This weekend I finally got a chance to go to my parents' cabin for the weekend. I was especially excited for this weekend as I finally got to meet my nephew Charlie who was born 4 weeks ago today! Oh my goodness, he is such a perfect baby (I may be a bit biased, but see for yourself, photos are below)!
It was pretty much a perfect weekend. The weather was gorgeous! I ate very well. A little too well, probably, but that's what cabin weekends are all about. I spent hours reading and soaked up the time with family. I got to help my dad celebrate Father's Day. I slept 8 hours each night!
I could tell you more about the weekend, but I will let the pictures do the talking!

Holding Charlie for the first time! |
|
Hanging out with Grandpa. I love how the pacifier is almost as big as his head! |
|
Is there anything more relaxing than watching a baby sleep? |
|
Andrew holding Charlie for the first time. The boys were super curious about this little baby and could not believe that he only gets to drink milk. They kept say, "No yogurt? Really?" |
|
The boys love to fish. Andrew is a such a patient older brother! I love how they think they need a net to catch pan fish! Too cute. |
|
I think the paddle boat will get a lot of use this summer. Matthew's legs are too short to pedal, so Andrew does all the pedaling. Quite the good set up for Matthew! |
I am looking forward to heading back to the cabin this weekend. My sister & her husband will be home from Tucson for the weekend - I can't wait to spend some quality time with them. I hope they bring some hot, sunny weather with them!
What was the highlight of your weekend?

Aww your new nephew is so cute! I love little babies! They are just adorable and so much fun to hold!
No yogurt? That's priceless :)
Those are really adorable photos! He's such a sweet baby. And your nephews, too cute.
Highlight of my weekend... probably Saturday night sharing a bottle of wine after a disaster babysitting experience that really left us with no choice but to laugh.
Thanks for sharing the pictures! It was a great weekend and this coming one promises to be the same or better! Wish Chad, Emily & Kolin could join us!
I LOVE the picture of him with the pacifier. It IS so big but so so so cute. And you look fabulous as always.
Your cabin weekends sound so so amazing. Having a cabin on a lake is definitely one of my dream items :)
Charlie is ridiculously cute, you're right!!
Just looking at cabin pictures makes me feel more relaxed!!
He is adorable!! :) It sounds like you had a great time.
Im in Minneapolis this week hoping to find a place to rent, wish me luck!!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing your weekend.
Know what I love about pacifier pics like that? Next month, that pacifier won't look nearly as large in photos, as if the pacifier is shrinking! =)
Oh, and I want a cabin with a lake view like that! Looks super restful and peaceful, where you just get to be (well, with lots of little boys noises in the background, of course!).
such nice photos! when you post about the cabin, it reminds me of when we would all get together at my aunt's cabin when my grandparents lived there... my parents live on the lake and so do my husbands but we never seem to enjoy it as much as we should and your pictures make me jealous! my highlight of the weekend would be hanging out by the pool with friends and enjoying a beer!
Charlie is a total cutie. The pacifier really makes the picture funny too haha.
Of course, I enjoy the stories about the older boys best- like their fascination about Charlie drinking only milk. Kids are much more entertaining to me once they can talk and therefore say funny things :)
What a gorgeous baby and the boys are adorable also!
He is too precious!
Charlie is adorable!! Oh, my goodness.
Having a cabin is probably so, so nice. And it must be fun to be able to get together with family and enjoy them!
He is so cute! I'm glad you had a great weekend with your family! The highlight of my weekend has definitely been spending time with my husband's awesome family!
The boys are just precious!
Love the paddle boat arrangement!
We are literally brain twins - your caption for the second photo is exactly what I was going to type!
He is beautiful - and what a fabulous weekend you had! Hope the weather is great for this one as well!
He is so adorable!! I cannot wait to meet him this weekend :) Wow!
That is too funny about James & Andrew and how perplexed they are by a baby's diet!
I guess it is kind of peculiar, if you think about it...
Look forward to seeing you guys! :)
Awwwwwwwe, I love babies!!!!!
Charile is adorable, as are your other nephews. I am so glad that you are able to spend so much at the cabin this month. I think its great that Abby and her husband were there this weekend!
