Stephany does this each week and Amber started doing it as well, so I am following suit and capping off what felt like a really busy week with this recap post!
The high of my week was going out for sushi with a friend that I hadn't seen (you guessed it) since I moved back. We went to this place that has the best happy hour deals and I feel like we basically ate our weight in sushi.
The low of my week was finding out that the sister of one of my closest friends (who is my age) is once again fighting breast cancer after being in remission for the last couple of years. Life is not fair.
A blog post I loved was Kelly's post about Max being 7 months old. I love seeing pictures of her little guy and hearing about his likes, dislikes, and developmental milestones. You can't help but smile when you look at the photos that her talented sister Caroline takes!
For my workouts, I completed an arms workout Monday morning, run club Monday night, a shred workout Tuesday morning, a ridiculous running club workout that involved 8 hill repeats with core work at the top of every hill on Wednesday and this 500 rep workout this morning (I only did the running part to warm up). So all in all I fit a lot in and am on track to fit 31 workouts in this month!
The best money I spent was on the delicious sushi that I had last night.
My plans this weekend include going to the driving range and out for dinner with Phil tonight, a trail run tomorrow morning and then a wedding that evening in southeastern MN. On Sunday I'm meeting Allison for coffee and then going for a walk with a friend that was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer this summer (she's actually a little younger than me) and is in the midst of treatments. Did I mention that life is NOT fair? I have Monday off so Phil and I are tentatively planning on going to Valleyfair which is a local amusement park. I'm not huge on rides but it will be fun to do something different! I was thinking this would be a quiet, plan-free weekend but that is really not the case. But I am trying to embrace my busy schedule.
What was the high and low of your week?

Aw, that just made my day that you enjoyed that blog post :) I feel like I'm a slacker blogger these days and basically just blog to track what Max does and keep in touch with my blog friends ha ha. So anyway, it's nice that other people actually enjoy reading those Max posts. I agree that Caroline's pictures are amazing!
I'm so sorry about your friends who are fighting breast cancer. Life really is not fair. That seems to always be the case with cancer. Sometimes I really need a reality check that my "problems" (Max being awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night, going back to work, getting a new class etc) are really not the worst case or even close to it!
I hope you have a good weekend. it sounds like you have some fun things planned! I'm hoping for a mix of some plans and some just getting ready for the week ahead.
Life is NOT fair. I agree. This cancer business needs to stop.
Highlight of my week: coming home to a clean house on Wednesday. We hired a cleaning crew in April: they come twice a month and it's the best money we've spent in a long time.
Low of my week: I didn't get talk to my eldest bonus daughter on her birthday (our phone call went unanswered/unreturned) =(
Life is certainly not fair. Cancer sucks.. there's really no other way to put it.
I'm glad you like my photos, thanks for the shout out! Hope you have a great weekend!
So sorry to hear about your friend's sister :( Cancer sucks! Hope you have a wonderful long weekend :)
Cancer is just such a "horrible" word & disease! My heart & prayers are with them both.
Have fun @ Valley Fair and with Phil at your side, the rides will be exciting!
Kudos on the great workout & have fun at the wedding!
My weekend is going to be quiet, so plan to pick up a book and read for a change!
I am so sorry to hear about both your friend and your friend's sister. Life is truly not fair, and it's hard for me to understand sometimes....
Way to go on your solid week of workouts!! That's amazing you're able to squeeze morning and evening in with your long days at work! You're an inspiration!!
Sounds like you have a great weekend planned! Enjoy!
There is nothing better than sushi happy hours!! Mmmm
We have an all you can eat sushi place in Raleigh that I have yet to visit. sounds amazing.
Have fun at the driving range and wedding! That's going to be a wonderful time!
I'm so excited to meet you, but I'm sorry your friends are dealing cancer. My sister-in-law currently has terminal cancer, and it's really rough. Life is definitely so unfair.
Oh, man. I am so sorry to hear about your friend and your friend's sister. That's awful. It's not something you expect to hear about, being so young! Devastating.
The high of my week was getting a shout-out in our monthly company-wide meeting from my boss. That was nice!
The low of my week was some sad family issues. It's so hard to watch your loved ones hurting!
Oh man, sushi dates are the BEST. I love sushi! That is so sad about your sister's friend. I swear, we all know someone who's been affected. I hate it. I'm thinking about her.
Enjoy your weekend!
This is one of my favourite new posts to do on Friday! I missed last week but will have to get back to it next week.
The high of last week was probably Friday night. Nothing really special happened but Eric and I went out for beers and appies right after work and then came home and spent all evening watching HIMYM and drinking wine. It was sooo much fun and much needed after a busy week!
Great way to look back on your week, Lisa! I agree that Max is so darn cute and Kelly does a great job with her updates! And now, I must go, because I'm jonsing for sushi! =D
Well, I know all of this is old news by now, but it's fun to catch up! I'm back and so will be more regular!
My highlight for last week was being very creatively productive and doing it at the lake!
That is so sad :-( Cancer is devastating, and the fact that she is battling for a second time is just so heartbreaking.
