Currently - April Edition

Wow, April is almost over!  Here's where my head is currently!

Reading:  Jane Eyre.  I don't read many classics but since I have all of this time off, I figured now was the time to tackle this book.  Plus, it is one of my mom's favorite books!  It's long (500+ pages) and I'm having trouble concentrating on reading these days so it is taking me awhile to get through it.

Loving:  the warm spring weather we've had lately.  It was 85 here this weekend so I actually went out boating with friends on Sunday.  Crazy to be on the lake is April as there is still ice on my parents' lake!

Thinking: about my move logistics.  It's a little tricky this time around since my belongings will go into storage until I can move into my new place on May 30th so I have to figure out how much clothes to pack into my car and what can be boxed up for delivery when I move in.  Decisions, decisions.  I'm also thinking lots about the drive back and where we'll stop and what snacks I should bring and blah blah blah.  I am probably annoying my mom with all the text messages about my planning process!

Feeling: so relieved that I have found my way home.  It still hasn't fully hit me yet I think because I am still here in Charlotte.  I think it will fully hit me when I leave Charlotte for good and arrive in Minneapolis in May.

Anticipating:  my move!!  My move trumps everything.Along with that move home, I'm anticipating spending Memorial Day weekend at the lake cabin and FINALLY meeting my niece Evelyn.  I have never gone this long without meeting a niece or nephew (she will be about 4 months when I meet her).

Watching:  very little TV these days because my two favorite shoes are done - one for good (HIMYM), one until next season (Parenthood).

Sad:  that my time with my employer came to such an abrupt halt.  I had a feeling that would be the case but it was surreal to have just a matter of hours to say my goodbyes to everyone.

Working: out pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day.  I start my new job on 5/27 so I clearly have a lot of time on my hands and working out is free and keeps me busy/sane.  I reached my 30 workouts in 30 days goal yesterday.  I'm proud of myself for achieving that because the first half of the month was hectic with lots of work travel and travel for interviews and such.

Grateful:  that I found a unit in my old building.  Having a place lined up to rent that I know I will LOVE is a HUGE relief.

Listening: to Ingrid Michaelson's new album.  I love her music so much.

Wishing:  that my body would let me sleep in.  I have been going to bed later but I still wake up at 5:30-6 am and most days I wake up a couple of hours before that and have a hard time falling back to sleep.  It's annoying to say the least as this is a time when I should be sleeping in until 7!

What are you currently reading, anticipating, and loving?

I had the early morning wake up this morning too around 4. It was so annoying, I swear I wasn't thinking about anything stressful other than I NEED TO SLEEP lol.
Also, I bet your mom is excited to drive with you and plan :)
Jane Eyre- I saw that was our book this month and I was just like, no- can't do it. Not the time for me to tackle a classic and so far I've never met one I actually liked. But I trust your opinion on books so I'll be happy to hear it when you finish. :)

So exited for your move!

Currently reading: Romance novels. This year I've been drawn to gritty memoirs or romance novels - either completely real, or a total escape and I'm embracing it.

Anticipating: Next week - Advocacy Day and GTC!

I am excited for your move back so not annoyed at all by your texts & calls! I am also looking forward to a road trip as it has been a long time since I have been on one!

Gosh, I wish you could sleep in during this down time but you probably have a lot on your mind with the move and all.

I did love Jane Eyre and read it at least twice and loved it more the second time. I do think it is hard to get into at first but then the story grabs you and it was hard to put down! A beautiful love story! Hope you enjoy it when you get into it! I am reading Skeletons at the Feast right now and it is keeping me intrigued! I love stories from that horrible event but the word "love" sounds repugnant!

I am having a hard time concentrating on reading right now too. I have Jane Eyre and I've gotten about 25% through it but I always find an easier read that distracts me. I really want to finish it at some point. Right now I'm reading Still Alice by Lisa Genova. Alzheimer's runs in my family so it's really interesting to me, but it's tough to read at times. I am anticipating my cruise on May 30th!

What a good post! (Jane E. gets good once you get deep enough into it!)

I'm currently reading another Cara Black mystery set in Paris (Murder in Montparnasse) -- not far enough in yet, though.

Anticipating going to a spring wreathmaking workshop and dinner at a nearby garden on Wednesday.

And delighting in quite successfully making my first batch of French macarons!

Anticipating: May! I have lots of busy stuff going on between my nephew-in-laws graduation, a friend's 30th, my dad's 64th, my gram's 90th, a bridal shower and more!

reading: A romance novel. Then the newer Neil Gaiman book for TLC.

Wishing: that it was Friday. Work is whooping my ass these days.

I'm so excited for your move and all the good stuff you have going on! xoxoxo

After many many people recommended it to me I'm reading Pillars of the Earth. It's a good book and a page turner but holy crap is it ever long, 900+ pages! I'm not even halfway through the book and already so much has happened! I am enjoying it though.

Right now I am most definitely anticipating our trip to Ireland. It still feels a bit surreal that it's so soon since so much of the planning was done ages ago and it's been soooo long since we've taken a huge trip like this. I really don't think it will feel real until we're on our way to the airport!

The logistics of a big move like that is tricky! I am glad you have this time to really be able to plan it out.

I wish we could be there for Memorial Day weekend!!
