saturday night!!
- really, really ready for fall. Don't hate me. If it wasn't so humid, I would feel differently. I am fantasizing about scarfs, tall boots + skinny jeans, pumpkin spice lattes, and cool, crisp mornings. I was built for fall - not summer. Seriously.
- so excited about how well the USA girls' gymnastics team - aka the Fab 5 - did! It brought back memories of watching the 1996 girls win gold in Atlanta. Gosh I love the Olympics!!!
What's on your mind today?

I like fall, but I wish it was longer. If winter and fall could be the same amount of time, I'd be happy. (although, after a mild winter like last year, maybe we'll get that again?!)
Last week when you found out you passed the CFA (was that just last week, or has it been longer??) I could totally feel the heart bursting moments FOR YOU, it made me so proud of the blogging community because everyone was on pins and needles just waiting to hear from you, and when your scores were late, everyone was even more nervous! It was all I could think about and I was watching Twitter like a hawk!
Enjoy your weekend and get some rest!
I send everything Amber just said (well the second paragraph anyway). I love fall weather and food but I can't ever love fall- it's SUCH a hard time in kindergarten, none of the kids know how to do ANYTHING and I end up exhausted every day from September to Christmas break.
Glad you are loving life so much :)
I'm digging Amber's wedding recap posts too. Looks like such a good time! I'm so happy for her.
Oh, yes, bring on fall. I am SO over this 100+ degree weather with humidity. (I am also no longer listening to the weather guys when they say it's going to be in the 90s. I am convinced they are lying to keep us from all going insane.)
I can see/hear how happy you are in this post and it makes me so happy for you! You deserve all the happiness in the world :)
SO ready for fall! All of those things you listed...I want them right now. I want to run and not feel like the sun is melting my skin. Ohhh I can't wait!
I love summer (and especially all the yummy fruits and veggies) but it's been so hot and muggy that I'm kind of dreaming about fall too!
I feel like I have stepped into fall - minus the foliage - here because it is so much colder than NY or Minnesota. It's nice to be able to run in the cooler temps, but it feels a little bit disconcerting to get chilly during the day in August when wearing jeans and a cardigan. I'm sure I'll adjust, though, once my tall boots arrive. :)
I'm so glad you're happy with so much in your life right now!
I love summer but we have very dry summers so that helps. And even the dry heat isn't great for running so I AM looking forward to fall running, just not quite ready for days spent laying by the pool, ice cream and music in the park to end :)
I'm glad you're loving the wedding posts so much! I love them too! Kind of sad the recaps are almost done and I have to finally move on from that amazing day!
I love (DSM) Amber's comment as well! I am so glad you passed! I mean, like I said, I knew you would, but it's great that you have the results and can stop worrying about it. I also love Raquelita's comment about the tall boots.
I have not had to worry much about the weather this year (and it's funny hearing everyone talk about the heat -- I feel so detached) so I can't say that I am rushing Fall. Sorry. But I do love boots if that makes it any better!
I am currently getting ready to go to my cousin's wedding (tomorrow) and hoping to get a long run in on Sunday.
I don't blame you for being ready to kiss that humid summer goodbye. When we were there, I couldn't get over how awful humidity feels! It makes you feel so heavy and yuck!! Lots of bad hair days too! ;)
Love fall! My favorite season!!!
I remember that marathon-training-hunger. And feeling extremely dehydrated like all the time!
I am so happy for you that this is such a great time of your life! You totally deserve this. You work so hard to get the life you desire -- and I'm so proud that you're there!!!
I can't imagine how hungry you must be with marathon training. I've only been running for three months, and not even half as much as you have been in a given week, and I find myself wanting to eat way more than I know I should. Also looking forward to cooler weather!
Yes, I loved the fab 5 and gabby winning gold! It definitely brings back the memories of 96. I've only got a few tomatoes so far and two zucchini, but I'm still so happy to have my own little garden. Can't wait til the rest of my tomatoes turn.
As for fall, I've actually been looking forward to sweatshirts, boots and jeans. However, I realized yesterday that fall is evil in that it's when I want to buy the most expensive stuff - new boots, new jeans, new jackets/sweaters. Summer, you can get away with buying cheaper, lower quality stuff in my mind.
I am terrible at sticking with a bedtime. I really should be going to bed earlier and getting up earlier to enjoy the daylight and sunshine. I am definitely NOT ready for fall, as that means I have to go back to work :-(
I LOVE summer, but your last point got me so excited for the Fall!! I just love pumpkin spice lattes :D
You have an M&M dispenser at work? I would be 300 pounds.
"...was a bit traumatic for my little plants." This made me laugh out loud!
I agree - I was built for fall too. I'm not letting myself think about it yet - I'm just trying to enjoy the summer which is something I've really never done before!
I loved Amber's recaps, too. Even though I wasn't at the wedding, they really gave me a good idea of the look, feel and energy of her special weekend!
