TGIF!

Oh Friday, I'm so happy to see you!  Here's a little TGIF recap of my week.

The high of my week was lots of things, such as getting to know/playing with Phil's cat, going to an Ingrid Michaelson concert with Amber and a friend from work, and seeing a bunch of former coworkers, including my former boss, at an event hosted by my previous employer (I left on good terms so it was great to see everyone).

The low of my week was feeling extremely frustrated and impatient about something related to work.

A book I am reading is In the Shadow of the Banyan. It's a book my mom recommended to me that is set in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime.  I'm counting it toward the "books set in Asia" category of the Read Harder Challenge.

A recipe I made was One-Pan Italian Sausage and Peppers Pasta.  It called for marinara so I used this easy recipe to make the marinara using basil and oregano from my herb garden!  I know it looks like it has a lot of cheese but that's actually just four thin slices of provolone.  It was delicious and so easy to make!  Phil does the dishes when I cook so he was very happy that there was only one pan to wash. :)

For my workouts, I completed fewer workouts than I'd like due to lots of evening commitments that kept me up too late to get up before work to workout... I ran on Monday and Thursday, and also went to a swim class on Thursday.  Today will be a rest day, tomorrow I will do my long run with my club, and on Sunday I'm planning to bike to a local lake to do my first open water swim!

The best money I spent was on dinner at a Greek place that we went to before the concert.  The food was so good and inexpensive!

My plans this weekend include going to a happy hour tonight and going to Once the musical tomorrow night (which I'm so excited about!!!).  Phil has a guy's golf weekend so I'll also be cat sitting!  The past week has been a busy one so I am really glad that I don't have much planned for the weekend!

What was the high of your week?  What was the best money you spent?

Oh I love Once! Both the movie and musical, it's such a lovely story and fun production.

And enjoy your relatively quiet weekend (still sounds quite busy to me!) - they can be such a luxury

Wow, what a full week! I have never heard of the show Once, but I cannot wait to hear how you like it. I used to go to the theater a lot but have not been for quite some time! I need to put that kind of thing back on my To Do list.

My week was a mess...I had to take a visiting coworker out for dinner on Monday, which was fun, but I really could have used the time to go running or finally get to bed early. On Tuesday I went up to my brother's house for his girlfriend's birthday dinner. Wednesday I worked out and moved a bunch of stuff around the house and then Thursday I did laundry, a HIIT workout and I moved some more stuff around (seems to be the norm these days). I wish I could say this weekend was going to be relaxing, but tonight I drive up to Tahoe to support a friend for the weekend who is doing a 100 mile run! It's going to be a long couple of days!

"The low of my week was feeling extremely frustrated and impatient about something related to work." Um yes, me too! Annoying. But it sounds like you had a great rest of your week and a fun weekend planned!

I bought ANOTHER pair of shoes this week....I'm working at a local shoe store as they have a going out of business sale, and somehow I've managed to spend more than I've made....So it's either a high or low for the week. I'm not sure.

That pasta dish looks really good! I hope your work problem is resolved soon, like today! Hang in there!
No big highs or lows for me this week, so life moves on! It seems like it is "work, mow, sleep" and start over! The high is always heading to the lake for the weekend!
Have fun with Oscar!

That looks delish, Lisa. Glad it was a mostly good week. My highlight, I suppose was attending a work friend's retirement. But it felt like a party for me because everyone was so happy to welcome me. Made me feel missed. Happy weekend!

The low of my week was definitely the big news we got at work yesterday about my boss leaving! It's a great move for her but man it will be a tough transition for our team. Also the heat is on the border of a high/low. I like the beautiful weather but it's honestly a little TOO hot for me right now haha. I didn't really spend any money this week... Oh the best money I spent probably would have been for appies and wine at book club the other night!

You had such a full week! So glad you are getting lots of kitty time! :)

I wrote this in my post, but my highlight was my mom's surprise bridal shower (so fun to be in on the secret!) and the best money I spent was on flowers for her bridal shower.

The best money I spent was on dinner out for me and the girls last night; I needed a break from the kitchen and we had such a good time!

Two highs this week: getting good news from my doc and also helping out with a community service project last night at Church. The girls loved it and it is so nice to do something that makes a difference :)

Sounds like you had fun at the concert :) and hope everything is okay at work. You have me craving Greek food now. Have a wonderful weekend!

The best money I spent was on a pair of running shoes I've been wanting to try - about $60 after discounts and coupons. Not too bad!

I have to try that recipe! Ryan loves Italian sausage, so that would be a hit ;).

Sounds like you had a great and busy week! I hope you get some news this week regarding the work situation!!

Excited to hear how your open water swim went this weekend! That will help you so much in the race...

The best money I spent this week was on lunch today. We went for a hike with another couple we camped with, and then stopped at this hokey place in Mount Lemmon called "The Cookie Cabin", which makes home made pizzas, and these giant "pizza-sized cookies". We got a cookie that had butterscotch, coconut, and oatmeal in it. It was divine!

I love cats, and kittens are just so cute and funny! I hope you have a fun time cat-sitting.

The high of my week and best money I spent was on a birthday getaway for my husband - we went to The Lost Springs which is a geothermal hot pools and spa, it was just so nice!

The high of my week was the last day of work for two months! The best money I spent was on a gift basket for my retiring friend.

Oh yum I need to try out this recipe. You make the best meals. If I lived closer I think I would seriously invite myself over at least once a week.
