Greetings and happy Monday. I am feeling much more relaxed after a quick little weekend get away. A girlfriend knew someone who could get us a steal of a deal on a weekend at a spa in Wisconsin, so we had to take advantage of that as we were all overdue for some R&R and pampering!
The 3 of us hit the road on Friday afternoon. Our expectations for this spa were met and totally exceeded! From being greeted by adorable doormen wearing knickers and argyle socks to receiving a glass of champagne when we checked in, we were totally charmed from the get go! The grounds were so beautiful, we had a great time exploring. And of course, the spa services were the highlight of our trip.
The whole weekend was wonderful and I came back yesterday afternoon feeling significantly more relaxed and calm. Here's hoping that calm and relaxed feeling stays around. I am hoping we can do something like this once a year as there are so many great destinations that are within driving distance of Minneapolis!
If you could go on a girls' weekend to a destination that is driving distance away, where would you go?

Sounds wonderful! That would be my kind of getaway weekend! I need one of those!
I am so jealous! This sounds amazing :)
Souns like something I need too! I am happy you got to have such a wondeful weekend!
That sounds amazing!! I think I need one of those soon :)
Sounds like you had a great weekend!
I don't know of anything near me right now, but if I were in San Francisco, I would drive up to Calistoga for a nice relaxing weekend.
Oh, that sounds fantastic! I hope you can maintain the calm and relaxation for the whole week!
How relaxing and fun!
There's a little town about 40 mins away from here that has the nicest spa and cute little shops. Pretty much every time my Mom comes to visit, me end up there and we always come back feeling happy and relaxed.
Sounds like such a fun weekend away with your girlfriends :)
I am so glad that you were able to completely relax and enjoy yourself this weekend. Girls weekend getaways are so vital to life (at least in my book). If I could get away right now with some girl friends, it would either be to a secluded cabin in the mountains or a secluded little island up on Lake Erie -- away from cell phones, internet service and stress.
Sounds like a great weekend! Anywhere that greets you with a glass of champagne is ok in my books. ;)
That sounds fabulous! Glad you had a great weekend. I'm already figuring out how we can save to do some kind of warm getaway in early spring when we are sick of the rain in 2012. Every year I say I should have planned something, but this year I really want to.
Sounds like a fantastic weekend! I actually enjoy going to NYC with my girlfriends just because there is so much to do :) As long as no one has the crazy idea that I'm going to stay out til the bars close haha
Windsor Court here in NOLA - massages and high tea!
Hmmm, there are not that many great cities within driving distance ... I suppose I would go with some girls to Calgary.
I'm so glad you had such a great time. I think girls weekend getaways to spa's are the best way to go! I also love getaways where you spend the weekend in secluded cabin or area!
I am so glad you have had chill time Lisa! With all the exams and the moving and everything else, you deserve it!
There is a very fancy spa hotel in Edinburgh that I've been coveting a visit to for quite a while!
Your weekend sounds like bliss! If I could go anywhere for a girls weekend it would definitely be a spa. The pampering and relaxing is soooo appealing. :)
Congrats on your move, btw. The photos of you in your new area are lovely - I don't think I've ever seen a picture of you smiling so broadly (other than when you're with your family)!
Lisa, what was the place called? I'm always looking for spa getaways that are close.
Ahhh sounds blissful indeed! Glad you enjoyed yourself!
