November Re-cap

Current Book(s):
Finished - The Help (great book), Pride & Prejudice (great classic, review coming this week), Traveling with Pomegranates (great book, review coming later this month), The Christmas List (good Holiday read)

Currently reading: Outlander

Current Music:
The Script - love this CD!
Ingrid Michaelson's new CD
Buena Vista Social Club - thank you to my aunt Barb for introducing me to this Cuban band!

Current Shame-Inducing Guilty Pleasure:
Um is it bad to say Tylenol PM? I started taking it when I had a cold earlier this month and sort of kept taking it as an insurance policy against tossing and turning. I know I shouldn't be taking it every night like I have lately, but at most, I will get 7 hours of sleep each week night and I don't like to risk missing 1-2 of those hours tossing and turning... eventually I know I need to stop taking it though!

Current Colors:
Red & Green - Christmas is coming! :)

Current Obsessions:
Knitting. I got a few new patterns last month so I have been knitting up a storm. I'll post pictures soon!

Current Drink:
Those dang lattes - I love 'em!

Current Song:
"Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble - great song for a single gal!

Current Movie:
"The Holiday" - the holidays are approaching - I love to prepare for the holidays by watching movies set during Christmas/New Years!

Current TV Shows:
Top Chef! I am kind of in love with Brian, the nicer of the two brothers.

Current Wish-List:
Books, books, and more books!

Current Needs:
My condo to appreciate in value so I can sell it and buy a house. I am sick of sharing walls with people.

Current Triumph:
I'm really proud of myself for still working out despite the fact that I am busier than ever! Usually, when I get super busy like this, I cut out the workouts, but that has not been the case lately!

Current Bane of my Existence:
My grad school loans. They go into repayment on December 14th. Merry Christmas to me. The payment is the size of a mortgage, but I keep reminding myself that it all paid off since I landed an awesome job!

Current Goal:
Get my Christmas cards sent out within the next week!

Current Indulgence:
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. Mmm...

Current Blessings:
Family, friends, a cozy home, a great job - lots and lots of things!

Current Slang or Saying:
"Holy Cannasta" - still clean, but more interesting than saying "Holy Crap" or something like that!

Current (Fav) Outfit:
A basic v-neck sweater, jeans, and the ruffly scarf I just finished knitting this month!

Current Excitement:
Christmas is coming! I can't wait! All 4 of my siblings will be home, including my sister that lives in AZ! Besides celebrating Christmas, we will also celebrate my parent's 40th Anniversary!! 40 years - isn't that amazing?

Current Mood:
Content & excited for Christmas! I love how this time of year is full of so much joy & happiness!

Have you seen the Buena Vista Social Club movie?? It's in Spanish but I'm pretty sure it's subtitled and it got a crazy amount of awards. I watched it in Spanish class and I remember it being great (but maybe I'm just thinking of the soundtrack :))

I started Outlander a couple of months ago but I only got about 50 pages in - I read it after the Time Traveller's Wife and it didn't grab me nearly as much - let me know how it goes and maybe I'll finish it after all :)

I have so been there, except for me it was Nyquill... I don't find that it works that well in that way anymore though, or maybe it does but not if I set my alarm... I wake up too groggy.

I always enjoy recap posts. I just bought the Holiday the other day -- I've never seen it, shameful I know. I always get so excited for Christmas. Also really looking forward to your book reviews.

I am sorry to hear about the
student loan-Christmas present.

I dread the day I begin to pay off loans. I kind of want to transition into the Nurse Practitioner program fast so I don't have to start paying them off right away........

I am right with ya on being in a happy/content mood about Christmas!

So excited!

The Holiday. Heck Yes. One of my favorite holiday movies. A little Jack Black, a little Jude Law. Perfect romantic comedy.

Yesterday while we were decorating we had on "You've Got Mail," " Miracle on 34th Street," and then "The Holiday." I love this time of year!

I love your recaps!

The Help is currently sitting on my kitchen table, I'm going to read it as soon as I get through Julie & Julia (which I'm having trouble getting through btw). I hope you're enjoying Outlander and having dreams about Jamie like I was :P Haha

I'm also really proud of you for keeping up your workout schedule! I can't believe you can do it actually with the amount you work! You rock :D

Hope you're having a great Monday! XO

How in the world do you read so much? With working out, working, and with everything else you do-- that's amazing. Truly.

Urgh, sleep patterns at this time of year are so hard to control. I can't stand that it's getting dark at 4:30PM! It totally messes up my life- I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Bah!!

when we had to stop cursing around the kids we replaced "holy shit" with "sweet chicken". now it makes me laugh when i say it, and the kids both still curse like sailors. but really when a 2 yr old says "sum bitch" after seeing her dinner plate - it's just funny.

I'm rooting for Kevin on Top Chef, but they are all super talented. This might be the best final four they've ever had.

I love that Michael Buble song.

Love your excited holiday attitude! I'll have to check out that Michael Buble song. I love him!

Last night, the man and I watched Devil Wears Prada. It was either that or Love Actually, one of my all time fav romantic comedies that is a MUST to watch each holiday season.

I did this little quiz too! Cute :)

I bought Outlander a few months ago but haven't had a chance to read it. Let me know what you think of it! :)
