This weekend I...

Time for another bullet point post!

This weekend I...

  • went to bed at 8 pm on Friday night and slept for 12 hours straight. I woke up feeling like a different person.
  • bought some fun stationary at Target. I love buying new stationary! It's so fun to have cheery cards to send out!
  • attended a St. Joseph's party. It was so much fun. You can read about the Feast Day on Nola Girl's Blog. I came home with a fava bean, which is supposed to bring me luck!
  • snuggled up on the couch with my nearly-5 year old nephew while playing with his Leapster. He is one smart kiddo!
  • felt really at peace when I went to Mass on Sunday morning. My pulse seems like it's been elevated all week due to stress at work, but it definitely slowed during Mass. I walked out feeling much more centered and calm.
  • was thrilled when I read that Carolina John PR'd at his marathon!! I know how much time and effort he puts into his training so was so excited to hear that he shaved 33 MINUTES off his previous time!!
  • was secretly happy when Northern Iowa beat Kansas!! I know that messes up a lot of people's picks (and would have screwed up mine if I had actually had time to do them this week!) but I love it when the underdog wins!!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Oh sleeping in sounds amazing! I did much the same, resting up was definitely needed this weekend- its so good when you can get what you need.

This weekend I also got a seed catalogue so I can start planning my garden! I'm far too excited about it.

I am glad that you were able to sleep and found a peace that has been escaping you for a while.

I spent the majority of the weekend with a great friend I hadn't seen since before Christmas. He and I have quite the history so it was just really nice.

It sounds like this weekend was very rejuvenating for you. I'm glad you were able to get some much needed sleep and feel some peace. Try and keep that feeling with you this week if work gets stressful!!

Hope you have a great week, Lisa!

Sounds like a fun weekend! I'm hoping very much for a big long sleep tonight! I have two highlights - the one person in my close group of uni friends who doesn't live in Dundee now cam up for the weekend, and we all had a scary film sleepover, and my husbands band were the support at a gig of one of his heroes, I was very proud of him!

I am so glad your weekend was peaceful and fun! I am especially jealous of your chance to get to cuddle up with nephews! I miss our nephews :( ...I miss the whole family in fact!

What's a fava bean? I mean...I heard of the whole Hannibal "Fava beans and chianti"....... Sounds interesting!

That's great you were able to find peace at mass this weekend. That is truly a great feeling!

My highlight was going to see a really good concert on Saturday night with D & my dad & stepmum. And then going for wings and battered pickles :)

Who cares about brackets! I love great basketball during this time of year. So much fun. All the buzzer beaters and upsets. Makes my heart race just thinking about it!

I'm so happy you got a nice, long sleep in! You needed and deserved it! Your weekend sounds lovely.

I moved ALL weekend long. And I have no internet in my new place until Wednesday which is why I'm currently sitting at starbucks trying to get through my reader before I have to be at work in 25 minutes!!!

Sounds like you finally got caught up on your missed sleep from last week! A weekend to recharge sounded perfect for you :)

I didn't do much this weekend and that was perfectly fine with me. We checked out some open houses; we want to move into our own place really bad!

What a beautiful testimony about the peace felt at Mass! God's peace is the best one can receive!

I am totally an underdog person too- unless my team happens to be on top haha. But usually I go for the underdog too!

Sounds like you had a weekend of much needed relaxation. I really hope your week this week is better than last week and you can maintain a normal pulse!

The highlight of my weekend was the same as yours, getting a lot of sleep and a lot of relaxation in!

Maybe your fava bean will turn your work situation into paradise!

I bet you needed all those extra hours of sleep!!! I know it's not always possible, but I'm really trying to go to bed earlier and stick to 8-9 hours even if I feel like sleeping more...

This week-end I worked on school stuff and took care of my sister who's not doing super good, but we had fun together :)

Highlight of the weekend was wine tasting on a sunny day with the man and a nice drive on country roads. Oh and the sunshine itself wasn't too bad. Sounds like your weekend was good!
