Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you all had a good week. It was kind of my last 'normal' week. Next week I work Monday-Wednesday, the movers come on Thursday to pack my goods and load them, and then I fly out to Charlotte on Sunday. Yikes. Sh*t is getting real, people.
Here's 5 things on my mind this Friday:
1. Eggs. I really hope that I get to the lake on time on Saturday to partake in some egg dying with my nephews and niece. I also hope they receive some of those Reese's Peanut Butter eggs from the Easter Bunny and that one of them is kind enough to give one (or share one) with their aunt. :)
2. Delta. I am steadily becoming a very valuable customer to Delta. I purchase two flights this week - one for a trip to visit Alli in New York in August (eeks!! So excited!!), and one for my trip home for Christmas. Yes, you read that right. I already bought my ticket home for Christmas as the flight price was already starting to creep up and I didn't see it going any lower so I figured I'd buy it. I will probably be buying my ticket home for the 4th of July soon, too. Now that I have flown the Charlotte-Minneapolis route many times, I know how low prices go, and how sickeningly high they can get, so I figure I might as well lock in the lower price point when I can.
3. Study. I am once again using a vacation day today to study. Go me. But this will allow me to take Saturday and Sunday off and *hopefully* not feel guilty. I won't hit my 18 hours for the week, but oh well. Some weeks I just can't fit everything in and I am sure I will make up the hours missed when I am in Charlotte.
4. Eat. Eat. Eat. I have been eating out so much lately as I have so many good bye lunches/dinners/etc. Like yesterday, my boss took me out for breakfast, a friend at work took me out for lunch, and a former co-worker treated me to macarons in the afternoon. I usually try to only eat out once a week but that is just not possible these days, and it's only going to get worse next week when all my kitchen stuff gets packed up as I won't have my things for as long as a week possibly.
5. Moving? It still doesn't feel real that I am moving. I have done a lot to prepare for the move like set up utilities, donate belongs to Good Will, sell furniture, and submit a change of address form, but I have not packed a single box. That is because the moving company does it for me (which is paid for by my company). Which is awesome! But it makes the move feel less real because if I was in charge of the move, 80% of my things would be packed by now!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! And for those who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter!

You're lucky that your move is covered by your company. I suspect that allows you to take more (assuming you have the space for it there, which sounds a little dicey!) and it can ease the packing stress. I know this will be a crazy week for you, so I'm glad you're getting in good family time and treating yourself to a vacation day to study. It's a bit of a perfect storm, isn't it, everything hitting at once, but I know you will survive it well.
Have a happy, happy Easter and vive la Reeses!
Good luck on the move!!
I'm so happy to hear the company will help pack. I know you're anxious but I'm excited and optimistic for you.
I hope you definitely get to decorate some eggs this weekend! I'm glad you'll be spending Easter with your family without having to fly home another time! I have times when eating out just happens more often, and it's okay as long as it's not forever. Especially because you will probably not eat out a lot when you first move to Charlotte! Happy Easter! :)
I seriously cannot believe how soon your move is happening! I feel like it was JUST the beginning of March.
I'm glad you already have some fun stuff planned - like NYC and going home for the 4th and Christmas. I know some of those were a given but it always makes it more REAL when you have booked the plane ticket.
Happy Easter!
I still need your new address!!
Enjoy your time at the lake and I am so glad you will be able to see all of your siblings.
Happy Easter, Lisa! I hope you have a wonderful one with your family and that you are able to score a couple of those peanut butter eggs! We had to resist buying a bag of them the last time we were at Target, as they are too dangerously tempting and there's just the two of us.
That has to be so weird to not be packing. Don't worry about all the eating out - you'll get back to normal soon ! And you'll have that beautiful new kitchen to cook in.
I have barely eve flown delta. That is smart that WF does the same airline. Raytheon jumps between 2 for when Ryan travele which was annoying bc he could've had much better FF miles if they used one ! Usually uses American.
I'm so excited to be a part of watching the boys dye Easter eggs! Cannot wait to see you tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
I think it's impossible not to eat out a lot when you are at such a busy time in your life. I remember eating out a TON the weeks around our move a couple of years ago. Plus you have so many goodbye lunches and dinners.
Hope you're having a GREAT weekend at the lake. We painted eggs yesterday with our nieces and it was super fun. I hadn't painted eggs in years!
One of the worst things, in my opinion, about living away from home is having to travel for the holidays. It's not the actual traveling that is hard, but more how much flights costs. Of course part of that is my fault, since I normally book flights in September or so. But still, definitely a pain how expensive flights get around the holidays.
It would feel really weird for me to be so close to a move and to not be packed! I know it's a weight off your shoulders but it seems counterproductive mentally. Do they only pack the furniture? Everything? Do you just take a carry on and they do the rest? I have never had someone pack for me. I find the concept intriguing.
Hope you had a good weekend and a good Easter Lisa!!
#2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you had a lovely Easter!
I remember feeling super savvy about flying when I used to fly for work every week. You really do get to know the ins and outs of pricing (and airport procedures, too)!
