It's vacation eve for me (eeks!! so excited!!!), so I've got no coherent thoughts going through my head, which means today will be a super productive day at work for me. ;) So here is a fun little meme that my sister posted over the weekend!
Four names that people call me other than my real name:
1. D-Rod - my old boss started that and it sort of stuck.
2. Lees - that is the most common shortening of my name.
3. Sleaza - My college friends used to call me this. Even one of my friend's mom's called me this for awhile! I think it was funny because I am so far from sleazy (trust me on this).
4. The Denominator - this was another college nickname for me as I was (and still am) such a math nerd. I used to participate in math competitions in high school and this was a name our team used and I told some friends about it and from then on, it was my nickname.
Four jobs I’ve had:
1. Piano teacher (in high school)
2. Waitress (in college)
3. Resort front desk clerk in Colorado (1 summer and 2 winter breaks of college)
4. Fixed Income Strategist (current job)
Four movies I’ve watched more than once:
1. You've Got Mail
2. The Holiday
3. (500) Days of Summer
4. Pretty Woman
Four books I’d recommend:
1. Still Alice by Lisa Genova
2. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
3. City of Thieves by David Benioff
4. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Four places I’ve lived:
1. Minneapolis, MN
2. Charlotte, NC
3. Mooloolaba, Australia (when I studied abroad)
4. Grand Forks, ND (where I went to college)
Four places I’ve visited:
1. Paris
2. New Zealand (south island)
3. Munich
4. New York City
Four things I prefer not to eat:
1. Pizza (I know I'm in the minority on this but I've never been a fan)
2. Sweet potatoes (again, I'm in the minority)
3. Goat cheese
4. Vegetables that come from a can, with the exception of corn. I'll eat that.
Four of my favorite foods:
1. Watermelon
2. Indian Curry
3. Salted Caramel anything (but especially macarons)
4. Pickles
Four TV shows I watch
1. Top Chef
2. Parenthood
3. House of Cards
4. Sex and the City
Four things I’m looking forward to this year:
1. Our trip to Jamaica - we leave tomorrow!!
2. Celebrating Christmas with my family - especially seeing my sister and BIL from Tucson!
3. Visiting Amber in Kamloops in September (finally get to see where she lives!!)
4. Meeting Becky and Ben's baby!
Four things I’m always saying:
1. It is what it is.
2. Oopsie daisy (yes that makes me sound like I am about 90)
3. Seriously?
4. I'm cold (because I am always cold, especially lately with how cold our weather has been!)
I won't be posting while I am on vacation so will be turning the lights off on this space until the week of the 15th. "See" you all in mid-December!!!

Love these kinds of posts! Have an AWESOME time on your vacation!
You're right, you ARE in the minority for sweet potatoes - I'm sad for you that you don't really like them - ha!
What a fun post! I may borrow this idea next week! OMG you're going to have SO much fun on vacation!!! Take lots of pics and soak up that sun!
And I can't wait for you to meet Lemon either! :)
Love this post. Love that you use oopsie daisy regularly. Ha! (I know I use phrases that make me sound old, too, but I can't think of anything at the moment.)
Happy vacationing!
Oooh fun post! I am in the middle of re-branding and moving over to self-hosting (thank goodness for web-designer brothers or I'd never be doing this!) so I can't post anything until he's done but I'm going to save this to do in the future! So fun. I love seeing what people have for nicknames. Have a fantastic time on your trip! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. Enjoy the sunshine and warm weather :)
Have so much fun on your vacation! And I'm with you on sweet potatoes. I just can't get into them, no matter which format I try!
I'm borrowing this idea for tomorrow because, well, it's been a Week! Have great time on your trip. Can't wait to hear/see/read all about it :)
Hope you guys have a wonderful trip!
Enjoy the vacation! You picked a great time to head down to the islands. I didn't know you were a piano teacher. I played in college.
Haha I LOVE this. I might try this too. I always think it's interesting having to think on these things cause it re-teaches me things about myself! I love that you say "oopsie daisey" :) Absolutely enjoy your vacation--can't wait to read about it!
You don't like goat cheese!!?? Omg, it's probably my favourite cheese! Haha!
I didn't know your sister had a blog - going to check it out now :-)
Have an amazing vacation!!! I'm excited for you!!
Ah! Another person who doesn't like sweet potatoes. I am the same! They just have a weird taste for me that I can't get behind. Haha. We can be in the minority together!
Have the BEST time on your vacation! Jamaica is one of my favorite places to visit.
Have an AWESOME trip (I know you will). And I'm so jealous that you are visiting Amber in September. I really need to. Your nicknames are funny. I always love hearing the stories behind them.
My high school nickname was "The Box" or "Box Peters" because I used to drive this black truck with a canopy (it was my dad's old truck) and one of the guys deemed it a box, therefore I was the box. Not funny to me, but hilarious to the guys.
I love lists like this, Lisa! And even after all this time, I learned some things about you. (Bummer about the pizza, sweet potatoes and goat cheese though -- we'll have to have a new take on meal plan if we ever meet up!)
I kept trying to say Mooloolaba over and over again.
Great post, Lisa! I hope you don't mind that I borrowed this.
Enjoy your trip!
I forgot about 500 days of summer & Pretty woman. Those are 2 movies that will never get old to me!!!
It's kind of funny that some of your least favorite foods are my favorites. Neapolitan-style marghertia pizza tops my favorite foods, I adore sweet potatoes, and love a salad with goat cheese. Maybe I wouldn't have to workout so hard if I weren't so fond of these things....
I love that your nickname was "The Denominator". I remember going and watching your math competitions a few times and being so envious! I made the mathletes one year - but was a completely worthless asset to the team. Lol.
Hope you're soaking up that beach!!
I love you! I'm so glad y'all are on vacation right now! I love The Holiday! Mom and I watched it last Saturday while I put up the tree, which fell sometime this morning, what a mess!
I too love watermelon and pickles! I didn't realize you don't love pizza, clearly you know I do by the ridiculous amount I ate at your running party!
SATC is one of my favorites!!! So thankful there is so much to look forawrd to coming up!!!
Lovdd reading this! Have a great trip!!!
I feel the exact same way about canned vegetables! There's a few I would eat like artichoke hearts in a salad, or maybe corn as well, but it's not something I ever think about, and I guess tomatoes to cook with. But in general if I want vegetables to go with a meal I basically only eat them if they're fresh.
Love this survey! I think I will do it this week. I never used to like sweet potatoes but I have to admit I enjoy them mashed up with coconut oil and have made them that way a couple of times and they're quite good. I don't really care for sweet potatoe fries (would rather have regular fries).
Can't WAIT for September already :) :)
I have watched ALL of those films more than once. Ha, henceforth I am calling you D-Rod.
Hope you have fun!
I am surprised you didn't name Wyndmere as that was your home for 18 years!
I learned things about you by this post, too, so that is fun!
Love this meme - so easy for you to fill out and so full of things I never knew about you! Hope Jamaica is fabulous!!! xoxo
Cute meme... fun to learn more things about you :)
I am with you on the pizza thing (I don't like pizza all that much), but I loooove goat cheese! :) And I love pickles!
