5 Things Thursday

Happy Thursday, everyone! My staycation is flying by and I am getting lots of nagging tasks done that I've been putting off for awhile, like vacuuming out my car and ironing. While some of the tasks aren't 'fun' it feels good to get things done!

Last week Emily of The Many Thoughts of a Reader posted this 5-things survey so I thought I'd play along!

5 of my blog posts I think you should read:
- Sleep Training for Adults (Because if you struggle with sleeping and do what I did, you should sleep much better!)
- Sorry, I'm Not Sorry (On defining and owning what you consider "fun")
- On Schedules and "Shouldless" Days (On giving yourself permission to have an obligation-free day)
- Why (One of my most vulnerable posts about a break-up)
- Traveling with Pomegranates (Another vulnerable post that combines a book review with reflections on a period of my life when I struggled with depression)

- Spain (especially the Seville area as that's where Phil studied abroad!)

5 foods I could eat every day:
- Pickles
- Raspberries
- Carnitas tacos (roasted pork)
- Salted caramel gelato
- Reese's peanut butter cups

Are you on Netgalley? A couple of books on your want to read list are available on there. You could read them on the kindle app/kindle before they are released.

I just went back and read the "why" post. I remember reading it back in 2011, but it's so interesting read now 5 years later. Probably for you too!

I'm glad you are enjoying your staycation. I think the idea of getting a bunch of stuff done so it doesn't have to be done on weekends is a great one, ha ha.

Carnitas tacos!! Yeah! That caught my eye. I love these list posts; they give me such good ideas of what to read etc... I have not read any of the books that you recommended OR any of the ones that you "want to read" OR any of the recently read ones, although I own Devil in the White City, but just have not gotten around to reading it. It's about Chicago politics, right?

I should have a staycation....or maybe I should just plan a gosh darn weekend with NO plans...sigh...it's hard to do sometimes! This weekend I will go running on Saturday and then will likely try to get some yard work done if it's not raining. If it is raining, I have some inside projects to do, but either way I will try to do stuff around the house. However, a friend is trying to convince me to go out Saturday night... we shall see. Sunday my brother is coming over to help work in the yard and take a couple of Home Depot trips with his truck. So that will be productive...

I'm glad you are enjoying your staycation and I am having all of the jealousies about you and Nora's weekend! :)

Let's see... five books I want to read: Be Frank with Me by Julia Claiborne Johnson, Good on Paper by Rachel Cantor, Down the Rabbit Hole by Holly Madison, Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon, and Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari... and about a million more books, ha!

I have been wondering how your staycation is going and sounds like you are getting lots done, which is always such a great feeling! It sounds like the weather will cooperate for your visitor, and that will make it a plus experience!

If I could pick 5 places to visit outside of the USA, it would be: The Holy Land, Italy, France, Scotland & Germany.

Five foods I could eat everyday include: popcorn, spaghetti, raspberries, blueberries & fresh veggies.

Fun post!

A little more than 24 hours until I'll be there! YAY!

This is such a fun idea; I think I'll borrow it for tomorrow because, well, I haven't blogged in forever :)

Have you seen The Intern? If not I highly recommend. Its one of my top favorite movies.
I spent a week in Seville when I did semester at Sea. I remember talking to Phil about this now. Was a really pretty city.
