I am thankful for schoolwork-free weekends.
I am so glad that I got my MBA, but can I just say how much I love a schoolwork-free and group meeting-free weekend? After 3 years of doing case studies and going to group meetings on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, it actually kind of feels weird when Sunday rolls around and I don't have to pack up my bag and head to a local coffee shop to meet some classmates.
I often wake up on Sunday mornings and my natural reaction is to sort of groan and think - oh gosh, what do I have to do today? I then very quickly remember that I am done with school and have that degree and never have to go to another group meeting again.
That is a fantastic feeling, people. Seriously. Balancing work, school, relationship, working out, and group projects was not fun. And truth be told, I wasn't all that good at it, and I wasn't all that fun to be around!
So I am almost giddy when Sunday rolls around now and I can just go to church and grocery shop and cook dinner and knit and not have to pick up a stupid Harvard Business Review case.
It's bliss. Absolute bliss.

Personally I don't think anyone is awesome at balancing that much stuff! If they look really good at it, it's probably just cuz they manage to maintain friendships, but then how well are they doing in work/school?
I totally hear you on this. I have been getting my masters for the past 2 1/2 years and I finished in May. I still have that...wait a second, shouldn't I be doing some homework feeling? every weekend! so happy that's over!
I am right there with you on this one! No Uni work, and no weekend job. It's amazing! I didn't see anyone onther than family for most of the year when I was at uni.
Weekends are my haven and I love having the time to do whatever I want, whether that be spending it all with friends running from one place to another, or just not doing anything at all.
I absolutely can not wait for that feeling!! Thanks for sharing a glmpse for me :)
Jealous.
BUT in 6 more months I'm sure, like you, I will be thankful that I DID tough it out and get my degree.
But right now I'm jealous because after I finish reading all the blogs in my google reader I have to tackle an ethics paper and freelance work when all I want to be doing is snuggled up on my couch reading Julie and Julia!
Hope you're having a lovely weekend, dear! XO
Hope you had a great weekend!
Oh wow that sounds fantastic. As school has marched along, I find myself taking more and more time off from studying! ooops!!!! Ok sunday night, ready to tackle the Spinothalamic tract... Here you go.

Just in case you feel like studying! I can quiz on Thanksgiving :) Ps. I am going to bring you the bell jar... hold me to it.
I'm with you on this one; balancing work, homework, family, relationships and your own physical/mental/emotional health is far more than what any average human should have to do for very long!! My husband is currently going through this; he figured his degree in law enforcement wasn't enough and is now working on a BSc; he'll be done in December, but whenever he starts talking about his MSc, I start to cringe!
I know how you feel! I took this semester from school off and it was great; I'm more than likely going back this winter but it's been nice to relax a bit more here and there and not feel super stressed!
Oh my goodness, I'm starting to think that days without school work might be a myth!! lol
It's good to hear that you fought through school to the other side, I need to hear those stories right now.
That is awesome! You deserve free weekends!
And I'm just going to comment on your "health post" on here:
You are so awesome for being in such good shape -- even though a huge career transition you managed to train for a 1/2 marathon! That is true dedication!
You look absolutely amazing, and I am so proud of you!!
Ugh. I wish I had homework-free week-ends! Lately I've been researching/writing every single day, for like 10 hours a day!! :( I'll live vicariously through you ;)
