After being unable to run for most of 2013, I am very thankful that I was able to return to my favorite sport of running in 2014. When I was dealing with my stress fracture and pain from my RA, there were definitely times when I questioned whether I'd ever be able to describe myself as a runner, so I am so relieved that running is now part of every week.
Coming into the finish line at the trail half we did in Berkeley in September |
I always loved running but my absence from the sport definitely taught me to appreciate the ability to be active. You won't catch me complaining about running much because I recognize that even a bad run is better than no run.

Hooray! I didn't run much in 2014 as I was focusing on swim/bike for triathlons, but this weekend I was able to do 8 miles with little pain, so I'm hoping I'll be able to have some strong races in the summer!
I remember how unhappy you were when you couldn't run. Cheers to running again :)
Woo hoo for registering for a race already! I am looking forward to getting back into running next year after baby :)
I'm glad you're able to run again, too! I know how important it is to you, and how it's a part of you. Exciting about the race in April!
I am so happy that you were able to get back into running this year! You actually gave me a good dose of perspective when you couldn't run. I felt badly complaining about a bad run because I am lucky to run at all. I'm also going to be running my first half on 2015 in April - woohoo!
So so so happy you can run again!!!
I'm SO happy you are back to running! I know that at time it seemed like you would never be back to it and now I'm just so glad that time is behind you. Also I'm really really glad we ran that trail race together. Looking back on that race it feels extra special and fun because we stuck together the whole 21 km!
I remember feeling so worried about you last year. Thank goodness you can still run and have that release.
I am so thankful that you are able to run again too!! I remember first hearing about your RA and being so worried for you. I am glad that things are looking up! I am also glad for selfish reasons, as I am happy to meet up with you for running related rendezvous!
It's really unfortunate that we have the no running misery in common but it's awfully nice that we have the thrill of getting back to it in common, too. Glad you're back at it and appreciating it!
I am SO happy you are able to run again, as I know how much that make you YOU. I can relate to the appreciation for being active after a stress fracture and a bone spur over the past 2 years! Now I really try to be smart to prevent injuries, and never complain about a single run!
I'm so happy for you that you're able to run again :-) That is definitely something to be thankful for. Also, I love this Thanksgiving series of posts!!
Yay, so glad you can run! I'm loving this series especially this year because I feel like so many things have "come together" for you in the last few months. Not everything, of course! But many things to be thankful for.
I knew that'd be at the top of your list! Yay!
I am so glad you are able to run again!
I may not be much of a runner, but even so can easily tell how much of an impact it has on your life. It's definitely good to see how awesome so many parts of your life are this year compared to last. Hopefully it will just keep getting better from here on out!
