Currently: June Edition

Well I skipped right over doing this post in May as I kind of lost track of the month.  So here's a currently post for the month of June!

Reading: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.  It's a cute young adult book that we'll be discussing over on Emily's blog for our monthly book club (anyone and everyone is welcome to join, she posts discussion questions at the end of the month!).  I am loving it so far!

Loving: being back home and close to family and friends.

Thinking:  about taking golf lessons as one of Phil's best friends is a golf pro.  I have clubs and tried to take lessons years ago but didn't care for the pro at the course where I went but I think I'd like working with Phil's friend.

Frustrated:  by how difficult it is to move when you have a chronic illness.  After the 'no one will give me a referral' experience, I ended up seeing my GP in Minneapolis so I could tell her I have RA so she could send me a referral to a rheumatologist.  Which means I'll pay my 20% co-pay for a completely unnecessary doctor's appointment.  And then getting my Enbrel (injection meds) prescription transferred?  Unbelievably difficult.  So.  Many.  Phone calls.  I won't bore you with the details but it feels like dealing with health stuff is a part time job for me.

Feeling: like the old pre-Charlotte Lisa is mostly back.  I didn't feel like myself for quite a long time so it's really great to be back to a state where positivity comes naturally and I have my spring back in my step.

Anticipating:  the party at Phil's this weekend.  I'm looking forward to hosting some of his friends and eating some good Mexican food!  Hopefully the weather cooperates so we can be outside!

Watching:  the Next Food Network Stars on Sunday nights, and not much TV besides that.  I am cheering for Lenny as he seems quirky/fun but talented in the kitchen.

Sad: that I won't be training for a marathon with my running club.  It's great to be back to running, of course, and I'm excited to train for my trail half with the group but it still bums me out that another marathon is very unlikely due to my stress fracture history/RA.

Working:  on re-building a network at my new employer.  Starting over is hard!  I know quite a few people that work in the Minneapolis office, but there are a lot of other offices with sales reps that I need to get to know.  I am hoping to visit some of the offices this summer.

Grateful:  for my family, my friends, my health, and for the fact that I'm back in my happy place.

Listening: to very little music these days as I am back to barely being in the car (yea!).

Wishing: that I was better at sleeping.  I fall asleep ok but staying asleep is a whole other issue.  I've been waking up super early (like 3:30-4) and then not really falling back into a deep sleep (or back to sleep at all) which is just annoying.  My bedroom doesn't have curtains or blinds so I am hoping that once I hang some and have a darker room I will sleep better.

What are you currently reading, anticipating, and grateful for?

So glad you're feeling like you're back to yourself, although hopefully that self will start to sleep better soon - it makes SUCH a difference!

I just finished reading The Light in the Ruins - not normally a book I'd pick up but it was fascinating, and I'm currently reading Looking for Me by Beth Hoffman - so far so good!

I'm really happy to see how much happier you are back in MN :) So glad you got back!

I'm on the waiting list for Eleanor and Park so I hope it comes in soon! I'm read another book by the same author called Attachments.

I hope you start sleeping better soon. Sleeping makes a huge difference in my happiness/patience level haha. Oddly, Max has made me a way better sleeper. I don't take any medicine anymore (benedryl is not great for nursing so I just avoid it) and I sleep pretty well- at least better than I used to! I wonder how many people say their child makes them sleep BETTER lol.

I can tell you feel like your old self because you sound like your old self! It's awesome =)

Reading- "To All the Boys I've loved before," which is a YA by jenny han. It's a fun, light read.

Anticipating- this weekend! Nilsa, Sweets and the G-man are coming in town. Can't wait.

Grateful- that work allows me to flex my schedule a bit so I can accommodate the munchkins being here. I'm still doing my eight hours a day, just way earlier =)

When my children are happy, I'm happy! I know it is a big job to acclimate yourself to a new job, new boss and new office people, but by year's end I am sure it will fit like a glove!
I don't watch much TV in the summer, either, just have it on when I'm getting ready for work in the morning! Funny think is I don't miss it! I do miss getting time to read the papers and magazines that we get!
Hope you get some better sleep soon! It is so restorative!

I'm so glad you're back where you feel like you fit, where you are happy -- and once you get the RA stuff straightened out, I think things will most definitely even out.

I'm reading "Singled Out" by Virginia Nicholson -- non-fiction about how the death of so many men of marriageable age in WWI left a HUGE number of "Surplus Women" who had few career opportunities and shattered dreams. Fascinating. I'm anticipating finally getting to the cottage and I'm grateful the wedding went off well and we were able to spend time with family again!

So happy you’re feeling more like your old self again. Yay! But UGH, dealing with transferring all the RA stuff sounds like a nightmare. I was hoping that had gotten sorted out by now!

Right now, I’m reading Hot Pursuit, which is a romantic thriller by one of my favorite authors. I’m anticipating a girl’s night with friends this Friday. And I’m grateful for my coworkers… they keep things interesting around here!

I am currently reading Look Again by Lisa Scottoline. It's kind of cheesy but an easy, suspenseful read. I am anticipating the long 4th of July weekend coming up - I am taking Monday off to make it extra long :)

I'm so glad you are feeling back to your normal self. I can't imagine going through the year you went through. I really want to read Eleanor and Park! Just got to get my hands on a copy of it.

I started reading that book and really enjoyed it! My copy on my kobo messed up so I haven't been able to finish it. Will have to find another copy!

I'm glad to hear the old Lisa is almost back! I'm sure that a new job is tough and starting all those new relationships, but it's a good challenge to have. On the latter, I feel like I have been at one place so long that if I ever do move on, it will be really hard to get hired because I haven't had that opportunity to have to 'start over.'

So glad you are doing SO great in your "currently" place!! I know there are some road bumps, but I feel like there are always road bumps and at least these ones are bumps unlike the mountains you had to climb last year!

I'm currently anxious for a few answers/stability to come in our lives too, but I am also feeling really grateful and know all of that will come in time!

Love that feeling of coming back to yourself after not feeling "normal" for awhile!

Speaking of bad at sleeping. It's an hour and 15 minutes past my bedtime.

So glad you're getting back into the groove of things!

I am glad you have returned to a better state...of mind and of location! It's so nice to not have to stress over things as much, I am sure. Have fun at the Mexican fiesta! I love summer time get togethers with friends!

So good to see you happy again and enjoying yourself. I can definitely feel the smile on your face in your recent posts. Enjoy all that delicious Mexican food...my favorite!

I've heard such, such great things about Rainbow Rowell's book. Of course I haven't found time to read anything by her yet, but she's definitely an author I'm really looking forward to. So I have to imagine you're really enjoying Eleanor & Park, right?

Ha! Remember hen you locked your keys in the car at your gold lesson and I had to come save you ?! Fun times :)

I am excited that you're home and getting back to yourself!

I am really sorry that this whole Rheum situation has been such a process. Our system is mind numbing and beyond frustrating! It's just awful. :(. I hope you can get a good Dr.

Have so much fun at your party this weekend!!

Is it the light that's waking you? I am waking around 4am most mornings just now, as apparently my body clock feels dawn is wake up time!

The medical thing must be a pain. because we have the NHS, you just re-register somewhere new. And as an EU citizen, even in France or Italy I could register and my stuff would be transferred.

So I don't know if you've already tried it or are open to it, but I finally decided to buy melatonin. I use it 1-2x a week if I can tell it's going to be a challenge for me to fall asleep...and I kid you not, it's been a total game changer for me. I sleep long and deep and it's helped "reset" some of the other nights too....
